Response from vet

Hi Claire I'll pass this onto the dog wardens so they can check but, from the picture we have it looks like a different dog. Our one has some white fur around the nose and a thin white line between the lines. Unfortunatly people have been known to cut chips out or the chips migrate around the body.

The lady who sighted this dog has been in verbal communication with the owner, Tim. I believe that Tim went there to have a look this morning?? Anyway, owner has thanked the sighter very much for her phonecall. I think if people could just be aware that this sighted dog may or may not be still roaming and to report any sightings in as does look very similar.

I think the sighted dog looks very much like this dog, lost/stolen then discarded and this boys owner does say he is large and has deerhound in him. Sarah hope you get a response.
Sarah
I have emailed all the info and current status of this sighted dog to the owner yesterday.

I so hope the spotted one is this boy. Other family members had dogs stolen previously so it would be great to get at least one back.
