- A nice lady called Toni caught her.
I think the dog was poorly.
However Toni was looking after her.
I do not know but think she is in good hands with Toni.

I have followed her from the start.

Just would love to know how she is getting on.
I know she was not well when Toni started looking after her. - 2014-03-21 06:48 Fiona

Hope Heidis lumps weren't nasties, thought and think of you both often when the the weather is wet, cold and windy Yvonne XX

- Thanks Janiejewel, it's working ok now , probably me, I'm a div on this machine.I hope they also make it law that all DW and rescue/rehoming kennels should have scanners and all found dogs should be advertised on a site like Doglost if not claimed.

- me n my girl. I would contact your local DL Co-ordinator who may be able to give you advice. I totally agree I wish ALL animals would be "Chipped" , as you said it would male life so much easier for all concerned. Roll on 2016 when it will become compulsory for all dogs to be microchipped. Both my cats are "Chipped"

- My fingers are crossed that Toni gets to keep this dog.
Toni has done a marvellous job catching here , and helping her. - 2014-01-22 12:32 Owl
- Toni had called the number on this page which is Redbridge, and registered the dog with them. Epping Forest now have the details also, so all is sorted.
- 2014-01-22 09:40 Owl
- Have spoken with DW who does not have details, so I don't know what happened. DW now has Toni's number so I expect everything will be sorted out. Last edited: 2014-01-22 09:41:12 by Owl

- Thanks Owl. Reggiemollieros I agree with you, yes the world would be a better place, I just wish that everbody would have their animals chipped and have the chip checked every year and then more lost and found could be re-united. Somewhere I read that there were houses round the golf course that were empty and being refurbished. I often wondered wether Heidi had been left behind when her owners moved away and that was why she stayed on the course for all that time.Last edited: 2014-01-21 21:56:18 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

- Hello Toni, thank you SO much for looking after Heidi, from the day you found out about her plight to today and making sure that she is safe and getting well. I saw the original gumtree ad and posted it all over hoping someone would help. When I saw the update on gumtree (I am guessing these were from Emilia) that the situation was desperate I posted again in the hope someone could go and assess the situation and get some help SO I was over the moon when you started posting updates. Anyone looking for their dog needs people like you, I wish there were more of you and the world would be a better place and I hope Heidi makes a full recovery. I thought you might be busy getting her well given the length of time she was out there on her own. I would like to send you some money too. My email is further down the page. I did email Ray (about a donation) but have not heard back so maybe I ought to phone him. lots of love to you and Heidi if I see any missing dogs that could be a match I will point them here and am aware she is not chipped as you stated that very early on. Sending you lots of love to pass on to Heidi xLast edited: 2014-01-21 05:58:52 by reggiemollieros

- Sorry my fault! My Dongle died on me this weekend....so called umlimited access then you get a message saying you are over your limit?
Its impossible for me to find email from Toni when so many come in....but I do remember Toni did email me...or rather remember the postcode IG7....Have just had the wonderful Ray on the phone supporting Toni...and if someone in admin can look it up that would be good...in the mean time can we all just keep calm and work this out TX...If it was me that informed you Claire...I am on need sleep time...so mistakes can be made.....Especially when others are in admin....THE WORST PERSON IS ME! So if anything has gone wrong its probably my mistake...so the dogs don't have to suffer for my inability do they? - 2014-01-20 16:12 ClaireC
- Hi Toni I have had confirmation back from the Admin Team at Doglost but to date they have not received your email with closer photographs and seem a bit puzzled about the response that you have from them. Perhaps you would be kind enough to re-send to them or even to me on bprealization@btinternet.com and I will ensure their safe delivery so that closer photograph can be put on this page.
Also, the Epping Forest Dog Warden, Lynne Cook, has asked if you could ring her on 0199256407733 in regard to this dog. She has explained to me that it is she that needs to have the dog registered with as a legal requirement as she was taken from her area. She has asked if this can be done urgently please. Apologies for being the postbox but there is a genuine concern that there is an owner out there looking for their dog and it could very well be Heidi!. Thank you. - 2014-01-20 14:13 Patlucky
- Toni you will be well supported here.
We all thank you for posting and what is more taking good care of her.
Happy to buy tickets too - 2014-01-20 08:59 ClaireC

- Toni thanks for posting.
My interest in the first place was a Black dog was missing near me back in September.
So I followed with interest it wasn't same one.
However I kept in touch with Emilia while she was feed her.
If you give her a good home that is fine by me as you have been looking after her.
I was worried about IF she had been stolen far from home and dumped.
Photos not been on here long.
How is she doing ?
Just like to say a very big thank you for caring .

