- I was told she was put to sleep. But the person who I was helping wasn’t sure what the truth was. My hope is that she was rehomed.
- 2018-12-19 20:11 menaviana
- any news about this dog?
- 2014-03-13 08:25 reggiemollieros
- Thank you again Shelagh. If I get any info will post on here.
- 2014-03-11 22:31 Shelagh
- Don't worry about who you have contacted. If you do twice no problem also best to do every Month or so to re fresh them about her. Don't stress now get better first. I am always looking for her and if you need me to contact anybody just let me know
- 2014-03-11 16:02 reggiemollieros
- Thanks Shelagh. I'm not too bad today. I am still hoping to find out where Stella is. Yes we do have more info than we had since the start and I am still checking websites and emailing people too. I did get a bit lost as to who I had contacted but think I can get it into some order. Thanks again.
- 2014-03-11 07:47 Shelagh
- I am sorry to hear you have been I'll hope you feeling a bit better. We must not give up in our search for Stella. We have a lot more info than before and I will still be looking for her daily and searching.I sure we will find her.
- 2014-03-10 21:29 reggiemollieros
- Sorry Shelagh. I have been a bit ill.
It looks as we will not get any more info on the man. I think if we are lucky Stella may turn up and the work you have put in so far and the stuff I have done will cause the right person to make the connection. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Thank you me n my girl for helping and anyone else who has shared Stella's photo and details. If I get anything of use I will post on here of course. - 2014-03-10 21:01 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Yes, think I'm going to un-follow, sad, but I can't see much hope of her being re-united.
- 2014-03-08 22:54 Shelagh
- I'm guessing someone collected her, because someone that age would find it difficult to go on public transport with a dog-you mostly have to go upstairs on a bus. The rspca-who are the only ones likely to collect cannot tell us without guys address. That's why she suggested maybe he gave her to a friend or perhaps family member
- 2014-03-08 20:03 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Somebody in their eighties is more likely to have a carer I would have thought, if he has , some carers won't go into a house where there is a dog ! How much behind scenes searching are the family doing? Did somebody come and collect Stella from the elderly man,or did he take her to the "Dogs Trust". Perhaps we will never know the truth.
- 2014-03-08 06:47 Shelagh
- I always check for Stella every day as well in my searches., but stay positive. We know a lot more info now than before. I was wondering, would it help to do some pestering around where she went missing asking for info. The RSPCA lady suggested to me that the guy may have given her to somebody who goes to his house. Because of age does he have cleaner etc?
- 2014-03-07 23:04 reggiemollieros
- Thank you for the info. I have done New Hope and their pound dogs going back to November and I have done RSPCA by using different postcodes to search and covering a wide area on their website. I also check Pets Located nearly every day as the RSPCA use them for listing any found dogs. RSPCA website gave me 3 possibles however been told none of them are Stella.
- 2014-03-07 21:10 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Another rescue that helps staffies and "to be pts dogs" is "New Hope Animal Rescue", I think they are either in Dartford Kent or SE London as I've seen their posts asking for transport runs.
- 2014-03-07 19:39 Shelagh
- The RSPCA is now listed as walthamcross.also small pets rescue in ongar they take dogs. Then hope field but that in Brentwood. May as well try them!
- 2014-03-07 19:29 Shelagh
- There used to be a big RSPCA at nazeing which is a stones throw from there but not sure if its still there
- 2014-03-07 11:12 reggiemollieros
- Sounds like could be what she means. I can't see a Dogs Trust near there and I have called Dogs Trusts in the South East anyway. Wallace Kennels is in the area. I am just re-checking their Facebook page. Last edited: 2014-03-07 11:15:35 by reggiemollieros
- 2014-03-07 07:33 Shelagh
- Just a thought it wouldn't be chipping ongar? They sound similar that is near Epping!
- 2014-03-06 22:05 reggiemollieros
- Thanks Shelagh. I drew a blank too and Pro Dogs Direct use oldies.org so they have not got Stella. if there is no rescue near Chiddingfold then I think this info is probably not going to be any use so best left for now. Last edited: 2014-03-06 22:06:39 by reggiemollieros

- There is a place calledchiddingfold in surrey, only connection with hangar they have a recreation car park called Spain hangar. No rescue there

- Have you heard of a place called Chidding Hangar? I have found a Chidding Hurst which when I google it brings up Pro Dogs Direct rescue who are in Kent and South East London. There may be a connection to Chidding Hangar. Thank you. Last edited: 2014-03-06 11:10:05 by reggiemollieros

