I am sure you have so many happy memories of your time together and it is these times that will help you through. Jesse new love and loyalty from her time spent here with you. She leaves a paw print on your heart that will never leave. RIP Jesse now young once again xx

How wonderful that she had so much love and care, and the end of her life was spent in comfort, safety and peace. What a fantastic gift Emma gave her - and when she got away, how wonderful of Team Jessie getting her safe again. It is for us that we grieve - she was given Heaven on earth, after the hell she had been through. This is just a small step for her. I am so sorry for your loss, and so grateful that there are people like you all who care so much

A very sad post on Jessie's group last night.
It's with a heavy heart that I write on behalf of Emma (Jessica's) wonderful hooman.
Sadly Jessie passed over to Rainbow Bridge today after a short battle with lymphoma.
She touched so many hearts. Emma you gave her the most amazing life. The way she looked at you was truely heartwarming. You were her world.
Achileas for all your love and guidance from her time in Romania, you gave Jessie her life here in the UK.
Thank you Holly Hedge for stepping in and helping when she needed help.
RIP Jessie. X

I know its silly but I just had to come back in here and check it was true. After I'd commented I closed pc down and had a snooze and wasn't sure I'd not dreamed it all! Welcome home Jessie - you have no idea how many people have smiles on their faces because of you. Any chance of update on how and when etc? I know its not necessary but it makes us that have been following feel a bit more a part of the success ...

This post we are so pleased to say can now go to reunited.... We caught Jessie early hours of this morning. She is currently in a local Rescue Centre where she will be obtaining vet care ect, before she goes into her foster home. Full story on Lost and Found pets in Bristol/South Glos.
Sue
We are in the process of trying to gain her trust all over again. We were getting so close. As I reported a few posts ago. She vanished for a few days. And since then we are back to where we were a few months ago. She's obviously been spooked. And the trust we had gained has gone. We will get there. And we do take on board all suggestions. She's being seen from afar. And was seen this morning. She's eating well. Last edited: 2014-07-17 21:03:30 by Sue

Jessie's team will contact SWWR, one of the team has been in contact with them before so they may be able to come up with new ideas on how we can get Jessie to a safe place. At the moment the most important thing is for her to be left in peace so that she stays in the area where she can be monitered and has access to regular food and water.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Thanks Hazel, I will make sure Sue is aware of your post. :-)

No worries Poochpal....I wouldn't even contemplate it!
I have one tweet reply from Bristol mum who suggests @SWWR if someone wants to follow it up maybe? "@Tallulah2000: @snowbirdie @ASPolice I use @SWWR. There's a good man living in Bs7 ( volunteer)"

Please check with the numbers above before carrying out anything. Sue and team Jessie have worked so hard all this time and welcome suggestions but we really don't want anyone frightening Jessie out of the area. We all want her safe and there has been a lot of work behind the scenes. The dog warden has offered the use of any equipment and help when appropriate.
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Just started an appeal on twitter, Happiness for experienced user of this trap...it looks very effective and the least stressful if she can be coaxed with Sue and team Jessie great work ...just another avenue to consider xx

Bach Rescue Remedy is excellent ...I have some here if you want to try ? I can come down tomorrow early evening with it ?x
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Try the Bach Rescue Remedy as mentioned in my post 30/6if you are feeding and leaving water, it relaxes people and animals.

