:D the bottom photo is a reunited one- she wouldn't look at the camera.

We know that she was on the verge of running- you could tell from the way she acted.we couldn't risk losing her. Bearing in mind that this is a dog who has lived with her owners for the last 13 years and who has been out less than 24hrs -i reckon it took us a good 20 - 30 minutes to get her confidence and the lead on her - but the instant the lead was back on her she let me stroke her and reverted back to trotting along beside us.

Well that was tense! not sure how long it took but i am so so happy to say we got her back safe :) Thank goodness for Railway fences and Brambles! we met up at just past 7, talked about where she had been sighted last night and then split up- i went left and Phil went right. I made my way to the railway fence- there was a hole in it in the corner- decided to stay within boundary of the field as the rest of the railway appeared to be fenced off with metal pallisade fencing. Battled my way through the spinneys and brambles and came out in a bit of a clearing... rounded a bush and there she was - appx 10-12 feet ahead of me. Straight away i could see she was startled( Phil had told me that she was 13 with cataracts and very skittish) so i sat down and gently started speaking to her- calling her a good girl over and over- she didnt move.. Phil had told me that the breed generally made very little noise and that she rarely barked so i was SO thankful that she started barking/arroooing at me- not moving just standing her ground.i heard Phil calling in the distance but couldnt shout over loudly in case i scared her (he had heard her barking at mewhich i wasnt sure of) I stayed sitting and phoned Phil - couldnt get through because i hadnt realised he had left phone in the car and had gone back to get it. we finally managed to speak- it was probably only minutes but it felt forever and i very luckily was sat directly under and in linne with an old electricity overhead power line which i was able to tell him to follow. When he and Alfie appeared i was very relieved and advised him to do the same as me and sit down- not go towards her- and get her to come to him. i moved back out of the way about 20ft and sat in the grass. alfie sniffed at her and she wandered around- ever so nervous and wouldnt come close- we could see her limping but it wasnt holding up her movement- she was still very capable of flight at speed. it seemed like ages- we thought at one point she was going to run away- but finally Phil coaxed her to him and Alfie and slipped the lead i had brought over her head. Probably one of the singlemost feelings of relief in my whole life!!! She was safe. She has now been to the vets who reckon that she is fine-leg is ok just a little stiff from the cold and an old injury- and for them to keep an eye on her over the next few days to make sure that sh is ok- but all seems well :D thanks Kirsty, Mandy, Sam, and Gill for your help XXX

This dog has been missing since yesterday afternoon- Gill and i went out looking last night after another doglost helper (Kirsty) saw her on the A6 and in fields close by, other reports saw her being hit by a car on the A6 and running off into fields- we didnt see her but another friend did shortly afterwards in the same area(caught in beam of strong torch getting up from a clearing)However when they got down from the road she had gone. Owner went out and had a good look around(very difficult as pitch black there) but couldnt find her. Will be meeting up with owner in 30 mins to help look again. If anyone else can lend a hand please call one of the two numbers above. This area is bounded on 3 sides by Road, river and rail so we would like to be able to find her asap especially knowing that she is injured. x
