Seems to be a problem processing the post I left for everyone? And the phone number is still visible? I'm sure there was nothing in it to warrant moderation?

I have just got of yhe phone with Vic. He cannot recall who told him this information or how they knew. He does not know why he wasnt told before or did he ask. Vic is a poorly man and seems to believe this information and has accepted Kelly's fate. In short, rightly or not, the event has brought closure. He had moved on but every year on the anniversary he would understandably be sad. I woild appreciate my mobile number being removed from the details above. ThanksLast edited: 2011-10-16 01:59:21 by Angus

You would not be able to contact Vic as all contact was through me and you have my number. Its now disconnected as I have moved. I will call him tonight. BonBon is on my boat today and has just updated me. I havent spoken to Vic for couple months now, but I know he can see this page sometimes via a mate. I am sceptical, but if Vic finds closure with this information then he can move on. If he wants me to update this page I will do so.

Call me cynical - but what if this other person said this to stop anyone still attempting to trace Kelly?

Have tried to ring owner Vic for an update and to give some support...but phone now disconnected.

My thoughts exactly...

So this person who knew who took Kelly feels better for telling the owner do they? Why oh why if they knew who did it, didnt they speak up earlier. Is it possible that Kelly could have been runited before she died. RIP Kelly.

Hi there,

Just to let you know that Vic (Kelly's owner) has been told by someone who knew who took the dog that Kelly died nearly 2 years ago. He thought you would want to know.

