Almost didn't read this as had seen that she was in a good foster home, such a shame but as everyone says at least she had some care and comfort for her last few days. Just hope that her illness wasn't the reason that she was out on the street. Thank you Hounds First for looking after her.
Carol

Hi all, sorry we have awful news. Petal has been to our vets in Suffolk today and has had a full examination, health check and a couple of tests. Sadly it looks like our Petal has late stage lymphatic cancer.

Sally our vet has advised us that any treatment may only prolong her life by a few months, and the treatment would be hard for her to cope with in her condition.

The vet has advised that we take the kindest route for Petal and put her to sleep. The trustees have talked about it and have agreed. We do not believe that dragging her through treatment for a couple of months of poor quality life is the right thing to do.

We would like to thank the kennels that cared for her so well when she was first picked up by the Dog warden and are only sorry that we couldn't give Petal the happy ever after that we all wanted.

Run Free over the bridge Petal xxx

She may also be a stolen dog so trying to check any we have even back a while as owners could still be searching for her.

Max. Me too. Pleased she is being looked after, and is safe. Hope Petal soon finds her forever home.

I really hope she gets better soon. I hope she finds a loving home.

Petal is broken coated, will possibly be rough when in good condition.
Cassie
That's kind of you to think of Abi, but she was chipped and Petal isn't. I know Petal is very undernourished, but Able had a more prominent, almost GSD type muzzle. Also, Abi was smooth coated, and I can't quit tell whether Petal is or not?
Bo
Awe bless her - she looks like a petal. Well done all involved in rescuing and saving her.
Carol
Good luck Petal darling xxxx

Please look at 21582 abi lost in rendlesham forest in 2010 although says micro chipped very very long shot but thought would mention

Update. Just to let you know this little girl has now left the kennels and is in our care. If anyone knows who she belongs to please call Doglost or contact Hounds First on 07710608951

This girl is very poorly and was at deaths door when she was picked up by the dog warden. The kennels have cared for her well and is taking the first tentative steps on the way to getting better.

She is very malnourished and is covered in sores (that the kennels have been treating) and you can see every bone in her body, she is so bad that she struggles to walk.

Huge thanks to the kennels for looking after her over the last 7 days. If she hadn't have been found she would have died.

She's a dreamboat but I'm in somerset and couldn't get my gang to suffolk to meet her :-(
rachelhayball
No, she will be in foster in Suffolk. We cover the whole of the UK x
fionap58
Is she coming into rescue in the south west?
rachelhayball
Thank you Bo. She has done her 7 days so is coming into our care tomorrow. We will get some better photos and will also check her against all missing dogs.
Bo
She looks like this one although the linked photo isn't the actual dog (from 2008)
