- Where Lost On walk at Rye Hills in Lutterworth (countryside not road name) next to Junction 20 of M1. Max is a Pawprints dog recently rehomed. Lost at 10.15am.

- This is DISGUSTING.....There are tens of thousands of dog owners who rely on the Chip company when it really matters and could easily loose their dog through the system because the Chip company cannot get their act together.
Big problem now is how many dogs have slipped through the net because of the Chip company's lack of responsibilty????
Do any details of the dogs get checked when their details are updated by the Chip company.....ie has this dog ever been reported lost, if found where did the dog go, who has the dog now??? All these need to be answered to ensure the dog ends up with the correct person/ owner.
How will this ever work when the time comes where every dog and maybe every cat is chipped....Good idea to have a system, but it must work. - 2014-01-08 14:57 JD
- Anita here from Pawprints (incase I am also "unknown"!) I wanted you to know of a situation that I have been made aware of this morning. We rehomed Max at beginning of December who was chipped to his deceased owner. On rehoming, we advised the chip company of change of ownership (something we do regularly with no issues). This morning when Max went missing whilst on a walk and after calling the chip company I was told there is an 8 week backlog on their email system and this dog's chip had NOT been updated! ! Luckily we were able to sort this immediately but new owner would not be allowed to do this! Thankfully, Max was found and reunited but I am concerned that other rescues may not be aware of this backlog and that dogs may be in pounds and not being reunited at all due to this issue. I just wanted people to be aware! Thanks x

- Max is microchipped but the form would not upload with chip details. I have already notified petlog that he is missing. Crossposting now.
