- Where Found Jack's body was found under some undergrowth some distance from his home. It looks like he took himself off to die peacefully. He has been taken home to be buried.
- Date Reunited 22 Dec 2013
- Other Info Our loved family golden retriever was let outside at 10pm at home in Doddycross and he dissapeared. He has never run away before and does not go on long walks due to stiff joints so does not travel far. He has a very thick light coat and has slight pigmentation on his nose (light brown). He has recently had an operation so his hair may appear shorter just above his left sholder and he is wearing a red collar. We are desperate to find him and would appreciate news good or bad.

- Juliette - I'm from Team Joshua, the Golden stolen from Marden in Kent. He has been missing a year this week, but we are still actively looking for him. While we are looking, we look for Jack too. I so hope your boy is found quickly, and I know how you are feeling. If you'd like to post a pic of him on Joshie's facebook page, please join MissingGoldenJoshua and we will share it. You may like to join Golden Retrievers England UK on Facebook and share on their page. Lots of GR members on there. I will share for you too. Get him in your local paper, poster everywhere, share share share! Hold on in there xxx

- Juliette we went the back roads (and sort of got lost a bit) but have put 25 laminated ones out on telegraph poles (done them both on the same pole) but they are between South Pethwin ( I think its called that) and Menheniot.
I ran out of posters that we had laminated before I got to your village and i am sorry.
I got a lot of unlaminated ones for him if you need them? Will get some more out for him but we did places like Kelly Bray, Callington and them over North and South Hill (bumped into a dog walker even at 23.00 lol she has taken both your lad and our Pup and will put them in the village hall for us)
I think i might have been too far north to have done much good for you but got confused s to where Doddycross was and by the time we found it I only had paper ones left and in this weather they wouldn't have stayed for the night.
We got to get your boy back, he has such a lovely face x
Just thought I will link him up to the Pups facebook page again and ask folk to keep an eye out. We will find him so hang in there and how old is he? xLast edited: 2013-12-21 03:07:05 by Seeks - 2013-12-20 17:32 Juliette Burt
- Thank you so much. I am in Menheniont tomorrow so I can poster for them there. I will also try and print a few more of your posters. Juliette
- 2013-12-20 08:50 Seeks
- Juliette we can poster Menheniot post office if you like? We not able to go until tomorrow now but have 25 laminated and 25 not for Jack so will do them in the North bits as well as for ours.
I know we have little hope for ours this side of a long time but so would like Jack home for Christmas.
You hang in there x - 2013-12-19 07:46 Angie Layzell:
- Hi Juliette. Chris jelly is my sister & they are aware of Jack, & getting posters up in Polperro.
Hope you get some news on him soon.
Angie xx - 2013-12-19 06:33 Baggy Dog
- The lady who is still missing her flatcoat, Amy, has a night vision monocular which she says is great (albeit she hasn't found her lovely dog yet). May be pushing it now before Christmas but hopefully you could order one to help you. But let's hope the dog at Newquay is yours ... fingers crossed here.

- fingers crossed here too for you X

- I have also text you Juliette but a male golden retriever has been found in Newquay and is now with the dog warden
- 2013-12-18 22:54 sallybee
- Hi Juliette - sorry to see there is no further news yet on Jacks return. Have you called Chris and Mike Jelly (Caralowen) Golden Retrievers at Looe......they are breeders and have been there some years so a local/postman or someone who associates them with Goldens, might have been in touch if they've spotted him, to see if they had lost one?
Also since he is an elderly gentleman with stiff joints it is pretty unlikely he will be able to go far. Have posters been put up at Menheniot Post Office and have you asked at the school amongst the parents - perhaps give them a leaflet too? How far are the woods from you? Can you get hold of a pair of night vision goggles or monocular to use and see if it picks up his body heat incase he went of to the woods after a nice smell and simply lost his way? - 2013-12-18 17:32 Juliette Burt
- So wonderful that Copper has been reunited. We just needs ours home now. Wont give up hope for Jack or your pup. Thank you for postering for him aswell we really appreicate it. We have tried to get them out at home. If i get the oppurtunity to get out again I will do some for you too. Juiette x
- 2013-12-17 18:14 Seeks
- Juliette I am glad it wasn't him though its a horrible shame for someone.
I went over to help pick Copper up and we were fairly near to you... take heart from the fact the lady who had Copper had taken him in and didn't want him to go to a dogs wardens kennel so hadn't told them (I have explained she must tell them but they will let her keep the dog till owner is found if it happens again) I left her a poster of your lad and mine and I know she will look for us both. Its near to you and so many places that might have taken your boy in and done the same thing so hang in there and we will get that area postered for your lad and my girl this week. x - 2013-12-17 14:14 Juliette Burt
- It wasnt Jack who was found at Chiverton. The search continues. Thank you for all your help and support. Juliete x

- Thank you. I have also contacted Dan Tucker who said that it looked like a dark golden colour rather a lighter one like Jack. I will do some more research.
The other link below I gather they have been reunited? Thank you for your help.

