REASON: TO HELP REUNITE DOGS
REWARD: TO SEE OWNERS SMILEY:-) FACES - 2014-02-26 20:14 Patlucky
- I have read all this thread.
The more helpers here the better.
I do not do facebook for the reasons all this trouble here.
I think Jobadger deserves an open apology here.
Sp Jo might consider staying, you need her and the dogs need her. - 2014-02-26 19:48 Patlucky
- Please do not give up Jobager I believe you.
The dogs NEED you so please do not give up on them.

- I don't want to take up more of your time, I've been mulling over my post since I hit send and if I should just have said nothing. I'd just like to add to my post last night and say... How could she have rushed to the birth of her nephew AND held that scared, poorly, malnourished puppy dog all night long? This lady doesn't know which way is up and if she did she'd still tell you you were wrong. I personally didn't send a message as I knew of at least one person that had and when it came to light that she'd posted to say it had found a lovely home, I contacted that person so they could follow up on it.
Keep up the good work and I'm happy to help with adding lost and found if you ever need it xx - 2014-02-26 09:34 jobadger
- I've said all I have to say Jayne - as have you. I shall continue to spend 90% of my waking hours searching and postering for lost and missing dogs........... that will not be through Doglost however. I cannot work with mistrust.Last edited: 2014-02-26 09:37:55 by jobadger

- I don't do FB...I don't want to know whats been posted...And I don't like it when Doglost receives complaints about FB posts...as I pointed out to finder we are not responsible for FB and complaints should be made to them. And as I have repeatedly said this topic and peoples feelings should be on FB. I have a responsibility to run this forum for the benefit of lost and found dogs and have to protect this site from complaints and potential legal action on a near daily basis...all due to FB posts.
Last night I had to call on help from several others as we had a backlog of dogs needing to go on site that were not being activated due to emails and phonecalls...distracting us from our work.
May I ask that Jo emails me personally if she would like to speak and that this thread remains as a found dog report.

- Whilst I am humbled by your kind comments, I am fully behind MillieVW's post here. I am dismayed at the lack of support from Doglost over this matter. Unless anyone was fully involved in the situation that evening, how can comments be made regarding the behaviour of Doglost volunteers and postings on Facebook. I do take great exception to being accused of being involved in sending hate mail - nothing was misinterpreted - I - and many others - acted immediately, politely and correctly in an attempt to stop the situation escalating, which, unfortunately it did. I do not for one minute believe the finder's stories. Thieves can cheat you but liars can hang you. If you prefer to accept her comments, then fine by me - your site - your choice. I am disappointed and expected more from a site that claims to respect and need its volunteers and yet mistrusts their actions and comments..............

- Jayne what she said was the pup had now got a nice new home! I also suspect most of us didn't pm her at all.

- I have posted this young GSD on BIGGSD.
Someone may know who owns her.
Fingers crossed.