- Oh no , well the search continues!
- 2014-03-05 19:14 reggiemollieros
- Sorry Maddie is not Stella. Just found a way to search dogsblog via age so looking through all dogs 6+. Not heard back from Millbrook yet.
- 2014-03-05 15:12 reggiemollieros
- Not heard back yet but she is not on Facebook every day so may take a bit longer. That was why I added Stella as the woman who told me said she was not good on computers. I have emailed RSPCA Millbrook today which was suggested by RSPCA Wimbeldon. Last edited: 2014-03-05 15:20:52 by reggiemollieros

- Oh good I hope it is her!
- 2014-03-04 22:36 reggiemollieros
- I found Maddie's photo on Facebook and on the RSPCA website where there were 3 photos, one of which showing her legs so I have sent them to the person who asked me to add Stella so they can check as I can't say no for sure as I have only seen the photos above. Thank you Shelagh.
- 2014-03-04 22:28 reggiemollieros
- I will have a look at Maddie now Shelagh. Thank you.
- 2014-03-04 07:22 Shelagh
- Regarding chip dates that could be handy info
- 2014-03-03 20:44 Shelagh
- Yes understand completely the RSPCA are not being helpful,as usual, and will not give out info.however on their website they have "Maddie" she definitely has white chest and neck can't see rest as she sitting they have her aged 8. She is at Essex branch have ring and Harold hill. 01708 381 822. Take a look at her.Arc have done a good search and come up blank and SDK are still searching
- 2014-03-03 20:25 reggiemollieros
- I did speak to a lovely woman at Senior Staffy Club on Facebook today and she had a good look at Stella's photos and said she has not been with them but she has friend's who pull from the pounds and she is going to ask them if they have seen her at all. One other piece of info, Stella's date of birth is 27th February the year is around 1996....adopted 12 years ago at the age of 6. Last edited: 2014-03-03 20:28:37 by reggiemollieros

- Yes have a read of Kaya's page on here and you will see what happened to her. Owner is still trying to get her back.
I would like to thank Merton as well for going to such lengths to see if they have had Stella. I only put YES to her being chipped because she is chipped but may as well not be given the circumstances.
The microchip number is unknown to the owner. I did try calling all the rescues in Dover but the only one which was in existence over 12 years ago has no records from that time as they were taken over by new people. I have left all of Stella's details with the most likely place they got Stella from. When Stella is scanned her chip will either come up as Gretel and be a rescue in Dover OR it will be not registered as she was chipped when she was adopted. Does that make sense?

- Spoken to RSPCA . She has told me that if a dog is given to them they do not scan for chip details, only when dog is re-homed or moved on.she cannot search for Gretel/Stella without chip number. If you have this I will give you her mob. Number. Cannot search for dogs collected either without address. This is a bit depressing as now I know guys age I'm thinking they probably did take her
- 2014-03-03 12:06 Shelagh
- Firstly to say Merton dog enforcement team have never had Gretel/Stella. A massive thank you to john ball and Merton council, who took time to request a photo and info, and to search all there records for her. Also to add I wish all other councils would take a tip from them when dealing with public inquires.wonderful people
- 2014-03-03 11:13 reggiemollieros
- I have added my mobile number above in case the other one is not answering and anyone has questions they want to ask. I might change it to my spare mobile but I can't find it at the moment.
- 2014-03-03 11:11 reggiemollieros
- Oh that is good news. I don't mind at all Shelagh even if we are doubling up. I am really grateful for your help and the help of others. SO there is a Rise Park in Colliers Wood? Thankfully they are both in Merton. I had conversation with a woman at Merton Council who although kind was very bleak but she did check the records back as far as November for me. I did RSPCA and I did Blue Cross for Merton. Pets Located who took over from RSPCA for lost and found dogs have not had her listed. Thank you John Ball if you are reading this too. I think this is our area to focus on. Does John know the man who had her is in his 80s? Might be a clue?
- 2014-03-03 10:36 Shelagh
- A guy john ball contacted me asking for page and photo of Gretel/Stella, hope you don't mind but asked bo to send as he was very interested and said he was going off to check few things. He is dog enforcement for Merton council
- 2014-03-03 07:57 Shelagh