Sounds good SURLEY someone in the area is experienced in that field fingers crossed it won't be much longer xxxx
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Could we not put an appeal out in Bristol... Someone who is proficient at using it ....there must be someone in such a big city? I have a journalist friend who use to work at the Post if you think an appeal via the paper would be of use? X
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
Using a trap net can be done SAFLEY if launcher has a rope tied to the net also that way when it's launched you still have control of the net and hopefully the dog is in the net so it can't run as you still have a line attached x which you hold at all times x it's only a suggestion as this poor girl has been on the run a long time xx it's time to come home Jessie xxx

Good to catch up tonight Sue, it's a shame Jessie seems to have taken a step back as far as trusting her team. Please can we ask again that NOBODY CHASE OR TRY TO CATCH Jessie. If seen in day time please report sighting to the numbers above.
Sue
We are currently trying to gain her trust. We feel she's been spooked by something. She's much more nervous and aware of every movement and noise. Maybe she was chased. We're asking if anyone sees Jessie not to chase her as she will run. Thankfully she's still in the area and getting nourishment and water. We are tryingeverything safe that we can. I promise you all.
Sue
A trap net has been suggested. But it's very open and if it wasn't done correctly and she ran. We would have no chance of keeping up with her. And if we did loose sight of her and she was tangled in a net this could be disastrous. And to be honest. We'd need spiderman to launch it. As she'd never stay close enough for us to cover her. Last edited: 2014-07-14 22:30:52 by Sue
maxine
what is a trap net and how does this work? perhaps we could talk about this idea ladies, happiness, hazel and sue wood ?
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
That's great to know and I check here for updates regularly as this is not far from my home ....so if you need any help, support no matter how small just let me know ....eventually it will happen but at least she's eating and drinking and knows where she can do that safely xx
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
If she is in that area a while could she not have a trap net launched on her to bring her to safety x
Sue
Sorry again for lack of updates. Jessie is being seen daily. And is regularly being fed. We are trying everything to get her to safety. Yes we've tried a trap. But she's too wise and even with her favourite ham in it, she'd rather go without the ham. The area she visits regularly is very open plan. No secure gardens. Just 3 ft fences. I'm guessing that's why she goes there as she feels safe. Not hemmed in. We will never stop trying. And are hoping to have her safe very soon. It's not as easy as it sounds to catch a feral dog that doesn't want to be caught. Believe me. She's well and having regular food and water. Fingers crossed she'll be safe soon. Today's sighting was on Thackeray which is still in Horfield. Last edited: 2014-07-10 16:21:14 by Sue
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
Can a trap be set up then if she is there regular x
Sue
Sorry for lack of info. Still having regular sightings in Horfield. On a regular basis. One main feed station in situ. She visits regularly.
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Try Bach Rescue Remedy on her, 3 drops in food and 3 drops in water, you can't overdose on it. I've used it on dogs for years before they did the pet one. Most chemists sell it about £7 a bottle, it's made from flower essences and has been going since the 1930's, cured my rescue greyhound of firework phobia and I live in outer London, it lessens the fear. If you decide to try it I can post more info.

Thanks for the update Sue and the new photos, one which I will add here. So sad that she is so timid.

Another sighting on Montreal Ave. ate some food. Sadly the slightest noise and she flees. Food and water will be there every night. Moving bowls nearer to the house each night.
Foxcote
Is it possible that Jenny and tiga can help as there have been sightings? Keeping everything crossed for you
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Bumped due to the latest sightings, thanks for the photo Sue Wood, she just looks like she was waiting at the gate to be let in!. You have some really dedicated people looking out for her. I wonder if it was knowing there were dogs in the house that attracted her to that gate? Poor girl is lonely.
Sue
Jessie was seen at approximately 3.30 am by lost and found pets in Bristol and South Glos member. On Montreal Ave Horfield.
Sue
Another sighting. Toronto Rd. Heading to Filton Ave. Takes me 10 mins to get there. So have to second guess which way she'd go. Drove all round popular areas where she's been seen. Missed her again. :-(
maxine
i just had a long chat with rosemary who initially had jessie, she confirms she has her passport and chip, which she will send to me via email today, and will support everyone in their endeavour to catch jessie...come on jessie...stay safe and we hope to catch u very soon, thanks to all those lovely people feeding....xx
Unknown
Paws xd for Jessie to be home soon.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
There are three feeding stations nearby. The biggest problem is that she is living in an area with several urban fox families and several residents put food out for them so she never goes hungry.. hopefully it will be the contact with a friendly dog that brings a result.
Unknown
Wonderful man..... maybe st up a feeding station there for her , heres oping he can win her trust xx
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Message from Sue Wood this evening,