- I am posting here for the people who are genuinely concerned about heidi. I sent an email with a photograph which went to head office I received an email to say they are passing it on. The dog warden has been contacted by me to do things legally and they have all of the details required. She is,under the vet and quite poorly as she is about 8or9 years old it takes time to recover every piece of information is in the email. And she was checked for a chip by the vet on first visit thank you to all of those that meant the support they gave to me when the journey was getting hard Toni
- 2014-01-19 21:24 ClaireC
- The Dog Warden has been contacted by me and she is very much aware of this dog when it was straying. She had tried on numerous occasions to try to catch her. RSPCA as far as I am aware will only take a dog if it is handed to them and that dog then does its 7 days in a Pound and if no claims it then goes up for rehoming. Again only a period of time is allowed before being PTS. It is always hoped that Toni has now made contact with the Dog Warden at Epping Forest and the number has been supplied to her through this site or through a coordinator. I do not know at this stage whether this legal process has been taken but I will try to find out. Likewise, I do not know who has scanned this dog for a chip.
- 2014-01-19 19:33 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Toni has said that "Heidi" doesn't have a chip, so I would think it would be difficult for any one claiming her to prove that "Heidi" was their dog, especially as she had been roaming for 5/6 months, and still would be if it wasn't for Toni, Ray and Owl. The RSPCA didn't do much if anything and as far as I know the Dog Warden made no contact with the area co-ordinator that contacted him/her. I eeven asked if there was anybody that had contacts with any GSD rescues, but no help was forthcoming. The only thing I can suggest is anybody that thinks "Heidi"is their dog, is to contact the Redbridge and surrounding areas Dog Wardens. I just hope that both Toni and Heidi are ok as the weather at the time was foul.
- 2014-01-19 18:43 Patlucky
- I cannot believe that anyone would take the time to catch a dog.
Yet isn't proud enough to share .
Toni did a brilliant job no doubt about that.
Hope Toni gets on a computer soon.

- Hi everyone, absolutely well done Toni for catching this sweet dog. Also well done to everyone who helped from the start including Emilia, Sara and Ray. Toni you did great to catch her and to take care of her. Please do contact the Dog Warden, as Claire mentions below. Reason being, we don't want any kind person to get in trouble for rescuing a poor dog. It is better you contact her rather than have her come calling. Once again, absolutely well done indeed. What's this about raffle tickets? Sounds good. x
- 2014-01-15 18:59 ClaireC
- Hi Toni, is it at all possible for you to post a more clearer phot of this dog for us please? I am reading some of the posts that are from owners of lost or stolen dogs and I can understand how they feel - they just want to get their dog back and are very desparate to see if this one is theirs! If you read some of the very desparate posts on the recently Found dogs -All Areas - Dog ID 63092 then you may understand that these folk are just as desparate. I am not sure whether you have now registered this dog with the dog warden but for ease her name is Lynne Cook and she can be contacted on 0199256407733. I do know that she does have a number of missing dogs from her area with anxious owners and of course this is a legal requirement for anyone that finds a dog. I do sincerely hope that you will find the time to at least give some owners the chance to see that this is/is not their dog. If you are struggling to get a photograph on, as you have intimated that your laptop is not working correctly then please feel free to email them me on bprealization@btinternet.com and I can get someone to put on this dog's page. Thank you for keeping "Heidi" safe for now. Don't forget there were a few of us who wanted to buy some raffle tickets from you and I for one will happily purchase some. Look forward to hearing from you and thank you x

- Perhaps the reason that there aren't any photos of "Heidi" or any posts from Toni is because on her last post 10.1 Toni says " SORRY I HAVE NOT POSTED ANY PICS YET I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE MY LAPTOP " I don't know Tony but am confident that she is doing everything that is right for Heidi. Thank you LG Conda for doing all you did for Heidi when she was months on the loose.

- Sue I have a picture taken in September of this dog.
A lady that worked at a house backing on the golf course took it and sent it to me.
This dog is all Black could be taken for a GSD but has quite long legs.
The ears are upright.
It is probably like said above a resembles a Kelpie.

- She has been scanned for a chip and does not have one. I am taking her to the vets to be checked over, it looks like she has tics. Which they will sort out and I will also have a better idea of her age and breed Sorry I have not posted any pics yet. I have not been able to use my laptop, I have some lovely pics and will post them ASAP

- Toni by all accounts is looking after the dog.
Posted that there would be pictures posted of her.
I cannot find any pictures posted.
I do personally have picture of her taken a couple of months ago.
It was taken when being fed in a back garden backing onto golf course. - 2014-01-10 18:38 ClaireC

I have a photo of her in Chigwell golf course.
I am wondering why she is in reunited?
Or is a she reunited? - 2014-01-10 09:27 ClaireC
- Looking forward to seeing a photo of her. Hope she is continuing to do well. I do also think that maybe she should be in the Found column as stated Sighted but now Caught just in case somebody is looking for their lost dog.