- Yes put her again. Also found rise park in colliers wood, borough of Merton.frantically emailing everything listed in colliers wood now. No doubt you done some but do again hope this ok
- 2014-03-02 08:25 reggiemollieros
- Thank you Shelagh that is brilliant. I am going to put her on dogpages.org.uk who are a rescue resource. I had a friend who deals with dogs in council pounds and she posted on the pages they use. Someone put her on animal wardens with the E18 postcode should I add her again with the new postcode as I think they cannot be edited?
- 2014-03-02 07:50 Shelagh
- Sent e-mail to all dogs matter, they don't have her but they pretty good at a bit of detective work. The others close to Merton are the three main ones which I know you would have done already. Done one in Croydon think animal Samaritans, think start from outskirts in. If there are any on your list that you need doing, let me know cos I just go from borough to borough e-mailing
- 2014-03-01 20:31 reggiemollieros
- Thank you lisamarie I will look into that rescue. Is a lot of comments to read through as info has come through in stages.
Thank you Riverlady for tweeting I just re-tweeted.
Yes Shelagh am very glad to have it confirmed. I did make some Merton calls this week.
Thank you Alison for sending out the alerts.
Feel we can move forward from here. - 2014-03-01 20:23 lisamarie
- Hi, I've just read the posts below and wondered if anyone has tried looking for her at Foal Farm Animal Rescue in Biggin Hill, Kent? Just an idea, really hope there is a happy ending to this. I wonder why the guy gave up the dog, maybe he thought he was doing a good thing for whatever reason! Sometimes things aren't always what they seem.
- 2014-03-01 19:48 Shelagh
- OK great.now we know that it will help a lot.

- Anymore info on actual area,as there are a lot of unregistered rescues, if we can get proper location think we should concentrate on them
- 2014-02-28 21:36 reggiemollieros
- Yes me n my girl, I agree with you. So far despite the best efforts of everyone and lots of emails and phone calls I am not getting anywhere. Had a huge amount of re-tweets too. I was checking rescues though in case having been handed to someone she then ended up a stray and when scanned her chip would have come up unregistered or details out of date....hoping that would jog someone's mind.
- 2014-02-28 17:44 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- I was under the impression that most rescues were heaving at the seams with dogs, so the "so called friend" was lucky to find one to take Stella. I'm wondering if he just passed her on to someone.

- Just a couple of Rescue nos. Both Essex based, Hectors Gate 01375-372194 at Grays Thurrock, the guy that runs it is a staffie man and even runs an all staffie flyball team he may be able to help, rescues and takes in all different animals. Gemini Kennels 01268 725825 who I also believe has an interest in Staffies. They may come up with some other contacts, I haven't seen any elderly staffs on their FB pages. - RSPCA Wimbledon not had Stella/Gretel in as they do not take in dogs. They suggested Blue Cross who I have already checked with. Thanks MillieVW I have been checking Oldies.org but still need to keep a check on them in case she has been in foster. Thanks Shelagh.

