- This was such a shocking crime .....in justice Myself, I am pleased to hear the outcome. I was so relieved when Gizmo was found and now pray he and his owners can try to put this dreadful event behind them #justice prevails xx

- I'm actually not sure that the teenage girls were not part of it? That happens sometimes, they send the kids on to collect ransom and give dog back. It's not very clear from the report, but that was my take on it.
- 2015-05-09 10:41 Jaycey
- Would be lovely to hear from owner how Gizmo is now, after his terrible ordeal...and a nice reunion picture lifts hearts :-) ♡ xx

- Thanks for the update Kimmybear. Hope lovely Gizmo recovers quickly and fully from his ordeal.
Proves it is not worth anyone dog knapping - they'll get caught and get jailed. - 2015-05-08 20:09 charlie
- Let's hope this is the beginning of prison sentences being given on behalf of our beloved pets. Hope gizmo is now fully recovered.
- 2015-05-08 17:58 Unknown
- Justice has been done. Hope you all rot in jail. you are cowards. well done to the teenage girls who found him.
- 2015-05-08 17:33 Kit'sMum
- Very pleased he is back and that the perpetrator has been severely punished. Hopefully this sentencing will serve as a deterrent. The two teenage girls who found Gizmo deserve praise too.

- THIS IS WHAT NEWS MEDIA STATES "A dog-napper has been jailed for more than six years after stealing a chihuahua at knifepoint in Orpington.
Joseph Smith, 29, pleaded guilty to robbery and burglary after initially pleading not guilty.
He was sentenced at Inner London Crown Court on Monday (March 16) to six years for the robbery and 10 months for the burglary to run consecutively.
Smith and two others forced their way into a house in Leesons Hill last February, punching a 42-year-old man repeatedly when he answered the door.
They stole a safe, some jewellery and a chihuahua before fleeing.
The dog’s owner, who does not wish to be named, spoke out now justice has been served.
The 38-year-old woman said: “Luckily me and my son weren’t home at the time.
“My little boy’s dad answered the door; when he did another two men jumped from round the corner.
“They started hitting and punching him and one pulled a knife out.”
During the raid one of their three chihuahuas, Gizmo, was stolen.
The mum said: “I couldn’t sleep, I kept having nightmares.”
Five weeks later after offering a £1,000 reward, she received a text saying Gizmo had been found in a park.
She added: “I went to pick him up from these two teenage girls. I nearly collapsed when I saw him, he was so skinny. He was just like a little carcass.
“I rushed him to the vet to put him on a drip.”
She spent hundreds of pounds on vet bills nursing him back to health, but confirmed she did not pay the ‘rescuers’ any reward money.""

- charlie, I don't know about the other Gizmo, but the picture on fb which twoDs linked to is definitely a chihuahua (it is on Bruce Forsyth's vets get scanning petition page) and the story of the theft fits with this Gizmo's story. Hoping the owner will come and confirm and give a reunited picture when they have returned to earth. :)
- 2014-04-03 16:33 charlie
- I'm wandering if this has been confirmed as I've been notified as another dog called gizmo been reunited, but he isn't a chihuahua.????Anyone.

- I was horrified to read about your horrific ordeal. I truly hope Gizmo will be found quickly. I live in Chislehurst, so if you haven't displayed a poster in this area & would like one put up somewhere (supermarket, vet, library perhaps) please let me know. I came across your story yesterday via Twitter because I tweet a lot on missing pet tweets - Will keep sharing. What about putting an article in News Shopper newspaper too? Also do alert all the vets in the area about this incident with the microchip details. Our vet is All Creatures in Windsor Drive in Chelsfield, I need to ring them later today so I'll also ask them to print off your poster as they display missing pet posters too. Thinking & hoping for you and Gizmo xx

- Just so you know I tweeted the Telegraph (they did a article last month on dog napping so I think they would be interested) as well as Newsquest (they have local newspapers / websites in your area ) ...get as much exposure for this little boy. The police will know who is active in the area and have a huge amount of intelligence that can speed up matters. They can also give you some personal support as a victim of crime...keep strong, keep positive ...I feel for you xx
