owner took jack with him last night to feed station ,ben came as usual ,jack and owner saw him and jack barked ,ben stood and looked at him then moved away down the field as he always does, ben did not go back to feed station for his food !!! i.m panicking a little now as trap is going out this afternoon , i just hope no dog walkers feed him today !!!

Would you consider using Bach Rescue Remedy on his food, it just might take the fear away and relax him. Owner of Cindy missing greyhound used it when trying to recapture her.Larger chemists sell it for £7 a bottle and you can't overdose it, 3 drops as often as you like.

Thanks for the text owl and everything crossed he keeps going back to the feeding station xxx

Ben was sighted at the feeding station an hour ago, at 6 pm this eve.

Now why didn't I think of that Owl. LOL
DogLostOwl
Best bet is to take Jack to the area Ben has been sighted and let him do his own scent marking.

Don't know if it helps but it might be worth looking at re-united ID 56302 Cindy, a black greyhound bitch that evaded capture for a month. Or her facebook page Finding Cindy. Perhaps you could use some of the ideas from the re-united page. I think owner needs to be in the vicinity with his other dog, either walking or perhaps in a car with an open door. Don't overfeed keep him coming back for more, try to see if there's a pattern of the times he comes. Don't chase or call him, he's running scared at the moment. Don't know how you capture a male dogs urine but perhaps some earth with Jacks pee on it could be scattered in a few places round where a car could stand. Just a few thoughts from this Essex old girl.

Thanks Daniella00, Ben is going to be difficult to catch and the very best way is to lure him with food but not to chase or try to catch him. If he knows there is a source of food available he will keep coming back.
I am in contact with Laura who registered him with us and I have advised her with regards setting up a feeding station and methods of scenting.
Please liase with Laura or Bens owner over feeding as we really only need one regular feeding station but they may need help with topping up and checking it. Having said this it's much better if just the same few people leave their scent near the feeding station x Last edited: 2014-02-22 15:41:09 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

I so hope he is home safely soon. Is anybody able to lend you a cage/crate which are used regularly on her to entice him in? xx i don't know how they are used but seem to be very successful.....x
Daniella00
He has just been up on our yard at Hazelbarrow Farm. He is very skinny and we tried to catch him but he ran away again down towards the woods.

Please see poat below .

Ben has been seen today at the top of our farm lane by one of the girls who keeps her horse at the farm. We are at Hazelbarrow Farm which is in between light wood lane roundabout and little angels nursery at Norton. She tried to catch him but he ran off scared. We tried to find him again with some food but he had gone. Really hope you find him soon.

Hope he is home soon,

Ben will be very nervous and scared now his brother has been captured and he is on his own. His owner has been returning to the woods regularly to try and find Ben and I have given appropriate advice with regard scenting and setting up a feeding station. Have also advised to inform surrounding farms and some home owners close to the edge of the woods .
Hoping Ben is caught and back home very soon with his brother who is pining for him x Last edited: 2014-02-16 12:35:55 by Jumanji - Co-ordinator.South.Yorkshire

Posting here but I very much doubt it's a match unless yours was previously chipped with name Caesar or it was quickly after being taken. A long way as well but have a check anyway - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=471471449623590&set=gm.268490693313914&type=1&theater

Such a shame. Make sure the owner keeps checking Deerness Kennels (StrayAction) and Stray Aid, both in Durham. They seem to have a lot of Greyhound/Lurcher types brought in.

Ditto my comment on Jack's page - would be useful to know exactly where he was when he ran off. Hope both dogs are found soon.