- Sorry, can't see if this has been posted, just checked on oldies club and none matching Stella but found a good list http://www.oldies.org.uk/?page_id=33 hope it's some help :-)
- 2014-02-24 23:02 Shelagh
- Emailed RSPCA southeast branch-twickenham Richmond and barnes-barnes is next to raynes park
- 2014-02-24 19:04 reggiemollieros
- Thanks Shelagh, I have updated Battersea via the email they sent me when I registered Stella with them. No matches on DogsBlog.
- 2014-02-24 18:53 Shelagh
- Yes true but batter sea you can, also there was a little backstreet rescue off canning town,it got closeddown years ago but iI need to go and see if she back in action
- 2014-02-24 15:22 reggiemollieros
- I called Celia Hammond in Canning Town and they say they would not have taken her in. Blue Cross Merton - no they have not had any dogs handed in as they have no kennel facility.
RSPCA Wimbledon branch no answer so have sent an email in the meantime.
Celia Hammond, said that most rescues have a waiting list so it would have been hard to just hand her in anywhere. Last edited: 2014-02-24 16:19:00 by reggiemollieros - 2014-02-24 13:20 Shelagh
- OK the rescue in canning town is Celia Hammond. She mostly deals with cats but does take the odd dogs.won't do any harm to contact her while waiting
- 2014-02-24 11:05 reggiemollieros
- Spoke to Merton council who use Noahs Ark who post on here as Ark E and no record of her having been picked up. If she had been picked up in that area she would have been logged on Doglost anyway. So few more calls to make.
- 2014-02-24 09:34 reggiemollieros
- Thank you Shelagh. I do appreciate your help. I have not heard back so am reluctant to change the area as in the same message she said her grand daughter mentioned a rescue in Canning Town which put us back in the East of London.
- 2014-02-23 16:02 Shelagh
- Blue cross Merton last chance rescue
- 2014-02-23 15:59 Shelagh
- OK yes we are a bit out . Oldies club did get back to me they don't have her. Just contact re.name change.don't know that area at all but if you want me to contact any body I will no problem.I will do bit research see if I find any small rescues round there.
- 2014-02-23 15:30 reggiemollieros
- Thank you Shelagh. I am trying not to get too stressed about the area changing however it seems to be Raynes Park in Merton. This is South London not East. I will ask for alerts to go out to different postcode areas but am going to hang on a bit as Marion is speaking to the owner's daughter later on today and don't want us to go off on a tangent if it is not confirmed. Ark E who list on Doglost are the dog wardens for this area. They are a bit like SDK services so I will call them and the Merton dog warden tomorrow. She is registered at Battersea and they do co-ordinate with the dog wardens within the M25 which makes me feel slightly less worried about the change in the area. I will email Batterseas as well with the extra info. Thanks again. I have a contact at Staffie Rescue who is aware of Stella. I have emailed Senior Staffie Club too. I have regularly checked their websites as well and Oldies.org too. I will cover the Merton area and stretch out from there. Last edited: 2014-02-23 15:31:09 by reggiemollieros
- 2014-02-23 11:18 Shelagh
- Don't stress about exact location if we cover all dog wardens and rescues in London we will have covered it. Do you want me to do old staffie rescues if not let me know if want any done. I doing doing Broxbourne Waltham abbey.d/w that next big area outside. London for both romford and woodford.
- 2014-02-23 10:59 reggiemollieros
- There is a Rise Park in Romford RM1 which is about 20 mins drive to the west of Woodford. I have asked Marion to check this. I have had no luck with any searches using the name Gretel. Thank you Shelagh and sorry about this confusion.
- 2014-02-23 10:42 Shelagh
- OK rise park is not listed on a-z in woodfod only rays park children's park-ive emailed all d/wardens with new info and sdk
- 2014-02-23 10:18 reggiemollieros
- Sorry I am getting confused about Rays Park in Woodford Green but I just looked at the original post and it says: "the guy lives in rise park who was supposed to be looking after the old girl its in london" I am getting this checked again as it is important and I sent the page to them and they did not mention any problem with the postcode but I am feeling that we are no in the exact right area here. London postcode for Woodford is E18. Last edited: 2014-02-23 10:36:19 by reggiemollieros
- 2014-02-23 10:16 reggiemollieros
- Yes please Shelagh that would be fantastic thank you. I am going over old ground to also let people I emailed know about her previous name. Thanks so much.
- 2014-02-23 09:49 Shelagh
- OK that is great finding name. Cos of mention rays park I'm thinking he either let her go there or lost her. I will contact all wardens with name change. Will that be OK?
- 2014-02-23 09:32 reggiemollieros
- If this man told any truth then she was not let go or lost.
I just looked on Google and you can spell it Gretl or Gretel Last edited: 2014-02-23 09:34:47 by reggiemollieros - 2014-02-23 09:31 reggiemollieros
- Shelagh I just found out Stella's name was GRETL (not sure of the spelling). Rays Park is where I was told that the adopter/carer lives. She could have been passed on anytime from December 1st. I think this Gretl name could help as is likely to be her chip name? The other thing....he said a Dogs Trust not the Dogs Trust but we don't know if that was made up and she was passed on to a.n.other.
- 2014-02-22 09:20 Shelagh
- Trying to do bit detective work? Ref-rays park did they lose her there/let her go?also if they don't have a dog probably not that savvy about rescues etc. Most people would only know batter sea! That reason for all questions.
- 2014-02-21 22:56 Shelagh
- Sorry just thought if dog given to rescue-why does it say rays park as area lost.
- 2014-02-21 22:47 Shelagh
- Could I get you to ask two questions . Where does the person looking after dog live? Is it same area as where. Dog went missing? Does this person have a dog? Trying to work out most likely location for rescue center ( if there is one! And if the person has a good knowledge of rescue centers. Oops sorry that three questions. You might know answer yourself
- 2014-02-21 20:37 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Another thought is, sorry if I've missed this already, but Rescue handed into would surely have scanned when they took from "friends". What could their excuse have been for wrong chip? If genuine Rescue, they should have this recorded somewhere. So any Rescues that had staffie handed in after December with a Dover chip?
- 2014-02-21 20:35 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Drat. I wish there were some way of Chip company matching up Dover Rescue chips to this baby. I wonder if they can't do a chip search by the name of this Dover rescue, like a data base. Don't know how many it would bring up, but if most dogs from this rescue had their chips amended to new owners, that should only leave a handful or so, that could be Stella. I so wish we could find a way round this to alert chip co if her chip was scanned. Probably too much trouble with such a large amount of chips on file. Do we maybe know the year of the chip and who did it? My vets use one kind of chip, DWs might use another kind. I'm just thinking aloud here, but probably impossible. So, we'll have to keep alert for any dog that is in a rescue, chipped but owners can't be located.
- 2014-02-21 17:44 reggiemollieros
- Stella was renamed when she was adopted so her chip name will be different :(
- 2014-02-21 12:04 reggiemollieros
- I will ask them Shelagh.
- 2014-02-20 20:41 Shelagh
- Do you know if her original name was Stella?
- 2014-02-20 20:40 Shelagh
- 2014-02-20 20:20 reggiemollieros
- Sorry Abbalish, I have registered her with you but no there is no chip number as although she is chipped to the original rescue in Dover they no longer exist and the chip number was never passed on to the owners. They have checked with her vets and she was never scanned by them so she will show up as chipped if scanned but will have a rescue in Dover name unknown or details not registered. I hope that makes sense. Her lost report number is 00137020
I have emailed them Shelagh thanks. Thank you for bumping her up Kimmybear and Maggie x - 2014-02-20 15:44 Battersea
- Do we have the chip number? Can check to see if she ever came to BDCH. Long shot but worth a try.