- For those unfamiliar with 'Chiverton Cross Roundabout' this is a large roundabout on the A30 west of Truro, the rough postcode here is TR4 8HS. RIP doggy :-(

Long way away I guess and I'm not sure that the head shape entirely matches but worth a check. Both lost and found dogs have white looking feet. Fingers crossed
that you'll get him home soon. UPDATE: a FB post has now said that the one I have mentioned in Redcar has been reunited with its owner.Last edited: 2013-12-16 10:37:52 by Sarah - 2013-12-15 21:48 Seeks
- Did some posters for him tonight in and around Liskard. I will be going further up as soon as I can and will poster for him with ours as I get there.
You hang in there and I so hope he will soon be home x - 2013-12-12 22:16 sallybee

Thank you.

- Hi Juliette,
If I can print off some posters I will put some around Plymouth area if you would like me to? & I will ask my sister to put some up around Polperro.

- I know its a long way, but a male golden retriever has been found today in Lancashire. If they are stolen they can turn up anywhere.. doglost ref 61267
I hope he is yours and you get him back very soon. If not I am thinking about you and your lovely dog and will watch all 'found' posts for him xx - 2013-12-12 14:21 Seeks
- We can't get any out tonight but have arranged to tomorrow night and if we widen our pups area East instead of West we can do Lostwithiel over towards Dobswall then out to Liskard and out towards Saltash before back over towards Bodmin and will make sure your lads posters are out in the same area.
Will check he hasn't been found beofere we leave but will get posters out for him as we do ours.
I know how hard it is to have one gone, especially if your thinking he's been taken and I know also how hard it is to get help so at least you have us even if we have not done enough for our own yet.... Its all such a big area isn't it?
Hope he is home soon and did put him up on the pups fb page as well. hang in there x - 2013-12-12 14:14 LoopyLurcher
- Have you checked with all the vets around to see if someone has brought him in? Would be worth a try & email them the poster to put up in waiting rooms. Fraid I don't have a printer so can't poster but will email the local vets around Callington if you haven't already done so?
- 2013-12-11 17:00 Juliette Burt
- Thank you for your help.

- We printed a few and put them up tonight with our ones. Hope you soon find him and will print up some more and put them with ours in Bodmin area out towards Liskard Thursday if he is not home.
Fingers crossed he will be home before then though - 2013-12-10 20:10 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- Hi Juliette, I'm not sure why you haven't received my emails but have just resent them. There should be two. One with advice and the other with sites with dogs for sale. Please let me know if you still haven't received them.
- 2013-12-10 13:36 Baggy Dog
- Very important to get posters up around the place. IF he's been taken from the garden then hopefully posters etc. would make him too hot to handle. I would be happy to produce A4 sheets for you which you can print off and cut out - give each 'business card' with your dog's details on to everyone you see. I don't check this page more than a couple of times per day but do email me if you'd like a PDF emailed to you. Best email address is info@safedog.co.uk.

- Hi Thank you for calling this morning but i havent recieved your email yet. jaburt2011@live.co.uk. Thank you for all the help and advice - all we want now is to have him home.
- 2013-12-10 12:41 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- I have spoken to owner and sent advice. No posters up yet so advised to do this asap. There is a possibility he was taken from the garden
- 2013-12-10 09:03 K9 Search Dogs
- i help run k9 search dogs, a charity that has trained bloodhounds to track missing and lost dogs. If you either give me a call on 07721597926 or visit the website www.k9searchdog.org I can hopefully help you.

- The Hailsham one could be Joshua who went missing a while ago perhaps?
- 2013-12-09 22:00 Seeks
- I so hope he will soon home. Its horrible when they go missing but hang in there.
On a practical note I am over Lostwiethiel ( its not that far really from where he went missing. Am posrering for our springer pup but will do some for him as well.
Really hope he will be safe and home soon - 2013-12-09 20:10 wensmum
- This is a long way away, but sometimes people find them and take them home before they try telling anyone

- I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Saw this on FB so it's doing the rounds. Worth postering like mad. Hope this lovely fella is home soon.
