- Just wondered ,as all of us who have been following poor sad Millie have the same aim ,to help Staffies particularly the ones who find themselves in pounds and in danger ,would like to take a look at conversation on 60892" I need help".Honey brindle & white Staffie page?
Although this particular little one APPEARS to be ok you might be able to assist in helping the rest?
THANK YOU. - 2013-12-05 21:51 duffs54
- Excellent idea PGM keep these poor mites in the news, might raise the profile thank you xxxx

- Good luck Carol I don't think it's difficult to do if you do have a go & are fairly familiar with FB, I think someone has to be Admin of the group, i guess this would be the person who sets it up & i guess if people want to join the group to post & share then that's where the time consuming bit may come in... so it's something I will keep in the back of mind to do one day soon if you don't manage it Carol xxx take care all xxxLast edited: 2013-12-05 17:32:29 by Paula Griffin's Mum

- After re-reading all the posts, I too, like Tan Baker, was wondering whether Millie was indeed a missing dog, who had been caught and tied up until she could be found - this is very feasible. There may still be an owner out there searching for her. However, it was not to be. I am so very upset and sorry that this was such a sad outcome. Poor Millie must have been so frightened. Too young for the bridge, but run free beautiful Millie. Sorry we let you down xxxx

- Paula Griffins Mum. A very good idea, it would be so heartbreaking to read though. It would be way beyond my capabilities to do. Good luck Carol!!!

- I know of some Staffie owners who are abused by a minority of people telling them that their "Killer dogs" should not be anywhere near people, or in parks where they are innocently playing a game of "Fetch" What planet are these individuals on? lol! Yuo will never be forgotten Millie. RIP+

- Just Read The Devastating News About Millie. :'(
The OWNER Should Of Had This Happen To Them, NOT A Gorgeous Girl Like Millie!!! I Hope They Get What's Coming To Them, The Nasty Bastards!
You Were Took Far To Soon Beautiful... RIP Angel. :'(

- This is just too sad, I’m not the first I’m sure to shed tears when I read about Millie, we will light a candle for you Millie tonight, RIP dear sweet girl, I’m so so sorry the human race let you down :( xx
This made me think whilst out walking Griffin this morning, I have an idea, could someone set up a facebook group in memory of these poor babies, who through no fault of their own are sadly pts, the fur babies who spring to mind are Wilf, Honey, Jim & now Millie, if these babies can be stored on social media, 1. It’s a way to ensure they are never forgotten, a way to remember & honour them & 2. A way to record these obscenities & invite those in the media to visit the page, Paul O’Grady, Jeremy Vine (radio 2) to maybe keep this fresh in everyone’s mind the overbreeding, the duty of care & responsibility of breeders, the neglect & suffering these poor dogs endure day in day out until they are cast aside like trash, I won’t go on, just an idea. I’m afraid I just don’t have the time to do it, I work at a PC all day but not able to go on-line to do personal stuff & my lunch break just disappears as do my evenings at home… Anyone think it a good idea? Anyone willing to set up a FB group?

- SH I think there should be more publicity about over breeding of the Staffies. No disrespect but even on DL there are people allowing their dogs to have puppies, but why? when there are so many dogs, and puppies needing good homes. Grrrr.... I am gutted to hear about Millie, and it must have been a difficult decision to make I know. As someone has said she is in a better place now, and having fun with Lennox, Patch, Bernard, and the other "Rainbow babies" Now in the care of the Angels where no harm can come to you. RIP+ God blessx A~~~Candle~~~burns for beautiful Millie. Run free sweetheart. YOU DID NOT DESERVE THIS THOUGH, BUT YOUR "OWNER" DID. SHAME ON THEM.

- Words fail me, this is so heartbreaking why do so many staffies get abandoned. They are wonderful dogs, have amazing natures but seem to get into the wrong hands so very often. is there anything any of us can do to make their plight more publicised to try and give them a better chance at living with people who love and care for them as they should be. Believe me I know many, many people adore them and love and cherish them but you only have to look at dog lost to see how many are found but never claimed like this beautiful one. Run free over the bridge, you will never feel hurt again x

- Thank you for updating the page. It is always sad when a healthy dog has to be pts but we all know that the decision wouldn't have been made lightly and at least Millie knew some love and compassion in her last few days. RIP sweetheart.Last edited: 2013-12-03 18:03:29 by AlisonH

- That must have been a very difficult decision to make. I keep looking at that last sentence written about her when she was found, thin, very cold, very scared.
Very upsetting for all. - 2013-12-03 17:23 Broxtowe dog warden
- Firstly a big thank you to everyone who offered to donate to help Millie however just kenneling her without hope of a rehabilitation space would just of caused her more suffering she was really not coping well in the kennel environment,Unfortunatly no rescue space could be found for Millie so she was sadley put to sleep on Monday.

