Nanni Byron
Oh no, not another one, so sad - so many of these poor dogs escape. R.I.P. Beautiful Bibi.
MAZ
What a heartbreaking thing to happen ... so near to having a lovely life and now no more ... I think a harness is a good idea. RIP lovely Bibi XXX
DogLostMillypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
Run free at Rainbow Bridge little Bibi :((
So very sorry for all involved.xx

I am a volunteer dog walker, and I find using a harness you have much more control of the dog, especially those that pull on the lead. I have walked two dogs like this When they are excited about going "Walkies":-) The owner of the dog I am walking at present puts a collar AND a harness on the dog. (Border Collie) Shereen I dont think you are mad I think it`s a good idea, and I shall bear it in mind. This was a tragic accident, and no one is to blame.

Run free Bibi, so sorry you never got to enjoy a new start, but you are now safe & warm at Rainbow Bridge & have quite a few friends there. One day you will be reunited by all who loved you.
collieowner
So many of these poor dogs seem to get here only to escape their collars etc and get killed on our roads so so sad but as Bo has said perhaps a harness as well as a collar should be the norm from today onwards.
lesleyjane
Have been following the story from London and am so sad to read that her chance of a new life has been thwarted. Sorry for all involved, please don't get dispondant, keep up the good work with these poor foreign dogs.
anifox
Very, very sorry to read this news. How heart breaking for everyone involved. RIP lovely girl everyone had your best interests at heart and this is just such a tragic accident.
Shereen
To Sue when you pick up your dog in January...yes a harness (They can also slip out of these!)...but when I transport a dog ,I have a harness,joined/clipped to a collar by a lead (D rings)...and THEN a slip lead too!....people who see this and don't know what can happen think i'm mad But better to be safe!....this will not help Bibi and her owner was not to know...Just a terrible accident :(Last edited: 2013-12-23 14:03:04 by Shereen

Oh no this is so sad, i'm so sorry to hear this devestating news. RIP lovely girl I cannot believe you didnt get the chance of a new happy life bless you xxx
Sue
How very sad, my heart goes out to all those involved. We are due to pick up a rescue in January and been thinking, have read so many similar stories that a harness would be a good idea. I will definitely be getting one now. Sleep tight Bibi. X
Rachel - Bucks volunteer
After all this poor dog and her rescuers have been through - I am devastated for them all. What a dreadful ending to what should have been a wonderful new life for her. :-( RIP Biblica
Bo
Really sad news. Perhaps these particularly vulnerable rescue dogs could be put in harness's as a future 'norm' as quite a few are lost by slipping their collars. Thoughts with all who loved her.
MikeCartwright
Oh no that's terrible. So sorry to hear that.
Shereen
Such Tragic news...I am so sorry to all who loved her and tried to help her .Run free at the bridge Bibi.xxx

Just heard from Gillian, its not good news, Biblica was hit by a car on the A1 and is deceased :(
Katier
Not as far as I know Mike, I think Gillian was contacting some of the local radio stations today, but I will ask, thank you x
MikeCartwright
As soon as I'm on-route I'll let you know.
Has anyone contacted BBC Tees and BBC York?
Katier
PLEASE CAN WE RESEND THE ALERTS TO THE RELEVANT AREAS AGAIN, AS MORE PEOPLE MAY RESPOND TODAY, BIBLICA HAS NOT BEEN BACK TO THE GARAGE DURING THE NIGHT, SHE HAS NOT BEEN SEEN SINCE 11 AM YESTERDAY. IF ANYONE CAN HELP TO LOOK FOR HER OR TO PUT POSTERS UP TODAY THAT WOULD BE GREAT, WE ARE CHECKING BACK WITH THE DOG WARDEN AND THE POLICE FOR ANY REPORTS.
Katier
Thanks Mike, lets hope she makes her way back to Gillian at the services x
MikeCartwright
I spoke to a farmer earlier who said he had spotted her this morning on the track that runs parallel with the southbound A1. I showed him photo and he confirmed. He also reported his mate had seen it this morning also close by. He his circulating description and has a copy of the poster.
Katier
We may have the use of a trap, but we will need volunteers to help man it.
Katier
Can I just add that the sighting of her heading towards darlington has not been confirmed.
Amanda Shewan
Biblica was seen heading towards Darlington, please please all keep a look out for her