- I live backing onto the golf course, and I have fed the dog, black dog since she started coming daily in the early Autumn. I have pictures, I haven't seen her since last Friday. We built up a friendship, and i think she slept in my garden too sometimes. I would like to find out more and see her maybe. I am happy she is safe as I was so worried aobut her, and care about her very much, and she was gentle, and beautiful, I wonder if she was young as she was naive; she was also scared, but it seemed like she treked to me. Please message me, thanks I also have tarps if you need, I made her a shelter, she rarely stayed and now I know why. I am very glad she is safe, as I too have been worried sick, about her in this weather. When we tried to catch her she ran away. Where did you catch her and when?Last edited: 2014-01-10 05:22:04 by LG CONDA

- Like the name Toni and the reason, thought you might have called her Raine, Rayne and more Reign LOL . Do you still think she may be deaf or was it perhaps to do with the wind direction? I wonder if the lady that first reported her on Gumtree (Emilia) comes on here, I think Patlucky may have her contact details, as it would be nice to let her know that Heidi is safe now. She was so concerned about Heidi that she offered £100 to anybody that would capture her. So glad the right person managed it, good to read that she is settling in with you and yours. Perhaps she is a gsd X lurcher, as you said you recognised some lurcher traits and of course sofa surfing is one of them XX Yvonne

- Have just been catching up on this thread, as have not managed to for a while, & I am so pleased that 'Heidi' has now been caught.
Toni you have done a fantastic job. Well done also to Ray & everyone else involved. It makes it all worthwhile when a dog is safe/reunited. - 2014-01-08 19:48 Toni
- I do just have to say that we both slept so well last night! x
- 2014-01-08 19:43 Toni
- Hiedi Is the name she has been given as she had been hiding away for so long! I gave the lady a call about the two dogs that were taken from her home but they were German shepards. I have kept her number just incase I hear anything.
I will be getting some photos tom during daylight. She has been getting on well with my two dogs still and has found herself a place on my sofa. I cannot wait until she has put some weight on. I am going to start selling raffle tickets this weekend and as well as a picture of Heidi I will put a couple of my pictures up so people can see what they will be getting as prizes. I am still not sure what she is but she is beautiful!!

We can't keep calling her "HER" you aught to give HER a name. Is she a breed or a cross, not that it matters. Bet she thinks she's in heaven. Thank you, thank you, thank you and thsnk you to Ray too. - Keep checking on this page for updates. The weather was so awful last night I kept thinking about this girl out there alone. I feel glad when the morning is here & the night time is over for her. Toni you are doing so much to help her & thank goodness she has you. Your kindness to dogs is heart warming & I hope & pray you get this girl out of this situation sooner rather than later, & you get any help you need in getting her to safety really soon. Yes we are all thinking of you & this special girl. Pat xx

- Hi Toni not sure if you've got Ray's mobile number but the Kennels telephone number is 01564 823244. You are doing a really great job especially in view of this horrendous weather which is set for bad again over the next 3 days. Will keep watching this page but just wished I was nearer to be able to help out. We are all thinking of you though xx

- Toni have you got a name for her? You are doing great especially as weather is against you. I have got a couple of Aldi tarpaulins complete with cords in my car if her shelter gets destroyed and you need a cover, I've also got pond net pegs if you need them. I look in 2 or 3 times a day and am only in Hornchurch. Hope you have a happy, healthy 2014 Yvonne

- I think that people could also just send contribtions directly to Ray, I will find out how this is best done when I speak to him
Many thanks Toni

- Hi Claire I do understand what you mean and I just meant that where there is a will there is a way and I do not giove up easily. I have taken in ex fighting dogs and bait dogs, also Lurchers that have been kept in really bad conditions to be bred for Lamping. I have two dogs and I also have to be careful for their sakes too. I have been watching her for a while now and she has many traits of a lurcher that I took in and so I know that I have to be so patient and even though sometimes I could reach out and touch her I wont. She has started to come up to me whilst I am on the floor just sniffing me and my bag. I have already set up a cage where she sleeps with plastic over it and I have covered it in branches and leaves etc a blanket and bowls for food and water which she is using that has been set up for three days now and she is getting used to me returning to it etc. And thank you Lesely I will let you know when I have sorted out the raffle tickets and how I can get the ticket nmbers etc to those who kindly buy them. through email and paypal, I can also send some copies of my work to people, so they know what sort of artwork I do Thank you once again Happy New Year to everyone x