- Thanks Alison x

- Have managed to speak to the customer service lady and she is going to get the dog warden to call me when she gets in. I will update the page as soon as I have heard from them.

- Have tried calling for an update but I just keep getting a recorded message. Will try again later.
- 2013-12-03 10:07 ClaireC
- I have to say its not the "system" that is letting these dogs down its the irresponsible breeders, followed by the irresponsible "owners" in this throwaway society we find ourselves living in in these sad times!
- 2013-12-03 07:10 Bo
- I have been refreshing this page every 30 minutes (bar sleep) over the last 3 days hoping for an update - can someone please put us all out of this anguish and let us know what's happening with this young dog.
IS SHE ALIVE? So sorry for shouting.
Please let us know. - 2013-12-03 01:35 Carol

- Is there any news re this one, the dogwarden post below did say she would be pts Monday if no rescue was found. Do we know any more at all if this happened or if more time has been allowed for rescue to be found
- 2013-12-02 20:51 Unknown
- silver. Someone normally posts a link on the dogs page telling us how we can donate. Hope Millie is okay. Keep us posted please. ((((HUGS)))) to her.
- 2013-12-02 16:49 silver
- Has there been any luck with rescue space? I rang about 15 rescues mostly SBT ones on Sunday but everyone full - some did not ring back. Paws x'd better luck today. How do donations work - does Dog Lost co-ordinate this or do we just send through to DW? Hope Millie still with us XXX
- 2013-12-02 11:33 l0vesustrihar
- is there any update if any rescue space was found for her , Been sharing like mad on facebook - Truly hope space has been found her for x
- 2013-12-02 10:38 SH
- I am MORE than happy to donate also, please do not let this lovely dog be PTS, it is not her fault she is the way she is. I know of three different people who have managed to changed their dogs behaviour towards other dogs just with a bit of time, love & effort. If I didn't have 4 dogs of my own I would take her on but all I can do is offer to pay towards her care until her forever home is found x
- 2013-12-02 08:33 Claire Gresty - Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - North West
- I'll donate too, hope there is a happy ending for this beautiful girl xxx
- 2013-12-01 21:18 Unknown
- R. Couldn`t agree more. Am willing donate too. Hope someone will give her a second chance, she has obviously been through a lot: no fault of her own. Paws xd.

- She's Beautiful! :).
The 'Owner' Or Whoever Done This To Her Wants Bloody Tied Up & Left To Rot!!!
Poor Little Girl Must Of Been So Scared. :(
Hope She Has A Second Chance.

- Very very sad that this poor soul has been so tormented. Obviously assessor knows the extent of the aggression and will do what is best for Millie. Am willing to donate too.
- 2013-12-01 08:35 Paula Griffin's Mum
- So sad, we will donate too, that's lovely Carol that you're rehoming a Battersea dog :-) could PawPrints help this little girl? I can't bear the thought of her being pts - it's early days if she's dog aggressive, sounds like she's been through an awful lot, she's obviously very frightened & traumatised, thinking of you little Millie xx
- 2013-12-01 03:16 Carol
- I will donate , what about Battersea there maybe a space soon as I am down to re home a dog from them :-) but they won't turn her away , xxx
- 2013-11-30 22:41 Bo
- Can we pay for her to stay where she is until there until there is space?
- 2013-11-30 22:14 silver
- I feel so sad to read this and there are so many staffies and bull breeds on death row. I will try and contact some rescues tomorrow and although not that hopeful it is worth a try. Perhaps we can all make some phone calls in our own areas?