Phone call from a man who saw her. He sat down in the middle of the field and waited for Jessie to approach. She was heading over to him and his friendly dog when another dog walker appeared with 2 noisy dogs and Jessie fled. This guy knew exactly what to do. So he's going to keep going there and phone me.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
I have now added Sue Wood's number as the second number as I have not been able to get a reply on the original one and Sue is the person who is heading the team in the area of the sightings.
maxine
jessie stay safe and well...i hope you wonderful ladies earn her trust very very soon. xx
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
What time of day/night are most of the sightings?
Sue
Beverly Rd in Horfield. Sadly by the time I get there she's gone. Spent time driving around. This road again is local.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Good to know that she is still around the same area and we are now more aware of her previous life so Sue and Sam know her likes and dislikes. Bumping again, please keep those sightings coming in.
Sue
Yeh the power of the poster. Had a call earlier. Again Jessie was seen at the top of Bishopthorpe Road earlier today. Sam popped out to have a look. Sadly no where to be seen. At least she's ok.
Sue
Sighted yesterday. Top of Bishopthorpe Rd. Horfield Common and St. Andrews Park. All within the same walkabout. Again either spooked or ran off. :-(
First sighting was at one of the feed stations. Last edited: 2014-06-08 13:32:01 by Sue

Sighted during the rush hour yesterday on Montreal Ave and Sheridan Rd. :-(
Sue
Another sigh by lost and found group member. 1.10am. Jessie was seen walking along Sheridan Rd in Horfield with a fox. She looked well.
Sue
Posted in the Horfield News group on Facebook just. If its the same i dog i have just seen her coming from sheridan rd towards toronto rd in Horfield.
Sue
BMdevon. There have been no sightings of Jessie over the suspension bridge. So hopeful all traffic and hoards will be a safe distance away. I'm glad Rock Bristol is over the bridge. Unlike last yr it was held at Blaise Castle. Then I'd be concerned. X
BMdevon
Lets Rock Bristol is on at Ashton Court next weekend. I know its not that close to Horfield but it worries me that there will be so many more people in the area for four days. Please Jess let yourself be brought home before then! Anyone else feel like its so close but so far!

early morning sighting at one of the local feed stations. X

Another early morning sighting. Approx 1.10am Montreal Ave. She was with foxes.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Bumped again, more people are becoming aware of Jessie's story so sightings are being reported more frequently now. There is work going on behind the scenes towards getting Jessie to safety and Rosemary is being updated with progress.
Sue
Couple more sightings in Ruskin Grove and Montreal Ave in Horfield. One during the early hours and the other this afternoon. Apparently local residents leave out food for the foxes.
I have been driving all round the area. Sadly no luck. Last edited: 2014-05-28 18:22:22 by Sue

It is now thought that the man in the post below may have been trying to catch Jessie rather than dumping a dog.
lostandfoundpetsinbristolandsouthglos
Taken from my group - My Mum just witnessed a medium sized retriever cross being abandoned. A man who had a burgundy T shirt let the dog out of the car then soon after drove off. This happened in the Horfield area near the beehive pub. The dog ran across the road nearly got hit by a car and ran up the road opposite. If any1 sees a dog matching this description on it's own within the Horfield area pls ring the RSPCA - Jessie... Last edited: 2014-05-27 18:52:04 by lostandfoundpetsinbristolandsouthglos

More sightings this morning in Butterfield Close, heading offtowards Rodbourn Road and Horfield Leisure centre.
Helpers in the area have set up regular feeding station and setting up a camera to make sure it is her that is taking the food.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Sightings reported on Eden Grove/Wordsworth Road area, still in the same area as previous sightings.
Advice has been sent to the people helping in the area, Jessie has proved that she is very capable of looking after herself and appears to have joined some foxes and their cubs. I think her biggest threat is traffic but she does seem to have good road sense unless she is frightened or chased. She is covering a large area and all sightings are being plotted on a map.

