- Room for One More Rescue - this is so sad, not to say annoying! Some people don't deserve dogs!

Now where were we.. ah yes ... yayyy Betty identified as lost dog Tess!
We speak with owners and educate them that Tess is now spayed, vaccinated and microchipped as well as wormed and flea'd
We tell them over £700 has been clocked up on her bill so far with kennelling too. We explain we will need to carry out a satisfactory homecheck and if successful our adoption fee will apply as there has to be a small amount going back into the pot which enables us to carry on doing what we do. They set up a group on fb asking for money and that they needed £700 !!!!! We stepped in to correct that of course and advising them to be very clear in their actions!
People gave money generously to provide Tess's adoption fee of £150 .... our homecheck was a pass as all seemed in order.
Happy Ever After right??
WRONG 😡😠😡😠😡
Goodness knows what this sweet girl has been through! She turned up with the warden on the verge of emaciation, large bald red raw weeping skin, horrendous diarrhoea and laden with worms/parasites. To our knowledge this girl has been in the pound at least 4 times in her life and been passed on at least twice since she was reunited with her doting owners! - who have recently done a very long trip to fetch a Chihuahua pup!
What a mockery made of us, the Dog Lost volunteers, not to mention all the people who gave money to them for the adoption fee.
They had an RF1M money tin, packs of christmas cards, wristbands, trolley tokens and we have never seen a penny nor had anything returned.
Tess was even a pin up on The Kennel Club Rescue Calendar this year... something that we (not her owners) did for her!
We had some great co-operation to bring her back to safety with us. She has had nearly 3 months of treatment and tlc and is now doing quite nicely.
We wanted to get her better before going live with her and she is now called Betty as we are leaving her Tess Troubles behind.
We didnt get any photographs from arrival but these are after the end of her first course of meds from vet and medicated baths before continuing with treatment.
She cant live with other dogs but may be able to live with a cat as she has been used to a cat nearby and doesnt pay any attention to the kennel's cat. She can jump 6ft with ease so garden fences need to be at least that plus some if possible and she must not be left out unchecked. Ideally someone who loves to cuddle their dog lots as that is what she mostly craves, also could do with a refresher on obedience but she is a lovely happy girl still.
New owner will be required to keep in relatively regular contact with us.
Bottom line of this sad story....
Lost dog reunited - not always a fairytale ending!
And when people give us grief for being too strict - this is why! Folk mess with these wonderful souls far too much and we are here to do our absolute best to ensure they DO live happily ever after and even though we are as tight as can be with our rules ... well, beautiful Betty has proved what 'people' can do!!!! https://www.facebook.com/pg/rf1m.staffierescue/posts/?ref=page_internal

I shared the link for ALL Missing Female JRTs to twitter this morning - I always wonder how on earth they 'disappear into the ether' ?
My motto is #nevagiveuphope' because it only takes 1 share or tweet for that certain someone to recognise a photo & get a furbaby returned home x

- CROSS POSTED:
Room for One More staffie rescue
Back in the summer we rescued a poundie who was about to be put to sleep the day we saw her! We hadnt got the funds to do it but she just looked so sweet, non of them deserve to die but that day was Bettys very lucky day! We saved her life. When dogs are taken by the dog warden to the pound when they are lost they have 7 days before they are put down if the owner doesnt come forward or theres no microchip/chip details not kept up to date. Betty was one of the few lucky ones.
We had to kennel her which is a huge strain on our funds... this is where we rely on our loyal supporters to pull together to help us do what we do.
Over the weeks she has had much interest, none of her meet and greets went the way we like them to but she made friends with our jesspup and stayed over a few times. The last time she stayed with JP she was so sad going back to kennels the picture that was taken when she wouldnt get out of the car broke all of rf1m's hearts and we decided to share it with you guys.... from that picture a lady who is connected to dog lost recognised Betty as Tess who had been missing for many months!
After confirming details Today RF1M were able to reunite TESS with her rightful owners. What a wonderful ending for Betty and her family!
The moral of this story is how vital microchipping is and keeping those details up to date. Equally vital is your valued support for us to carry on the fantastic work we do.
Betty/Tess is alive because we were there for her even though we couldnt afford it. Thank you to each and every one of you for giving our babies the chance to make it xx - 2014-09-29 23:02 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- it is fantastic news.... im the one who spotted her... just like to say tho' i'm on doglost more than sharing posts, i know all the staffies on here by name and face...
and would love to see them all found. it was just by chance i saw a crosspost and recognised her face... so i took the risk of ringing zoe, and she confirmed i was right, we're so happy and would like to thank trixsta green, and also jude from room for one more staffie, who kindly took tess from death row, and saved her life. thank you girls, and omg tess im so happy for you babes xxx - 2014-09-23 06:57 Maggie
- Wow fantastic news, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
- 2014-09-23 05:21 Debs
- Wow how lucky are you Tess! What a great result. I saw comments from owner saying Tess is coming home on Monday so looking forward to seeing reunited pics and videos. Amazing ending just shows that sharing post DO get results. This is one example of why microchipping your pet is so important as Tess's fate was so close to being a completely different outcome. Welcome home beautiful girl
