- Phoned owner, she has seen the dog sighted in Martock is NOT Pippy, has postered, scented & given details to every vets, farmer, gamekeeper, stables, hunts etc in a 50 mile radius. her husband saw her swimming in the flood waters on the day she went missing but she wouldn't respond to his calls or whistles, this area has been thoroughly searched & now they are being realistic in thinking Pippy drowned in the flood waters that day. However if anyone can suggest anything else that can be done to find Pippy & bring her home she would be grateful for any suggestions.Last edited: 2014-06-02 10:33:57 by Caz

- We had a phone call on Monday saying Pippy had been seen running past the Church in Martock - we went and searched but cold not see her. Have put an advertisement for her in Blackmore Vale Magazine and Western Gazette for this week - so fingers crossed. All the farmers have been out in the flooded fields but still no news of her so really hoping the Martock sighting was her as second time someone has called from that area. She is a wonderful dog and very clever so .....Thanks to everyone who is still looking out for her.

Will be out tomorrow looking - any help would be amazing - it would just be wonderful if it were Pippy. Thank you

- Wow! Really do hope for some good news.i am at the opposite side of flood to you(burlinghams lane) so I am calling and watching from this side. Walked down to ash fishing lakes yesterday which also backs onto floods ,left a few posters . Sorry I can't do more . Let me know if you want me to check anywhere. With regards to the lurcher- did they manage to catch it? I walked church lane last night but couldn't see anything. Good luck today.

- Hi local radio and papers not run stories - sadly no siting yet. I was just notified of a stray dog which hoped would be Pippy - but wssnt - however a lurcher
grey wire colour I believe, with collar and trying to get out of a coat was seen in Church Lane Long Load very frightened this evening at 18.40 - hope this helps someone find its dog. - 2014-02-06 18:54 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team

- Hi everyone - sadly having spoken to experts it is too dangerous to go out in the flood water - so its just a question of walking and hoping someone will see her. thank you soo much to whoever put a load of posters out yesterday - as I was following their trail with ours!
- 2014-02-05 23:03 penny

- Anyone really good at persuasive phone calls/emails? Happy to do it but not really my strong point.contact details for RNAS yeovilton on their website. There is a phone no for general enquiries and /or contact details for complaints and enquiries. I have just been outside now and a helecopter has just flown over the floods very slowly.
- 2014-02-05 19:13 Poochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
- I don't think it would be too cheeky at all, the worst thing they can say is no. I was hoping with all the news teams in the area that they would give Pippy a mention to help spread the word. Anything has to be worth a try.
- 2014-02-05 18:40 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Just walked the dogs on knowl hill but no sign I'm afraid. I did notice a small fibreglass rowing boat which I guess belongs to golf club as it is near their grounds right on the waters edge. If you walk down the track almost to waters edge , it's in field on the right. Don't know if this is do'able but we have noticed helecopters hovering over floods monitoring the situation and I'm sure they must use their thermal imaging camera. Would it be too cheeky if we wrote asking them to tell dogs lost if they should spot anything.?
- 2014-02-05 18:05 penny
- Hi been all over again today. No joy. Only thing I can think of is going out in a boat to the dry area - trouble is we dont have a small rowing boat - got rowers though. Anyone able to help with this. Thank you all again so much. Penny

Thanks again for all your help

- Hi Jasper and Kate - thank you both very much -know what you mean about the guns - that sound freaks pip out completely - i am hoping someone will report that they have found her tomorrow after the weekend - we keep driving, walking and talking to everyone we see so hopefully something will come of it
- 2014-02-02 20:52 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Walked from ilchester to long load via the river but sadly no sightings. Lots of very loud gun shots still going on down there, which spooked my own dog so don't think pippy would stay near there. Will have a good drive around towards somerton tomorrow.
- 2014-02-02 20:18 kateb27
- Ah penny sorry for the false alarm :( I hope you find pippy soon. I've asked people to keep a look out for her.
- 2014-02-02 19:25 penny

- 2014-02-02 19:20 penny
- Hi thanks for the information kateb27 - was it outside a farm called Manor Farm - if so do you know who owns it so I can ring - someone else also saw this dog but thought it was the farm collie? - also thanks for spreading the word gino.
- 2014-02-02 18:37 kateb27
- I saw a dog today that looked a lot like the picture around the village green of high ham at around 4pm. I did not see an owner which I found bizarre. Unfortunately I have only just seen this poster. It might be worth checking with heavens gate in henley to see if anyone took the dog in overnight. I feel so annoyed now that I didn't stop!

- I will walk the river/fields from ilchester end up towards the back of ash and on towards long load. Might be worth having a word with firemen in martock . They have set up a command centre thereto coordinate pumping on levels and may keep an eye open for pippy.

- We last saw her headed towards Bineham/Knowle - from the Long Sutton side of river. However she could have headed towards Ilchester. She was seen in the middle of the floods going in the Bineham/Knowle/Long Sutton direction but away from the river
- 2014-02-01 23:01 Jasper - Area Volunteer, Somerset
- Was pippy headed towards langport or across the other way towards ilchester/ash ?