- Nikki (Tyler`s mum) You may have given some hope to Millie`s "Would be" owners. I know of two dogs who were extremely aggressive towards other dogs (Separate owners) because in both cases they were not socialized with other dogs. Muzzles were put on one dog, and was let losse to run around with the other dogs. After about two months, he now plays quite happily with other dogs, (Muzzle free) and looks as if to say "This is fun". The other dog had a little training too, and is now fine with it`s own species. Both because of Non-socialization. Hope there will be a happy ending for Millie. Paws, and fingers xd.
- 2013-11-29 21:10 Nikki (Tyler's mum)
- Poor little girl, I really hope a suitable rescue comes forward as it sounds like she has not had a good start to life. When we rescued my GSD x Rottie (privately rescued) he was very aggressive towards both other animals and people as he had been mistreated and not socialised. With the help of a fantastic rescue (wood green) and lots of time and patience he is slowly starting to learn that good behaviour to others = lots of tasty bits of sausage. Now he is one fat but better behaved little man. Please please please let a rescue give her a chance xxxxLast edited: 2013-11-29 21:13:20 by Nikki (Tyler's mum)

- What a sad, sad update. Many thanks to the dog warden who has done absolutely all that could be done, and to the kennel staff who have tried to help her. Lets hope a rescue space comes up over the weekend
- 2013-11-29 17:51 l0vesustrihar
- Have shared with some of my rescue contacts on Facebook , i know they are full to bursting too - but got to try :-( Hope it works out for Millie x
- 2013-11-29 17:35 lesleyjane
- Sad but everything you say, DW, is true. Hope she will get a space somewhere that can put in some time with her rehab, but in all reality I think it is unlikely.
- 2013-11-29 17:30 Broxtowe dog warden
- Update on Millie - thank you for everyones kind comments unfortunatly i am seeing this more and more- thousands of staffies are being put to sleep all over the UK because of irresponsible owners over breeding them and not enough rescue spaces for them. As a staffie owner myself this breaks my heart. Due to the circumstances of how she was found we have given Millie extra days to come on from her trauma and the kennel staff have been giving her lots of time and sitting in with her each day and she is getting more confident so today she had her assessment as you know stray dogs are only kept for 7 days (this council holds them for 9 ) they are then passed to a rescue if a space is available for them. Unfortunatly she failed her assessment she is highly aggressive towards other dogs - it may be that she has never been socialised or she may of been trained to react we will never know. I have a duty of care to make sure that a rescue dog will be safe in society no one wants their dog attacking, so i have contacted a number of rescues today who specialise in rehabilitation they have responded back they are full to bursting already. If i can't find her a space i'm afraid we will have no alternative to put her to sleep on Monday. i understand that this is not the outcome we all wish for so if anyone knows of a rescue that may be able to help please ask them to contact me. and fingers crossed. x

- Unfortunately some people seem to have no compassion for any other living creature so have no problem just dumping animals that have outgrown their use. Difficult to imagine this poor scared little dog will become a loving loyal companion for the right owner in time given the way she has been treated. Animals can sure teach us a thing or too sometimes. Shame on whoever left her there. You will have to answer for your actions one day.Hope she finds a loving home.
- 2013-11-29 13:17 Esther
- I am sure you are right Janiejewel, but as someone who has worked with and lived with animals all my life I still find it amazing people seem to get no attachment to animals who share there life.
- 2013-11-29 12:19 Unknown
- Ps Not excusing it by the way as you can contact animal shelters for help.
- 2013-11-29 12:17 mathers22
- He tells it all in the expression in his face - he's probably never experienced any love in his life. Hope he gets a second chance xx
- 2013-11-29 12:15 Unknown
- Esther. I think some people see a lovely cute puppy, or a nice dog, and dont realize the commitments that goes with it like: Feeding, "Watering", vet fees, walking, grooming, holidays (Kenneling), and lots of love, and attention too. They just dont think. This applies to cats too, and other animals except thet dont need walking normally. Keep us posted please.

- Esther. I thought of that too, about how she had been treated before being abandoned, and probably half starved by the sounds of it. I am sure Millie will find her forever home soon, with loving owners who will spoil her rotten: Millie you deserve it; bring it on. Keep us posted.
- 2013-11-28 19:14 ClaireC
- So many sad stories and probably more to come! Dear Millie I do hope you find that extra special home where you will be forever loved. This is no more than you deserve. Please any special person reading about this dog get in touch and make her dreams sweeter xx
- 2013-11-28 18:42 Esther
- What I think is so sad is not just the abuse this dog has been through by being abandoned in this way, but what else it must have been through before this happened. Thanks so much to the dog warden, I really hope Millie gets a great home. Please can you keep us informed of how she gets on.

- Just to update you We have named her Millie and after a nice warm bath and food she is slowing becoming more trusting each day she is still understandably a little nervous but will come and sit on your knee for cuddles. she is currently being boarded at Babbington Hall rescue at Awsworth Nottingham and will need a special forever home to help her get over this trauma. please share her details with anyone who may be able to give her a special home.thanks