- Great new pics so much better I have another look for her
- 2014-02-17 10:48 reggiemollieros
- I have added 2 new photos of Stella which show her marking better. Also she has a white tip on her tail and her front left leg is white. Should make it easier to spot her if she comes up on any rehoming pages. xx (you may need to refresh browser to see them)

- I have not heard back yet as soon as I do I shall update if there is any news. I know if there was any positive news they would be in touch with me x

- I have sent the link to Millie's page on to the family and asked them to look. Thanks for that and I see what you mean about the coat...xx

- Sorry not posted for a while. I was hoping to hear back from the family member. I will get in touch and see if there is any news. We did look at Wood Green website but could not see any matched on there. I do think though Stella might be in foster given her age if she was indeed handed into a bona fide rescue such as Wood Green etc
I shall have a look at Millie. None of the Dover rescues I spoke to had had a call about her from a dog warden or rescue so have drawn a blank there I'm afraid. I think pet detective might be expensive but I can suggest it of course. Thanks again for commenting and sharing xx - 2014-02-09 19:40 Laura
- Have you tried wood green x

- Any news on the beautiful Stella? I am so hoping that the man tells the family where she is.
Sounds a bit weird but what about a pet detective to help in this situation? xxx - 2014-02-06 22:40 reggiemollieros
- Thank you Shelagh. Am not sure why my comment below was pinked out, think it was a mistake....as it had nothing on there can think would be a problem. Still not heard anything :(

- I hope he tells them where she is. In the mean time I will still look for her in my searches a d have sent her photo to dozens of people n surrounding areas
- 2014-02-06 09:23 reggiemollieros
- Thanks Shelagh..Sorry I don't have updates. The family are working on getting the man who passed Stella on to give more information and when they have that I will update. I am so sorry I don't have any better news just now.

