- Just read in local paper that Maverick has now been rehomed and renamed Rupert, so can he now go into the blue please.

- Pollyana thanks for letting us know that he is with a "special needs" rescue. It's bad enough having a dog that is "selectively deaf" but can hear the treat bags at 200yds away!

- Brilliant news. It's so good to see the positive side of things instead of the negative all the time, as so often happens.
Is any action being taken against the person who dumped him? - 2014-01-25 12:53 Spottylove
- The lady from The Deaf Dog network has said that Maverick is as safe as houses, and she will be working on ensuring he has a fantastic forever home. Hopefully happy days for you now handsome lad, and a home filled with lots of love x

- Oh bless this beautiful puppy, I hope he finds a wonderful loving home. It amazes me how cruel some people are, just can't believe it. X

- I have just brought a Dalmation puppy into my home after the sad loss of my 12 year old dally. It made me so sad to see what is happened to this puppy. If you need a new home for this puppy im sure it will fit In well with my new pup and they could learn things together

- I can't believe it the situation with these poor dogs goes from bad to worse. Hopefully now on the right track to a forever home xx

- Bless him - he is stunning. I don't think it will take long for him to be happy in a loving new home. xx

- I would like to see this boy rehomed via an experienced, specialised organisation. I gave much thought to nabbing him myself, but with a 2 year old child, I just have to be realistic. Hope he gets the home he deserves very very soon

- UPDATE FROM THE KENNELS....
The owner has been in contact with them and doesn't want the dog back.
I gather that there has been a lot of interest in this little chap and I'm sure it won't be long before he has found a loving home.

- Yes, All Dalmatian Rescue on the I OW is run by my friend Sue and another lady called Jan. They do fantastic work for Dalmatians needing homes, especially the deaf ones. I shall wait to see if there's any updates on FB about Maverick, if not then I will email Sue and see if she can help. Fingers all crossed for you Maverick x

- Deaf dalmation rescue="alldalmationrescue" on the I O Wight, but I'd guess they are part of the network Pollyana mentioned. Lets hope pup finds a lovely home where he/she is loved and wanted. Last edited: 2014-01-24 13:54:47 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

- Thanks sam66 and Pollyanna for updating, at least it got the ball rolling to find out more about this poor dog and hopefully find him a good home with someone who wants him and will care for him.

- If you can't cope or don't want a dog, hand it in to a rescue organisation, don't just dump it in a forest....Sometimes I could just scream at the cruelty of people, it really beggars belief...
I hope and pray that someone will offer this poor pup a permanent and loving home. - 2014-01-24 13:22 Spottylove
- A lady who works for the Deaf Dog Network has enquired about Maverick, as she has a lady waiting for a deaf Dalmatian. Hopefully this poor boy will have a forever home with people who will give him all the love and care he deserves.

- Evil people, but thanks for crossposting Sam66.
There is a dalmation rescue that specialises in deaf ones, think they train them to respond to hand signals and then rehome them to people looking to rehome a deaf dog. - 2014-01-24 13:01 CopperM

Hope that might help new owner... - 2014-01-24 12:12 sam66
- Thanks Pollyanna, I hadn't managed to get a reply! Poor little soul, hopefully he will now be re-homed to the right person!

- I have seen a update that somebody posted on FB about this poor little boy..
It's looking like this poor little boy who was found in Rendlesham Forest was dumped because he is deaf. This is little Maverick who was sold due to owner moving away. His new owner of just under two weeks couldn't cope so gave him away. Apparently he's not wanted by any of his previous owners. He is with the dog warden now. I hope he is given the chance of a loving home. Deaf dogs make great pets with the right owner. - 2014-01-24 09:57 sam66
- The phone number is mine in Bishop's Stortford just for point of contact. I am not the finder but saw this on FB. I did message the finder last night and recommended they list the dog on here with more details but had no response? I will try again and suggest taking to vets to scan for chip.
Update: I have messaged the finder again to see if scanned/reported to dog warden. The dog is NOT wth me, reported found in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk.Last edited: 2014-01-24 10:13:12 by sam66 - 2014-01-24 09:24 Paw
- Has this dog been taken out of local area - phone no. doesn't look local? If so probably needs posters putting up at Rendlesham so that owners can trace it if they go out searching.

- PLEASE NOTE. I have seen this dog as found on Facebook through a friend. I couldn't see that he/she had been listed here so thought I would as surely somebody must be looking for this pup??!! I shall advise to finder to list on here but in the meantime I can pass any details on.