Already checked thanks Muns. No joy. Was a year yesterday she was stolen and we still look for you Kelly. Owner still rings regularly for any news, sadly none. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Still nothing on Kelly and very difficult to keep owner from being dispondent. No calls or sightings unfortunately, with the exception of a crank call to owners relative who intercepts calls. Sad sad lady who calls herself Krystina and pretends to be a freelance reporter. She wants locking up to stop her causing anymore distress to already grieving owners. Watch out, she calls anyone. She has an accent, not sure what - Russian or similar maybe. Don't give her the time of day, she has some serious mind problems!! Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Definite conspiracy to keep me indoors ! Set out to do so much but found Ewell 'closed' and all roads around completely bunged up ! Eventually got to Oaks park, put up new Kelly near the cafe at car park entrance, old one was still in place but rather tatty, Roxie had been taken down, wonder who did that ? Didn't get as far as replacing poster other side of park today but at least I know there is one there. Postered at both sides of Beddington Park, where cars park and one on tree smack in the middle, to catch the pedestrian dog walkers ! Also postered in the Foyer of the big Asda at Mitcham common, very useful notice board there. On the way back did the Cheam side of Nonsuch. Will hope to replace old posters the Stoneleigh side tomorrow, when doubtless there will be more traffic chaos waiting for me. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How heartbreaking for Kelly's owner that she was snatched from his car. Dog theft devastates the lives of the people left behind to pick up the pieces and search for the missing canine member of the family. Really hope that there is some good news about Kelly very soon, she needs to be safely reunited with her ownerxxxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How awful! The poor man has lost his wife and has now had the only thing he has left and that matters to him snatched from him from some heartless twat who doesn't give a sh*t! I hope the idiot rots in hell - but not before Kelly is returned!!! Totally heartless, evil scum. There is NO excuse for keeping someone else's pet, even if you are treating them well. Its so emotionally traumatic for an owner, especially when the dog is all they have left in the world. My heart really breaks for the owner and I am praying that Kelly is home where she belongs very very soon xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I met Kellys owner this evening. He is still distraught and choked when he speaks of both Kelly and his deceased wife. He had telephoned Sutton police who were on the phone when I arrived. I spoke with them and they are aware of the situation now. We have a new photo of Kelly, which he found by chance when he was clearing out his car. It was taken just before his wife died and he says she probably put them under the seat when they went out to collect them, so they were not visible. He thinks Kelly will probably look like this now as it was before she was clipped. He has given an interview to the BBC, but cannot recall when or what program. They didn't leave a card. I wish I had offered to go now when I heard they might come. The contact numbers are also to be changed. When the poster appears changed please renew your efforts to poster anywhere you feel may be relevant and even where not. I am inclined to also direct posters to the south coast - what do you think admin? Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Quite a lengthy piece in the Epsom Post, had me in tears anyway. But sadly no picture. She is such a pretty little soul I do think that would have caught the eye of people who may just pass the story by. Lets hope the right person will read it and we get some good news at last. I have received this information via a medium: Firstly, I can see that she is very friendly and perky and yaps quite a bit when she gets excited. She loves to roll over and have her tummy rubbed and loves chewy sticks. I see her inside a house. There is a distinct echo to her barks, so I feel that there may not be carpets in this house and not too much furniture. I also see a small wooden kitchen table. The man in the house looks big to me and walks with a slight hunch forward. I see Kelly going for walks wearing a coat of some kind. It looks like a coastal area as I see railings above the beach. The houses along this road have low brick walls along the pavement and steps up into the front gardens. The other thing I see, and this is rather obscure I'm afraid, is a blue motorway roadsign. The sign has the symbol for a large roundabout on it and the word I got connected with this began with O and ended with the sound 'bourne'. I get a vague impression that Kelly was an attempt to replace one that was lost. This man likes Kelly and treats her well. I sincerely hope that this is of use in finding Kelly and reuniting her with her owner. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Postered around Colliers Wood/sth Wimbledon, Homebase (manager almost weeping at the sadness of the story !), S'burys Hypermarket, area of shops & restaurants near Colliers Wood tube, 'whacky warehouse' where there appeared to be 10 million children on a summer play project (sounded like even more !) Several around the area at the back of St. Georges Hospital, big housing estates there (thinking of the psychic) .Leisure centre off Garratt Lane (very helpful lady put it up in reception. Hopelessly lost for most of the time ! Somehow arrived at Wimbledon Common by Canizaro park, put one on the common there and one at the entrance to the park itself. (Ran out of posters and due to lack of trees in the grottier bits also ran out of tape) If there is anyone that can put posters around the common area it might be helpful, loads of dog walkers. If not I'll try and get there again later this week. Husband wants to know if there is a 'Wifelost' sight where he can register me as missing (most of the time) Horrible thought, posters of me going up all around the area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Not quiet the words I used, but what the heck, at least shes prominent. Have managed to get 10 up around the village and Raynes Park border. Couldn't get near the shops up there and there are two phone boxes. One on the roundabout and one o/s the post office up there. I figured if these people phoned they had to park near the box and the only time will be at night. If anyone can do on foot that'll be great, time and posters ran out for me. Did both ends of the phone exchange as there is a box there too. Might jog memories if anyone saw anything. Did down by kingston road end also (Dundonald Park) bit. Waiting by the phone now. I have finally received a response from Dorking police. As expected we have no further information, not even a starting pint on the whereabouts of the telephone box. The email reads as follows: "Thank you for your e-mail. Due to Data protection I can not divulge any information to you. However police did follow a number of enquiries regarding the theft but none of which gave us anything to follow on to. The owner was given regular updates via my colleague on the enquiries. I am sorry, but we have done all we can in this instance." So basically, even though the owner is elderly and confused, he is also expected to recall everything the police have conveyed to him, in order to pass it on to those of us who voluntarily want to help with Kelly's recovery. I have suggested that they could maybe send a written report to the owner! Sue x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to Nikki who runs Epsom canine rescue, she would be happy for you to send her missing 'locals' her kennel is actually at smallfields, so covers the reigate area as well. Due to moving house her e-mail at the moment is Nikki@dashmount.co.uk I have just sent her Kelly and Molly (she has particular interest in staffie thefts, and useful contacts)Re: Kelly has anyone spoken to Paul Morrie at Merton enviromental services ? she says he is very wonderful and totally helpful when it comes to missing dogs. She will forward any posters sent to her to contacts in south london as well as locally. Suggests that the nationals would cover this terribly sad story and recommends The Mail on Sunday as being very animal friendly. Wow...it's too hot for all this thinking ! I have just received a call regarding Kelly and her disappearance. The information is from a pet psychic who was called upon to help. The information is as follows: 'She has spoken to the dog, Kelly, who is still alive. She was sold on by someone who wanted money fast, drugs maybe? she is living with a decent family who have three children, one of whom is in a pushchair. Kelly's name has been changed. She wants to get back home to her owner as she misses him.' Unfortunately we do not have an area to go to, but an estate was mentioned. We can only hope someone watching may recognise this information as someone they know. If I get a call back from papers, or if someone else speaks tot hem first, please add this to the conversation. So much for my attack on south London ! Sorry Sue. A.M. hospital appt(husband not me) took forever, he couldn't drive after so I had to hang about waiting and another date with the N.H.S. tomorrow is going to probably 'lose' Wednesday as well. Did manage to get to Oaks park, postered nearish to both entrances and very bravely on the telegraph pole right outside the travellers site just along the lane from there. With my usual efficiency I had loads of posters ready (took your advice and am quite literally 'sticking to cling film' !) but ran out of drawing pins ! Newsagents at Woodmansterne, sells excellent drawing pins and very kindly put a poster in his window, opposite the green and cricket club . Also spoke to the ranger on the downs, he had seen all the posters we had put around the area and very helpfully stapled one on the outside wall of his 'office' in the car park on the roundabout. Probably the best place to be seen by people at the Terrier Derby this Sunday.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I had a call from Animal Rescue this evening, the owner had been on the phone to her in tears. He is desperate for this little girls return. As we know she's all he has in the world since his wife died a few months ago. If the people that have her are watching this forum I hope they rot in hell!! I intend to get in touch with the Wimbledon Guardian and support the request for Kelly to be highlighted with the pieces in the Telegraph and the Surrey Advertiser. South London helpers can you possibly step up your postering, I will get over that way as soon as I can to help. If those people are watching beware, theres a lot of people on here who will have great joy in hurting you and seeing you suffer the same. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Good going Jan, forgot Nonsuch is notorious for dog theft also. Good job someone is on the ball! Postered in Nonsuch park this morning, was completely surrounded by concerned dog walkers asking questions looking at the posters ( did a 'Molly' as well) One lady was waiting for her friend who she said is involved with dog rescue/welfare etc. and she would make sure she saw them too. As I drove off I counted ten people round the tree reading the posters, much discussion. I think it's fair to say that if the lady dog walkers of Nonsuch ever get their hands on any of the evil scum that steal our dogs they will never do it again (or anything else for that matter !) Also postered for both the girls in Morden park, there is a funfair there this weekend.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters also up on Barnes Common and on village notice board at Barnes Green near the pond. Barnes Fair tomorrow, so that's good. Could Kington-upon-Thames people (KT1??) help too perhaps? Message from PatsyB: Was in London with the car yesterday, so put up lots of posters at Putney Common where the dog-walkers go and also one at Roehampton Gate to Richmond Park. Any SW helpers out there who can do more posters at Barnes, Putney, Wimbledon commons? Am in S. London again on Friday and will try to do more. P. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

