- I agree with digbysmum. I think it should be law to have pools fenced and gates locked, not just covered because covers can be detrimental as well. We have to hope that it was Bonnie's time and so God took her quickly without suffering. Precious Bonnie has touched all our hearts. xxx

- Oh how absolutely heartbreaking. Another lost to water - I strongly believe that swimming pools/ponds should be fenced off, but this is probably "too unsightly" for the owners. I am sorry, but it makes my blood boil. Rant over! I am so very sorry, and my thoughts are with the family at this time. Run free at the bridge, dear Bonnie - you were beautiful xxxx

My prayers are with her family, who one day will meet Bonnie at the bridge, and cross together: never to be parted. RIP+ lovely girl. God blessx A~~~Candle~~~burns for the gorgeous Bonnie. I wish people would cover up their swimming pools when not in use. Could have been a child.

- I stood by your bed last night I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, and I’m here.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning.
"And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I’ll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side
. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me. - 2014-03-13 20:08 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

- David thank you for your comment.
I am searching the internet daily, as I am sure are many others...we are by your (and Bonnie's) side 'virtually' every day..I promise. - 2014-02-19 23:43 David
- There is still no news of Bonnie and no sightings. Facebook pages have been shared around the country now but nothing. There has been a similar coloured male dog found in Jan in America which people are sharing on facebook and thinking it might be Bonnie, but its not. But it does show lots of people are still keeping an eye out for her.
- 2014-02-18 11:57 Abe babe
- Baggy Dog, I've done the same in the past and yes I think it's a great way to ensure folk have the numbers to call.
Bojangles...
To my knowledge there has been no sign of Bonnie since she disappeared...
can you put more info regarding fb statement of re-union with perhaps a link? I don't do fb. - 2014-02-18 10:18 Baggy Dog
- I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Glad she's tagged and microchipped. Hoping for positive news soon.

- a post on Facebook states that Bonnie has been reunited. Is this true? fingers crossed....

- Also alerted owners to a dog at the PDSA in Vange, Basildon. Just in case, but that dog is is in heaven now - I don't think its Bonnie, but need to make certain. x

- Been alerted to a dog fitting Bonnie's description walking round Spinney area of Elsenham. As we know, dogs do travel. Hopefully people in the area might be able to catch her and check for Bonnie? x

- I can't stop thinking about Bonnie...I pray there might be news soon. Sending you Love and Light sweetheart...wherever you are. x

- So glad you have posted on here, David. Thank you. Okay, if you feel the roads are a hazard you must call the Highways department for your area (for example Essex CC people should know) and ALSO the local council who is responsible for the smaller roads nearby. They do not scan dogs they find, so you have to keep calling to check. They keep very little in the way of records, so the onus is sadly on owners to keep reminding them, daily. May we suggest you poster further afield. Bonnie's poster is attached to this page. People need to know who to call if they see her. Some people put the numbers in their phones as soon as they see a poster, just in case. Some people keep dogs they find because they don't know what to do. Could you call the local papers and ask if they'd do a story on Bonnie? They don't usually do missing dog stories unless there is another angle e.g. you could use Bonnie's joint problems as a concern for worry and a plea for help. It might work. Let us know. Also ask the local radio station to see if they'd put out a quick bulletin for you. Sometimes you get a "yes". Anything is worth a try. Regarding Network Rail, can you find out if they arranged for their contractor to collect any animals on that stretch of track, as even if you've searched, sometimes animals are buried or removed without any notification to owners and even trying to get the truth can be very exhausting with NR. I am sure Bonnie is plodding out there somewhere, or resting up, but please do double and triple check the above. Don't take the first "no" as gospel. Keep on. If you want another search paty with more help, we can ask on here. x

- How about postering local milk delivery, Postmen, Supermarket delivery to door services? Local Highways Depot? Newspaper girls and boys? Essex Fire Service, firemen are so often wonderful in animal cases!
Just random thoughts. x - 2014-02-09 18:00 David
- There was a search yesterday by a few groups of local residents who know the area and Bonnie. The areas that Bonnie knows were searched together with the railway line. Posters have been put up and facebook posts shared to spread the word. Local farmers, vets, and dog groomers have been made aware of Bonnie as well. While she isn't an overly energetic dog, she is a plodder and could have travelled quite a distance by now. She doesn't have much road sense so may have been knocked down by an unsuspecting motorist. All local dog walkers are on the look out for her and have been on walks today. But no sightings as of yet.

- CorbiereW, please can you look for any metal gates in the fields and possibly any cattle grids or similar? It is just a thought, but could she have got shut in a paddock or something? Or, as she has trouble walking far, maybe she's hurt herself by straying a bit far and is lying low till she is well enough to try and get home. I'm trying to get owner to post on Bonnie's page - he said he can see it. Will ask about a search party. x

- I'm so sorry I didn't get there today..clearing up after floods (raw sewage in house).
I so hoped Bonnie would be in the blue by now.... any leads? - 2014-02-08 10:55 mum24collies
- Is there a meeting point for searching today?
- 2014-02-07 22:55 digbysmum
- Do hope the lovely Bonnie is soon back home, safe and well xxx

- It's a very rural area with a lot of fields and footpaths to the back of the station, and the River Stour goes through the village on the other side of it (the river is the country boundary)
The Stour is very high and fast at the moment due to all the rain. Let's hope this old girl hasn't wandered too far and will ask for help. There are three pubs in the village and a couple of shops where leaflets can be left. Not sure I can help tomorrow as I may have to do a transport run from the pound, but if not will take my girl and see what I can find - I'm about five miles away - 2014-02-07 20:36 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Have been communicating with owner. Local close community all aware so hopefully help will be at hand. Thank you. However, Bonnie has to be somewhere! Have suggested owner speak to FarmWatch as there seem to be a few farms in the area, so they could help or offer advice as they know about gun dog theft which we also cannot rule out. Advised re scenting. Owner has managed to open my email on another computer. Thank goodness. Bonnie is not a lively bouncy girl, as she has joint issues, so she should be quite close to home. Hopefully, she's just resting and will come back soon. Everything crossed for this sweetheart. x

- Abe Babe, I've advised owner that offers of help are on here. Don't know if he can access to leave a post. Abe Babe, you have my persmission to contact owner direct to offer assistance - he can ony say no, so nothing lost in offering. Support is usually welcomed. Thank you.x

- I have texted owners & asked them to check Bonnie's page (sometimes owners don't realise they can do this) & hopefully we will know more. Thank you, you kind people. I am concerned re the location of Bonnie getting lost. Have emailed with various things that need to be done including the postering. x
