Police are appealing for information after a dog was stolen in a robbery at a house in Birstall.

At around 10.35pm on Friday, 6 December, a man entered the house on Branwell Avenue and demanded that the victim handed over her dogs.

The suspect then threatened the victim with a knife and put her two-year-old French bulldog into a basket. He also took an iPad before running away through the front door.

The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a dark blue bomber jacket, dark blue jeans and a blue woolly hat with a white zig-zag design on it.

He was also wearing a face covering which was possibly a balaclava, and white motorbike-style gloves.