OK I think Sue & I have a plan of action. Have also just realised that we may not have mailed Wimbledon helpers lately so have done SW19 & 20 to cover them - there aren't many (7 of you!) so please if you get the poster please do offer assistance if you can and get posters up asap. Can anyone cover other dodgy South London areas like New Addington please?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

That won't matter for any press, Sue - we can give all the details (or you can...!) and we can arrange for calls to come via the office etc so owner protected. Would be grateful if when you talk to him you broach the subject though. Bear in mind elderly confused owners (no offence) are good news stories and this would be an amazing opportunity in a good paper... assuming they pick it up. Will talk to you on pm in a mo re horley in more detail.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Dee, I'm afraid I didn't get to Horley, was tied up with Molly and Jasper and their respective owners. Did get a Kelly poster up in Somerfield Bookham. If you can get some press for this will be great. Concious that owner is probably unable to help much so far as interview because easily muddled. Will pm you Dee.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Do we know how the person from Wimbledon knew how to contact owner - was it from the tag? I do think it needs to be taken seriously though, as well as local angles (because if he was stolen from the area someone from the area knows who took her? Do you know what accent the person had? We don't seem to have had much response from the Wimbledon area - are there any helpers in that area? Can you pm me as much of the conversation as you've been told? Can anyone in Wimbledon advise of local website, papers, places that we can get Kelly mentioned in?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It would be fantastic if you could get some press coverage on this, it is such a heartbreaking story. We don't really have a clue which direction we should be postering 'cos of the Wimbledon connection . I haven't been Horley way as yet, but I think Sue and Patsy may well have been while 'Jaspering'. I will take some Kelly posters with me when I go out that way tomorrow. Sue if you see this before tomorrow 9.30am ish could you post if you have put Kelly posters with Jaspers. I have very little ink left in my printer, after doing all the Jaspers (which I probably won't need)and only a few of Kelly left. Possibly manage another 3 or 4 but that's all. Sorry to be so stupid but I haven't the faintest idea how to change the ink thingy, neither has anyone else in this house so it will be an emergency call to my brother at the weekend...patheticLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Conscious Jan & Sue that i've neglected this one a bit, let me know if I can help at all. In the meantime we may be able to get a bit of press on Kelly - i've asked Jazzi to forward Kelly's details on - a deserving one this one i think. Have you been able to cover the Horley area at all?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Update from owners contact. No calls as yet received and Kelly is now being circulated on their monthly list of missing / found, which is sent out to various pet shops etc in the south. She will find out if Kelly's tail is docked or not - Jan. Posters are being put up in the Crawley area, library etc. Anywhere is possible now. They try not to call the owner too much as he thinks they are calling to say Kelly is found. Lets hope there will be one of those calls soon. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