- Jayne as far as I can tell anyone involved with doglost and that had contacted the finder were polite and tried to advise her on what she needed to do. I have seen some of her replies to people that were nothing but polite and she's really been quite unpleasant. Please back up your supporters and don't take the claims at face value. We think more of doglost than to be anything other than courteous. The screenshots are out there for everyone to see and I don't think it's possible to misinterpret anything, it's all straight forward enough. This girl has thankfully been picked up and is safe, the rest is for the authorities to deal with.
I don't think it's star, she looked much lighter and I think she'd be much older than this pup? - 2014-02-25 23:15 mimsysmum
- This dog is definitely not Star? Are we certain? X
- 2014-02-25 21:57 Sylvia Phillips
- Honestly Jayne, I find her claim very hard to believe. I sent her 2 very polite messages and she hasn't read them so what are the chance that she bothered to read others except the ones that people paid to go straight to her inbox? She hasn't been at all co operative or honest for that matter and sadly I think she's going to get away with what she did. :(
- 2014-02-25 20:32 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- I have spoken to the finder tonight...she said she had rehomed the dog...or rather found the dog a home for the night...she admits it could have been mis interprupted....But she was on her way to the birth of her sisters baby! during this stressful time she had 200 hate mails?
Is this the way we do things?
I think not!
Can you imagine your phone ringing with hate messages...and some bizzare ones saying I know where you live? frightening too say the least...
so please again I ask for calm...and as always we are communicating directly with all info coming in...we are not taking sides...just making sure the dog is safe. TX - 2014-02-25 19:17 Goldenfrodo
- I've sent a message to jobadger asking her not to leave. I've been the co-ordinator for Wales for a long time and she's helped me such a lot. She goes out postering and searching for so many dogs in North Wales that I would be so upset if she left.
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that she will re-consider her decision. - 2014-02-25 14:54 Inkie's Mum
- Jobadger, I don't think anyone who had this pup's best interests at heart cannot have been infuriated by what's gone on. However, now the pup is safe and waiting for the owner or to be rehomed. DL and all the people like you and I tried our very best, there were so many nasty and so many incorrect comments flying about on FB and ending up on here too, that it's no wonder everyone's tempers got very frayed. Please reconsider and stay on DL, I've often seen helpful and useful comments and input by your good self, and it would be a pity for that to stop. Please stay.
- 2014-02-25 14:30 Nina
- jobadger. I to feel sad that you feel the need to leave doglost. I dont very oftern make comments on doglost I am quiet happy to observe and if at times I notice something that I feel is important to doglost ie. if a dog has been reunited without HQ having time to notice I let them know. I am sure with the ever increasing problems of dogs going misssing it will mean that we have lost another pair of helping eyes.
- 2014-02-25 13:09 Unknown
- jobadger. It looks as though Doglost still needs you. We are all human, and sometimes we dont think, and make incorrect decisions. You have been a help on DL, and you have helped me when I was unsure of how to donate online. Hope you have a change of heart.
- 2014-02-25 11:54 Seeks
- I talked to the dog wardens office on Saturday..... There is always an out of hours line. I am so glad the pup (who is 100% confirmed as the same one) is now safe and will be claimed or rehomed safely.
Jo Like you I am upset about nobody helping before the pup was re-found but please re-think leaving. You have helped so much it would be a shame to let a stupid person who didn't act at all well make other missing lost dogs lose you as a helper x - 2014-02-25 11:38 Unknown
- WHOOPS! MEA|NT TO SAY I MANAGED TO CONTACT THE DW ON A W/END
- 2014-02-25 11:36 Unknown
- One doesn`t know what to think: all a puzzle. At least this girl is safe now, and I hope there will be a happy result for her. I did once manage to contact the DW in my area, when I sas a small black dog on its own, and not very old. I phoned the DW, and waited but after half an hour the owner turned up. Apparently the dog has run off on a walk, and they had been searching for him/her. Happy result anyway.

- This pup is in the pound at Crynant. I've moved it from unknown back into the Found Section in the hope that her owner will see it and come forward to claim her.

- 2014-02-24 23:28 jobadger
- For the 3rd time of asking, please remove my details from the Doglost site. I do not wish to be associated with it any further. I have no wish to waste anyone's time - my main concern was - and is - this puppy.
- 2014-02-24 23:20 SashaKameo
- I don't believe it either Sylvia, and anyone decent would make damn sure it was safe whilst in your care, especially after the trauma the poor little girl has gone through. At least we now know she is out of harms way xx
- 2014-02-24 22:55 Sylvia Phillips
- This is disgusting!! That poor pup. For the record, I don't believe for a second that the pup ran off on the way to the vet! Not after everything the finder said. :( Thank God this pup is finally safe.
- 2014-02-24 22:41 SashaKameo
- It has now been confirmed that it is the same dog, and she has no microchip. Apparently on the way to the Vets she was spooked by a jogger and ran off?? she was found by a little girl named Shannon, her Mum rang RSPCA but she is in the local Pound at Crynant.Last edited: 2014-02-24 22:48:10 by SashaKameo

- elaine.e looks very much like same dog - facial markings are same - at least this one has been through correct channels and not "rehomed" after a few hours by finder https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=591896634212305&set=gm.10151992376612081&type=1&theater

- Might be coincidence, but on a facebook page called Port Talbot Old & New there's a photo and comments about a female GSD pup, who looks amazingly like the one on this page, being found in the same area today. The puppy has been taken to the local RSPCA. I thought I'd better post about her on here in case it's the same puppy. A few people on the facebook page seem to think so.