- 2014-02-03 15:19 Shelagh
- Yes and hopefully he will tell police where exactly Stella is. And if really rescue at least know which one.
- 2014-02-03 15:13 reggiemollieros
- Thanks Shelagh, I do appreciate your input. I have told them to tell the Police so hopefully that has been done. I feel we have covered all bases so far and it is just a question of info coming back in now.
Thanks again Shelagh I do appreciate yours and everyone else's help. Last edited: 2014-02-03 15:14:27 by reggiemollieros - 2014-02-03 15:01 Shelagh
- I have just spoken to animal warden. She has informed me that the owner must notify the police about Stella. This is a requirement by law. She also said neither herself or dogs lost could be involved as it is a criminal matter. I am not sure what policy is for dogs lost stolen dogs so can't help confirm it. She did tell me that she had not picked up Stella at anytime and was inclined to think the dog could be a bit younger 15 or so as 18 is very unusual for staff. Also thought should keep an open mind about story told about Stella disappearance? I will leave you to decide what to do with info?
- 2014-02-03 14:15 reggiemollieros
- I have been in touch with a lot of rescues, local and the Dover area. I have contacted specialist rescues as well. I have emailed and spoken to a number of people who work in rescue too. Stella had over 200 plus re-tweets and huge amount of sharing on Facebook and no doubt direct from here. If anything comes back to me from that then I shall update.
I do want to thank you for looking out for her as I know this was not a very easy task at all and given her age she could well be in foster care. I am waiting for any more news from the member of the family who contacted me as they are actively trying to get more info. Thank you so much. - 2014-02-03 11:31 reggiemollieros
- I had a lovely email from Chance Pixies Rescue in Dover however they took over from previous kennels in 2004 and Stella was adopted in 2002 by my maths. That was my highest hope on the Dover rescue side of things but there are a few others to ask. Last edited: 2014-02-03 12:44:52 by reggiemollieros

- Thank you for the suggestions which I shall work through today. I am not great with forums but will have a go. I have been in touch with Rescue Remedies too. I shall check out Kie too.
I have not heard from the family since Saturday so am hoping will get some news back from them soon. Thanks again. - 2014-02-02 22:46 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Looked on Rescue remedies rehomed since Nov and Staffie support on Rescue Remedies, nothing to suggest an elderly lady there. Staffierescue have an elderly girl called Ada.Last edited: 2014-02-03 07:38:06 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

- Also worth posting on the 'staffies r us' forum - they have a member called with the username Nikki who I think works for the Dogs Trust (pretty sure it's the Harefield branch), she may be able to help if she still works there. Good luck xxLast edited: 2014-02-02 16:48:23 by PD87

- Thank you, me n my girl, I shall have a look and thank you so much for spending time to look through all those places.
Thank you, Shelagh I think I should just change it to Woodford and keep it simple :)
I have contacted Rescue Remedies who are also Staffie Rescue
I am about to contact Senior Staffy Club as well.
I am going to phone around a few Dogs Trusts and also maybe even try Head Office. Yes is all very helpful and useful and anything that is posted I will follow up either with the family or do it myself. Thank you again. Last edited: 2014-02-02 11:43:39 by reggiemollieros - 2014-02-02 08:24 Shelagh
- Hi just to say firstly rays park is not a street but a children's park. Have you tried all staffie rescues? Also there is a dogs trust at Canterbury, this covers dover, it started 10 years ago. Hope some of this is useful

- Had a huntabout yesterday for Stella, looked on All dogs matter London N2, Enfield dog rescue, Dogs trust Harefield, National animal welfare trust Watford and Essex. Also Hornchurgh pet services, Wanderers Haven Cranham and Wallace Kennels Brentwood but couldn't see any staffies that resembled Stella. Then looked on Active oldies on Oldies club and found MAISIE who apppears to have a lot of grey on her face at RSPCA West Hatch Somerset, my computer skills are less than basic and all my photos come up dark but Maisie is worth looking at. Thank you Scrappy2010 I shall have a look.
No more photos of Stella are available sadly.

- Thank you. Yvonne. I was told Rise Park near Woodford. I did find a Rise Park and it an actual Park near Woodford so I think Woodford will be near enough and we know rescues can move dogs to other areas. Kaya was picked up in London but rehomed in Coventry.
Shelagh I will check those rescues too.
Thank you MillieVW I shall take a look too.
I need to update some details above.
Stella was adopted 12 years ago from a rescue in Dover who put her age at 6 which would make her 18 now. So greying around her muzzle. The chip is thought to be registered to this rescue so rescues in Dover are being contacted in case they may have had a call when she was handed in. The chip details are unknown the the family. Stella's vet had not scanned her so nothing on her records. Date she was given away is now early December around the 1st. Thanks again. - 2014-01-31 21:28 Shelagh
- There are no rescues in woodford one in south woodford closed down couple years ago. One in horn church -hornchurch pet services also Mayhew and little angels are quite near to location. I have done a quick search but no luck
- 2014-01-31 20:48 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- I can't find a Rise Park in Woodford, there is an area called Rise Park in Romford which isn't too far away, within 10 miles I'd guess. I know of a staffy internet group in Romford area (not a rescue) but I'll see if I can get any leads from them. YvonneLast edited: 2014-01-31 20:51:53 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