All that can be said at this time is the Police are involved. Patsy you have a good point about the auctions. Most use the car park for the halls or the auction houses. Will see if I can find out what was on at that time. Am trying to find out if any sightings / or an update from contact. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Posters now up at National Trust Car Parks at Young Street (opp. Salvation Place) and at Stepping Stones at foot of Boxhill, also in Westhumble and Mickleham villages, and Dorking Station. (v. nice Station Master, who says lots of dogs go missing in the Colley Hill area at Reigate). Postered a bit in the town (Sainsbury's, opposite Waitrose, both petshops and Haskets coffee shop). Posters given to Crow's and Windibanks auction houses to display. Both will display posters on sale preview and sale days (Windibanks next previews are Thurs 6 July in the evening and all day Fri 7 July, with sale on Sat 8 July., i.e. this week. Need to check Crow's next dates). Apparently Kelly was stolen from a Renault 19, poss. dark metallic greeny- colour. A large man, accompanied by a woman were seen talking to the owner and then, when he had left, were seen taking the dog from the car and driving off in another car. It's not clear at this time if both people got into the car that drove away. Apparently, this was all captured on CCTV footage and is being checked. One of the auction-house employees told me all this. P. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sooooooo sorry, had such plans for today on the postering front, but husband decided to feel extremely poorly since the early hours (who doesn't in this heat !) and is too pathetic to leave at the moment ! Sorry Patsy you are unlikely to see me in Dorking, hopefully tomorrow. Intended going to Ranmore common, (got a 'Molly' there already) Car park at foot of Boxhill (Cafe where the bikers gather) amongst other places. Going to try and get to Oaks park today, there is a 'site' almost opposite the main entrance so will take a 'Molly' as well. Quite often go to Ripley, so could do that at some point this week. Sickness permitting. Sue, I do think the papers would be a wonderful help in this so, so sad story. One more thing (sighs of relief all round) does Kelly have a tail ? It doesn't say on poster and would clearly be very useful in terms of recognizing her.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from PatsyB: Sorry, still haven't postered Dorking town yet (so not so supercharged!) - will get there late Monday morning for sure. Maybe I shall bump into Jan(?). Am driving to London quite a lot this week, so shall have posters with me and do good places in S. London.I agree, it's hard to know where to target on this one. Also think places where they have big car-boots at the weekends could be good (like Ripley on A3). Will try to get to some of those too. P. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jan ,Kelly could be anywhere between Dorking and South London so it all helps. I only managed two in Motspur Park yesterday because of over run of match. Too late to do any after as we had to get home. You can only do what you can in the time you have spare. Another hot one today I fear. Can only hope all our lost friends have access to shelter and water. Come on Kelly, help us all out. Sue xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How about Patsy for England manager that woman is super-charged ! Only managed a poster, next to Mollys in the 'hill' car park on Epsom Downs so far. Ran out of drawing pins and near collapsing in the heat ! Try & make sure there are plenty of posters around Downs (for Molly as well) at the time the 'Terrier Derby' on July 23rd. Although obviously hope they won't be needed by then.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from PatsyB: Have postered in the following areas: Effingham common and village, Bookham common (on the Effingham side near the Bookham Grange Hotel), Bookham village in car parks by shops , up Woodland Road by bridlepaths towards Polesden Lacey (lots of riders and walkers use this path), Fetcham village and River Lane, and Bocketts Farm car park. Plan to poster in Dorking town later today . Have emailed poster to friend in Richmond who walks her dog in Richmond Park and also the Deerpark and knows lots of people. Will report back. P. Sorry to say family crisis slowing me down on postering front. Not so hopeful this is the direction she is likely to be in anyway. If the call from Wimbledon was before any posters were up phone no. could only have come from her tag.... ? Have got as far as Oxshott, Tesco Leatherhead, Box Hill, Headley, hopefully sister has put one up in Ashtead village. Other sister lives in Capel(nearer Dorking than me) so will put some up round there and at Leith Hill probably tomorrow. Happy to move more 'townwards' next week if there aren't enough helpers in that area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Message from PatsyB: What a sad story - poor, poor owner. Good idea to involve SW helpers. Have emailed poster to friend in Mickleham and will go out postering myself later this afternoon. Have also emailed poster to local neighbourhood watch police contact. Jayne: would it be good idea to be more specific on poster, saying Kelly was stolen from car parked behind Dorking Halls in Dorking? Also perhaps we could have description of car? This is busy car park as two auction houses round there (Windibanks and Crows) and lots of vans coming and going - someone may have seen something. Also Swimming Pool/Leisure Centre., so again lots of people in and out. P. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am going to Bletchingly on Sat and will take posters there - is there any more info about the Wimbledon call - trouble is, some people will find it funny to make false claims. This has had me in tears. My parents had a little yorkie when they were both quite elderly, she was the light of their lives and if something like this had happened I honestly believe it would have killed them. I can't think of words bad enough to describe the scum that did this. Surely this is a story the 'papers could really be a huge help with ?
