Hi, A kindly couple had picked him up and looked after him until the dog warden came to collect him, we had informed the warden of Flick missing and he had got description and details so when Flick was scanned he was a match.
Thankyou to all for your concerns, ideas and help in reuniting Flick with his very relieved owners. Last edited: 2014-01-29 15:48:41 by wolfhound

Hi I have contacted the Sentinel journalist Martin Tideswell and he will help get an article about Flick and Daisy ( the other dog stolen from ST4 recently) in the Sentinel. Please ring the Newsdesk on 01782 864100 or email newsdesk@thesentinel.co.uk

I'm spreading the word about Flick on Twitter. Contacting the Sentinel is a good idea. Maybe try contacting Sentinel journalist Martin Tideswell - he's a dog lover and has retweeted for Daisy the pug stolen in Trent Vale on the 18th. Its certainly worth a try. If owner needs help postering I'm happy to help.

I don't know if the owner is aware that last week a large group of travellers (20+ caravans) were illegally camped literally a few minutes' walk from where Flick was stolen, on the Fenton Manor Sports Complex car park (just across the road from the industrial estate where the Dolphin Fishing Tackle shop is). They have been moved on and are now illegally camped in another local car park at Wharf Place off Lytton Street, still within the same area. This might be worth investigating. Also, given the circumstances, would suggest owner contacts the Sentinel (local paper) and asks if they will run story, or failing that, places an advert in the Sentinel with a photo of Flick. The paper is exceptionally well-read locally and has produced successful results before in making dogs 'too hot to handle'. Chances are that poor Flick is still within the local area and hopefully some publicity might bring some info forward. Hope this is helpful.

Put a wanted out for male cocker spaniel, make it look like you are looking for a nice dog to join your family, no puppies please ! - this might lure the culprit in and you might stand a chance of getting your dog back - if you do get a response ask for photo so that you are not legging it about the country - say somthing like 'I have had loads of responses so my daughter said a photo will help her choose as she wants a black one' good luck I will keep a look out
