- Thank you for explaining that Your Dog walker :) and also for your help today trying to locate owners via chip details for this lovely girl.
Wonderful news though, 'Millie' is now back home safe with her very relieved owners :) she had been missing since yesterday afternoon. - Sometimes a puppy is brought along for microchipping along with its siblings by the breeder prior to passing them on to new homes. They may ask for the registration to be withheld to avoid further admin costs for the new owners who then, perhaps overwhelmed with their new arrival, forget the formalities.
Some times a dog may be microchipped with a paper, rather than online registration form. If the form is not completed or lost, the registration is not filed and the dog might as well not be chipped.
The microchip database will be able to identify which vet/authorised implanter the chip was supplied to, but without a completed registration this does little more than tell where it was microchipped. - 2014-02-10 18:08 Abe babe
