- As a dog lover if I had given a dog a home in the same circumstances I would be upset.
I would have to give the dog back to the rightful owner.
I cannot imagine how I would feel if it was my dog.
Please new owner have a heart, I am sure you have.

- I know it's been a while now but what was the outcome of this very distressing situation? Did Rocky get home? Thank you.

- If this dogs new owners are real dog LOVERS.
They would give him back.
I love dogs but could never ever keep a dog in this situation.
It is true they could rehome any dog .
The real dog owns must be devastated.
Fingers crossed they have a change of heart.
That would be the best Christmas present the owners could get.
Fingers crossed they have a change of heart and put themselves in the owners position.
Come on guys have a heart and think what is best. - 2013-12-03 10:02 Pointerlover
- This is so bad that new owners or rehoming kennels cannot see that this little o should not be returned to his rightful family. There are so many dogs that have to go through the ordeal of being passed from owner to owner without this little one . He doesn't need it ,he has a family that love and want him. The people he has been given to have had him so little time and they could rehome another little one that really is looking for and needs a new home. Thinking of Rocky at this time xx

- We have this little one on GSDs UNITED and i was so very sad to read the dreadfully heartbreaking saga about being rehomed too quickly; obviously I quite agree with staying calm and objective - - - - there have to be details of to whom this one was rehomed and I am wondering if the doglaw man might be able to help and would like to suggest the owner maybe contacts him or at least looks at his website to see if he will indeed be able to assist here ??? The website is :
www.doglaw.co.uk
hope this helps a little and this little one is returned to the rightful owners very quickly. - 2013-11-28 16:21 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Monday just gone is the 25th...that's 7 days....The best way here is to be calm...contact the warden/kennels send them photos of your family with your dog and ask them to forwarld to new owner...who I am sure may be sympathetic to your case....legaly you have no leg to stand on....so play it cool please.

- I didnt report him until monday just gone to the Wardens as I din't now about them. I rang Crawley, banstead, Mole Valley & Horsham which was the area of the kennels where he was sent. None of them had any log of him. I am too finding this completley out of order. There website states that if a dog is handed to them they have to wait 7 days for the owner to contact but he was already rehomed on the Monday so surely that is too quick! The lady was very heartless when I told her his name was Rocky she said no his name is Darcy now and he is very happy with the new owners, did not want to help me at all. I am devesated I just wish she would tell the people she had given him to, to to see if they would give him back.

- Some questions Michaela - when did you report him missing to the dog warden? When was he found and handed in to the vets? When did they pass him to kennels and when was he rehomed. As far as Im aware the kennels/vets should have made the dog warden aware they had found him and then he had to be kept by the dog warden for 7 days in order for his owner to have time to claim him. Only then could they put him up for rehoming. It appears some of these steps have been missed? Did you inform the dog warden or call these kennels looking for him - if so when did you do it? Just trying to help as something about this sounds wrong

- Had a phone call this morning to say he was found at and given to Copthorne Vets so I rang the vets and they had given him to Hammerpond Kennels. I have just heard back from them and they have all ready rehomed him on Monday and will not get him back :-( Thank you so much for all of your help though.

- Suggest you also inform the Mole Valley dog warden and check Rosemar in Leigh which is used by the Reigate and Banstead dog warden.

- You should be out putting posters up, the dog is not microchipped and anybody who has picked him up will contact the dog warden. Ring the dog warden for Tandridge as well as Reigate/Redhill. Local rescues are Thornbridge (in Shipley Bridge Lane near the Shipley Bridge pub next to Green Lane and Dellbruck in Smallfield at the other end. Both of which now have details. Which rescues have you checked?

- Hi Thanks Ive not heard fo that kennels so if you could do that, that would be great. I have rung some of the other rescue centres and the local vets but nothing found so far.