- Is there any news yet on this lovely little girls rightful owner? God Bless her, hope they are re united soon xx
- 2014-02-23 15:00 janetf
- I am sure the finder is now dealing with a huge backlash on Facebook but to be honest has brought it on herself. She was contacted politely by many people, including myself, asking her to please report to the dog warden and police and have the pup scanned. All she needed to do was post to say she would do so when things opened on Monday morning. Instead she posted that the pup had been abandoned, neglected and then had a new home. I have records of every post she made and her comments on them. Right up to the last personal message she sent me which was offensive and homophobic. I have now blocked her I'm afraid and I will be passing all of the evidence to the authorities tomorrow. I really hope this pup is returned home soon.
- 2014-02-23 13:54 jobadger
- and just as a matter of interest - it is not always impossible to get hold of the relevant authorities over the weekend. I am also VERY concerned that this pup may not go back to the 'rightful owner'. A lot of us worked damned hard last night to get this woman to see sense...........
There were NO excuses for the posting 18 hours ago 'Puppy has now found herself a lovely new home, thank you everyone for ur kind comments and offers, its lovely to know there are still genuine people out there x
She knew full well before this comment was posted that what she was doing was wrong. Believe me - nothing was misread on FB - I am still so very angry.

- Finder stated she had no intentions of notifying dog warden and rehomed the pup herself and is now back peddling furiously. I really hope this little one does have a chip and we can be sure she goes back to her true owner x
- 2014-02-23 13:22 Marge
- Thanks Sashakameo & Seeks.I was so angry at the finder of this little puppy deciding to re.home without doing anything whatsoever to find her rightful owner or have her scanned for a chip.I paid FB to send a message straight to her FB instead of it going into her `other` site warning her that she had broken the law re homing an animal that wasn't legally hers to do so! her reply was.its a pity you didnt tell me that last night,!!!Can any one please find out that the pups `owner` is genuine, and not as suggested by some a `family friend!`

- I've posted the following comment on the NORTH WEST DOGLOST FB GROUP and also my own FB page:
*** CAN WE PLEASE HAVE NO MORE COMMENTS ON THIS THREAD ***
An UPDATE will be posted a.s.a.p.
There has been lots of different threads going around fb re this found GSD and DogLost Co-ordinators have been getting tagged in from all over fb. It has been getting followed up and she will be going through the right authorities and checked for a chip. It has been posted that an owner has come forward and if not already will be getting checked out. Looking forward to seeing it confirmed she is back home with her family. x
- 2014-02-23 10:56 SashaKameo
- Hope the pup will soon find it's rightful owner, but whilst people are querying why the owner has not registered the lost pup on here, perhaps it may be that they have no access to the Internet? Whereas the finder obviously has, but it took a lady named Marge to register the pup as being found. Thank you so much Marge. The local RSPCA, Llys Nina, to where the pup was found have also been informed as apparently they have a rehoming centre there. Last edited: 2014-02-23 11:08:57 by SashaKameo

- Yes agreed Sylvia..The finder did a wonderful job in saving her and making sure she is okay...She has stated the puppy will be going to the vets tomorrow...and in all fairness to the finder its impossible to get hold of the dog warden over the weekend...hopefully this will be done tomorrow...Sometimes things can be misread on FB..and the finder did take the time to put details up. may I ask for some calm here please and no more crossposting on this site from FB unless with permission from the original person who posted the message.
- 2014-02-23 10:01 Goldenfrodo
- I saw this on facebook last night as it was posted on my Wales Group. I'll try to get the facts confirmed as soon as possible. Hopefully when this little one is scanned, things will become clearer.
- 2014-02-23 08:36 Sylvia Phillips
- The lady who found the pup thinks she was dumped because of how she looks, but isn't it also possible that the pup has got into the state she's in now because she got lost? It is worrying that a puppy who's obviously a pedigree hasn't been registered on here. According to the latest post from the finder is that her neighbour is 'fostering' the pup and will be taking her to the vet to check for a chip on Monday.I hope the little one is chipped. Tbh I feel for the finder, she tried to do the right by taking the pup in but it looks like she didn't know what she was legally obliged to do and doesn't trust her local dog warden. I hope it can be sorted out.Last edited: 2014-02-23 08:37:39 by Sylvia Phillips

- I was the one contacted about the owner being disabled. I wouldn't declare the owner as 'found' yet as I am still waiting for details from the person who messaged me. However, as the owner has apparently contacted the police, and Karen, you have done the same with the screenshots, we can hope for a positive outcome soon. A friend with an extremely good dog media contact is getting involved, so hopefully, puppy is far too hot to handle now.Last edited: 2014-02-23 00:50:58 by vickik9mgraham

