Have spoken to Max's owner this morning and seems unlikely that found dog Bruno is Max, as they had Max as a puppy. He's going to check with Winchester dog warden to be on the safe side. Keep looking!

csquaredb so did I and we must have been doing it at the same time, how weird is that !!
csquaredb
Have texted Max's owners to check they have seen this.

Think you might be right and have added a comment to Max's page. Looking at Google images, the two breeds are very similar and guess Bruno could have been sold on as the wrong breed and become Max? Fingers crossed.

Could be yes, I have never seen one either so had to look it up too. I am thinking though that the breed would have been recorded on his chip?
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
If he is black and tan, could he be Max Lost ID 64263 a Hellenic hound missing from RG18 25miles away. I had no idea what a N Z Huntaway looked like so googled it, then thought I've seen a lost dog that looks similar.

I have shared on twitter, I hope he is reunited soon, I guess he could have a new name if he has been sold on by chipped owner? Anyway hope it all works out for him.