Sounds very positive. Any more news on this girl, did search happen?

First I must thank all of you in Bristol for all you are doing for this dog whether it's Jessie or another similar dog. Might be worth postering more of the area do you think? Let us know if you need any help on Saturday x

Taken from my group.. "That sandy colour dog missing from weston wasi has just been in my street! My partner just tried to go get her but she got scared and ran off with a fox! Its butterfield close in manor farm and she went off in the direction of bishopthorpe close" we are organising a search on Saturday to try to catch this baby.. we are not completely sure if it is Jessie or not, as we are in Bristol... however we do have Poochpal South West on the group, this dog is a very strong resemblance to Jessie.

From posts on Facebook I have seen that the person who saw the stray last night has been in touch with Rosemary and is liaising with her. So pleased that this appears to be coming together at last. Jessie has been out too long.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
More sightings of the dog believed to be Jessie in the Bristol area. I have asked for all sightings to be recorded here as there are too many Facebook groups reporting. Some really good work going on in the area but it's not possible to follow all the threads and don't want too many people wandering the streets alone at night. We need just 2 designated people as points of contact/reporting and just one feeding station set up. Thank you to all who have tagged me this morning, it has taken nearly an hour of jumping from group to group and still don't know WHERE she was seen. When seen again PLEASE TAKE A PHOTO.

Just had a text from Raul's owner - he is home. So the dog in BS10/surrounding area isn't him but could be another "yellow Lab type dog. We must have 2 dogs being seen, one in Bristol, could be Raul, 67038, and the one we need to concentrate on in Weston Super Mare, BS22. Here is the latest comment from that area:

Ok, so there is another potential sighting just come in from one of the WSM sites which says "Charlie Astridge I cannot believe my eyes!! Spent days trying to catch this baby!! Got so close up by kewstoke weeks and weeks ago but some t**t scared her off!! Why now are they trying to look for her tho? Sorry but I searched everywhere to see if someone had reported her missing and couldn't find nothing! My friend THINKS she may of seen her in kewstoke last week however she turned around to go back and check and she was gone! Please inbox me myself and others have tried so hard to help her."

Thank you Alison, I was going to put in a request for extra alerts but you have beaten me to it. There are more comments of sightings on Facebook, the latest that I have seen was on 15th April at 4.30am, Manor Farm, BS10 and again heading for Kingswood Park last Thursday.

There have also now been possible recent sightings around the Bradley Stoke BS10 area. I wonder if some alerts could go out around that area. There definitely seems to be a dog on the loose broadly fitting the description of Jessie. There are now a number of people aware that if they see this dog, it might be missing Jessie so really hoping it will bring some more sightings.Last edited: 2014-05-03 21:58:52 by Sarah

Bumping the page due to the Facebook reports but sadly the sightings were a while ago. Hopefully this will bring fresh news. Copied from Facebook:
It was kewstoke, locking, weston super mare, banwell, bournville everywhere around them area's and beginning of this year maybe? Idk Shelly Spiller when was it?!

It's about 20 miles away from where lost (approx). It is possible of course that she was initially picked up and transported but may have just escaped, however, apart from arriving in Weston S Mare the rest is fairly rural I would have thought so I guess it's possible to do it on foot.
Sarah
I posted this today onto the Doglost South West facebook page - and a lady has put a possible sighting up of a dog that got just a meter or so from her and she and her friend are convinced this is the same dog. The discussion is on that page if the owner/fosterer could join it. Was apparently seen regularly and people were feeding her but couldn't catch her. As I said, best to join the page to get the full info. It was in the Weston Super Mare area. https://www.facebook.com/groups/doglostsouthwest/ Last edited: 2014-05-03 21:57:54 by Sarah