- I am going to ask for another photo as well. Dogs Trust Harefield have been contacted and they do not have any record of her being handed in. So maybe it was a different rescue more towards the Woodford area. I am trying to find out which rescue in Dover existed 12 years ago. More info on her age, Stella was adopted 12 years ago and she was thought to be about 6 which would make her 18 now. I am going to trawl the internet and look further afield. I am waiting for permission from the owners to do a twitter appeal.
Kimmybear your suggestion for Chingford Kennels has been passed on.
Sheila, thank you for your help and for speaking to the dog warden.
me n my girl, Thank you, I did look at Harefield online but I will have another look as it was very late last night. I shall also extend the search re Dogs Trust.
I have suggested Senior Staffy Club, I will also check out Staffie Rescue.
The chip is bugging me so all avenues need to be covered.
I am going to check Battersea too.
Thanks for looking reading and sharing, is all we can do just now xx - 2014-01-31 17:45 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Have looked on Dogs Trust Harefield and think you should have a look Reggiemollieros if you haven't already, photos can be a bit misleading and there are a couple of dogs that have been reserved, but the white band is quite distinctive. What a good friend!
- 2014-01-31 14:46 Shelagh
- Have given Stella's details to lovely animal warden who helped us yesterday with puhi. This is her area and she is up for a bit of detective work. Hope she can find her.
- 2014-01-31 12:39 reggiemollieros
- Thank you Kimmybear, I will pass all that info on and also am searching on the off chance she is being advertised elsewhere by a.n.other rescue xxx

- Also, speak to Chingford kennels. They're quite good and would help if they had her in. x

- Well done, Reggiemollieros. Might also be worth owner putting up a few posters around the area, just in case others know more and would come forward. Dogs Trust rehome quite quickly, or they may well move the dog to a different Dogs Trust out of area. And I know you would have been investigating all this. Wonder how this chap got away with making out he was the owner? What story did he tell? Also check nothing happened to the dog and this is just a fabricated story to cover up the truth. Although does sound like he did this. Very, very sad. There are some awful people out there. Well done, Reggiemollieros. xxx

- Yes hertslady, that was my thought. Problem is, it was a a long time ago and they need to find out if the original rescue still exists but this is being looked into asap as it would make most sense. Thank you much appreciated.
Stella's Dad only just found out a few days ago when he came back to collect so in the meantime they have been trying to get as much info as possible. Apolgies that all the info is 3rd hand I am in contact with a family member so will post over any info as I get it. Thanks againLast edited: 2014-01-31 10:46:54 by reggiemollieros - 2014-01-31 10:07 hertslady
- if she was chipped to a rescue then any rescue that took her in would surely contact that rescue as most rescues have a take back clause, has any one asked the original rescue if they have had any calls, and also if that rescue now lists the dog as missing it will show to other rescues who scan itLast edited: 2014-01-31 10:12:02 by hertslady

- I have looked through Oldies.org website in both the homes needed and the rehomed section as I know Dogs Trust use them sometimes and she is not on there. I have also looked on Dogsblog. Just hoping that this was Dogs Trust in Harefield that Stella was handed into and they will have some record of her.
- 2014-01-31 09:34 reggiemollieros
- I have added Stella on behalf of owner's family.
Quote: We are looking for stella a 15 year old brindle staffie bitch she was being looked after by my grandaughters dads friend while he was away for 9 weeks. he returned yesterday. to be told that after 3 days by the person who was looking after her, that he had put her in a dogs trust. this is all he will tell the owner and will not give anymore details this was done in December(edited)2013 obviously the owner is heartbroken and really wants he's beloved dog back but as we have such little info we don't know where to start to look all we have been told is a dogs trust. Stella is brindle with a greying face and a white neck if anybody could help us trace her we would be truly grateful. Unquote.
Other info: Stella was chipped to/by a rescue in Dover many years ago and her chip details were not updated. The person who was looking after her has mentioned Dogs Trust in London as the place she was handed in and this is being looked into. In the meantime if anyone has any info on her please post here and we will see if we can find out where Stella is. Thank you so much. Sorry have changed to date to 1st December as been contacted by person who asked me to add and they have worked out that date. Last edited: 2014-01-31 12:38:15 by reggiemollieros - 2014-01-31 09:22