- The "real owner found" is not confirmed. We will all keep checking back and making sure this puppy does get scanned and reported to the warden. I hope the finder realises just how hot this puppy is now.

as for the other person she has broken the law. x x - 2014-02-23 00:04 Karen - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
- Just read this on Facebook:
REAL OWNER FOUND:
Another lady on FB has been sent the following:
Right, had a message from a lady who is in touch with the actual owner. She has given me permission to share this:
the owner of the puppy has been looking for her she is disabled and couldnt chase the puppy she is notifying police also the puppy is chipped. - 2014-02-22 23:58 Seeks
- Thanks for adding this poor mite Marge. We tried everything to stop the stupid woman doing this and I along with a lot have many phone calls as this is dog theft!!
Will very happily share this one EVERYWHERE x - 2014-02-22 23:42 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
- UPDATE not long posted on finders page:
Finder has just put this post on her page "This so called stupid woman as some of u have called me walked the dunes for over a hour to rescue a abandoned puppy who was severely stressed as she had been dumped, she is flea ridden, had a nasty ear infection, her ribs were showing through her coat. Due to her being so scared i held her and cuddled her while she dirtied over me. Yes i could have left her there to be eaten by the foxes but instead took her home, fed her, played with her and give her a lovely warm bed. My house is under major renevation and isnt safe for her to stay otherwise i wouldnt have hesitated. For those of u who are quick to jump to conclusion mind ur own bloody business and get ur facts straight! The neighbour isnt keeping her just looking after her until monday, she will check if the puppy is chipped. Ur more than welcome to send the dog warden over, as im sure the owner will not be claiming the dumped pup! - 2014-02-22 23:14 Karen - Area Co-ordinator London, Home Counties & Police Liaison
- I have also messaged Finder with info on Dog Warden, also this website should she want to put on here. If anyone reading this hears who the proper owners are, we have kept screen grabs of all of her posts on FB should they be required. I've also spoken to South Wales police and e-mailed all details to the Dog Warden there. Please please let this puppy be safe until it's rightful owners come forward
- 2014-02-22 23:07 vickik9mgraham
- I have messaged the finder repeatedly, given copious amounts of advice, and stated that I can help ensure the dog's safety as I am involved with a GSD welfare charity. However, as it seems that she has now rehomed the dog, I will be calling the police in the morning as this is a clear case of 'theft by finding'.
- 2014-02-22 23:04 Doglady
- I have been following the puppy since it was put on Fb I have shred details on all the sites I am a member of,I got a message that this person had re-homed this puppy which is against the law and been watching what people were posting I have left a post on the Fb page regarding this.I would be furious if this happened to one of my dogs.this person says the puppy was malnourished I have had that breed for years and a puppy of that age is growing so fast they can look and feel so thin.I will continue to post on sites I go on We need to find her owner.sorry about me ranting on but feel so mad about this she wont listen.
- 2014-02-22 22:29 elaine.e
- I messaged the finder directly on her facebook page this afternoon to politely explain that what she has done is against the law, as have others, but she hasn't replied. Many have also commented on some of the facebook "shares" so she must be aware that what she has done is illegal. She says on her facebook page that the puppy was malnourished, riddled with fleas and had an ear infection.
- 2014-02-22 22:23 SashaKameo
- Please let's find this little girls rightful owners, the lady who found her should not have given her away, surely this is classed as theft, when you do not report a found dog to the warden or Police? she needs to be back home where she belongs, God Bless her xx
- 2014-02-22 22:11 KazStubbs
- this pup has been given a new home without the finder informing the Dog Warden or the Police. This is not good and I feel for it's original owners who have lost this puppy

- I've seen the found details on fb and have copies. Photo uploaded onto here now. Lots of people have been advising the finder to report the found details to the Dog Warden but does not look like they have. Comments on finders page say they have found a new home.
Hopefully the finder will follow advice and report this gorgeous pup to the right authorities. - 2014-02-22 21:15
- Thank you for taking the time to list this found dog and ensuring the safety of the dog.
Please ensure that you notify your local Dog Warden and the local Police Station - in Scotland you MUST inform your local Police Station and if possible contact the Dog Warden also.
The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
Please check on our Missing pages in case the Found dog has been registered as missing with us.
If possible please add a photo as this greatly assists our work in matching Found dogs with Missing dogs.