- Just wanted to say Happy New Year to you Toni and thank you for all your are doing for this dog. If you missed my earlier comment happy to make a contribution either by buying some raffle tickets or just making a donation. All the best Lesley xx

- Hi Toni, I was with Ray when we caught the GSD Dog ID 61187 in Wing. It does sound very easy to say that "if I catch her I would carry her home etc. Its not that easy for a dog that has been living "wild". She will need some expert care when she is caught and she will, almost certainly "put up a fight" out of fright and she will be very unsure of what is happening to her. She will then most definitely need to be "rehabilitated back into being re-socialised" and unfortunately this does or could take a very long time. It would be a rather unusual dog to think to itself this nice and cosy and I think I'll be good! I do agree that she most certainly does need to be trapped and by an experienced person such as Ray. I do know that the demands on Ray's time are enormous as he is "here, there and everywhere" as well as running his own kennels etc. In conversation with him the other day he has spoken about this dog and is very much aware that she needs help. I think what you are doing is such a great help for this dog by setting up the feeding station at such a regular time each day. Possibly what you could do if you think this dog is sheltering under a tree is maybe place a box dependent on the size of the dog with some form of waterproof covering and perhaps a blanket inside and then start to place the food inside so that the dog gets used to going into it. It is very much a waiting game but you are going in the right direction however frustrating and sad it seems. I know I didn't sleep very well whilst trying to catch the GSD!Last edited: 2014-01-01 10:56:43 by ClaireC

- This poor girl, yes Toni it must be so hard walking away from her but your doing the most wonderful thing for her & she is gaining so much trust in you. I hope that Ray can come back really soon as she does need to be caught before the really bad weather sets in. I think she is getting very attached to you & is trusting you more & more & I think she wants you to help her & rescue her from this place she's surviving in. Thank you Toni for everything you are doing for her, you are her lifeline xx
- 2013-12-29 19:25 Toni
- No she has not got a collar on, and today as I was hiding behind a tree making sure she ate before I left, and as I turned and looked down she was sniffing around my bag! Then she ran. I know that she is not taking shelter at night she is sleeping under a tree so that she can easily run when in danger. I can also confirm that she cannot hear very well as I was breaking branches etc as I crept up behind her and she did not move until she saw me. I am relieved everyday that I see her but really sad every night I leave her there. I have got friends that I can call on to get me if I get he,r if not I do not live that far about twenty mins I would carry her home if I have to. I am sitting here with my two dogs in front of the fire, and I cant stop thinking about her in this cold. I am taking her a blanket tomorrow hopefully she will use it and not just move away from it she needs something to snuggle up in. I am holding a raffle were I live to raise some money to give to Ray so that he may be able to come back with the cage and try again. the prize is a commission as I do a lot of dog portraits etc so hopefully it will help Ray with petrol money. Keep your fingers crossed and thank you for your messagesof support x

- Toni that's great news, have you got a plan as to what you will do when you capture her. ie she may not be willing to get in a car or van, can you call for some help if you're on your own? I don't suppose you can see if she's wearing a collar, and it's it not really the weather for hanging about in. Thanks for caring.xx

- That's great news! it sounds like she's gaining her trust in you Toni. Your doing an amazing job there & it's such a relief to know she's getting food bless her. - I looked on Wallace Kennels FB site looking to see if a similar dog had gone missing in the area, couldn't find any missing but there was a picture on there of this dog when it was first reported on Gumtree if that helps. I can't do much on this machine it's all beyond me but bet there is somebody out there that could transfer it over to here.

- Thanks for all you're doing for this poor dog, I don't live too far but am not physically able to help. Wonder if any of the local re-homing centres could help you as well. So the dogs a female and you don't think she's a GSD, be lovely if you can capture her, the RSPCA obviously gave up. Thanks again to those that are continuing the search

- Sorry did not mean to hit report this on last comment using phone really sorry just wanted to let everyone know that Ray was not able to catch her the day he came but is coming back. I have been sitting watching her all afternoon and made sure I watched her eat the food I put down for her as the blackbirds and foxes try to get to it first. I am going at the same time every day so that she gets used to me, and so I know she is eating something to see her through the cold weather. Desperately wanted her with me for Xmas but its going to take time. Happy Christmas to you all, will let you know if anything changes.
