Thanks wibble58 and Shereen ,
I have alerted Sandys owner and she is going to look at found dog 63564.
She has already looked at the dog the dog on Hereford and Worcester Animal rescue x
wibble58
Please look at the website for Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue as they have a very emaciated Female Lurcher who was found wandering but no one recognises the dog from the area. This could be Sandy if she was taken by travellers or has been wandering on her own. I really want you to get her back. x
wibble58

Lorraine Wight
Hi, We've just drove home tonight along the road from Barnard Castle to Staindrop... as we approached Dunhouse Quarry the car 2 in front of us slowed down and started driving in the middle of the road, at first we weren't sure what they were up to but then we saw that there was a greyhound type dog racing down the middle of the road in a blind panic! The driver of the car tried to drive in front of the dog and open his door to try to catch it and stop it running head long into the oncoming traffic, it was pitch black so cars coming towards the dog could not see it until the last minute, the driver had no luck as the dog was not stopping and somehow the cars managed to avoid the dog! The dog ran at high speed all the way into Staindrop and eventually left the road where the grassed area starts between the road and houses. The dog looked to be a light to mid coloured greyhound/lurcher type dog, because it was so dark it was hard to see the exact colour. Hope this helps but please get back to me if you need any more info. All the best Lorraine

Circumstances point to Sandy being stolen as her owners found the bolt to her kennel was undone and the gate to their garden was open . The police have been informed and have issued a CRN .
Her owners have informed the dogwarden and contacted local Stray kennels and I have advised them to get as many posters up as possible and try to get media coverage to make Sandy TOO HOT TO HANDLE !
Hoping Sandy is back home very soon x

Sorry to see that SANDY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (59689)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
