- Thanks SerenityPets, I too am somewhat involved with challenging matters..hope your cat is okay.
From what I understand the finder took very good care of her but it is rather worrying that in this day and age of rapid communication that people don't make inquiries, makes you wonder how many other 'missing' have 'new' homes. - 2014-04-10 14:48 SerenityPets
- Been off grid for a bit due to a very sick cat...Glad to hear Breeze is home. Have done a zip round the roads and removed all the posters I put up. Can't believe there are people who would just take a dog like that without even attempting to find out if someone was missing it! Still, at least this one has ended well

- Just had chat with owner and have learned that Breeze was found by someone the day she went missing.. this finder had always wanted a dog like her and so decided to keep her and didn't check with any authority to see if she was listed as missing.
Friend of finder informed her that there was a dog like her missing on posters...and the rest as they say is history.
It's still strange that she travelled that far without her mother..
Anyway, happy ending ...and a HUGE thank you and well done to the friend of the finder. x

- Correction to how Breeze was found....it was via finders friend who checked on doglost. thank you for checking.

- Did detour on way home today and took down my posters so I hope it's true she's home! ?
Tried phoning owner this morning - no reply (it was early), will try again tomorrow because I'd love to know where she was found. - 2014-03-27 06:31 Abe babe
- Oh my, fantastic, wonderful!!!!!
I've only just logged on (father taken into hospital last week and I've been busy taxi-ing mum to and fro).
So happy for Breeze and her family...I shall have great delight in removing her posters from my car windows now!(estates are great for advertising). Come on Bertie from Boxted I still have yours in there...
Well done to all who put up posters, as Helen said, they really do work. And thanks Serenity Pets for helping me when I was a bit pushed. Yay!..I'm so happy.
Is Breeze okay?, where was she found? was she lost or what?...so many questions....
Perhaps I should just ring owner but don't want to be a nuisance. ??Last edited: 2014-03-27 06:52:47 by Abe babe - 2014-03-26 16:49 ClaireC

- 66264 ?...though it says brown, it looks blueish in the photo, but doesn't say gender.
However, having made above comment, I've now looked on West End Farm kennels site and enlarging photo it does look brown...??? - 2014-03-19 17:46 Abe babe
- Thanks Jimi, it's always worth making a comment with sightings etc...better to do it than not. :o)

- We saw a long legged floppy eared dog running along road towards us on Clopton/Tuddenham road this eve. Could have been a lurcher but this is a long way from where Breeze went missing so don't want to mislead you. It looked as if it knew where it was going and was in a hurry. Shame we couldn't catch it but in car and the dog was too quick. This is not much help Im afraid. There are hares here and there were someone's bread rolls further down the road so it may have been feeding on those. Good luck in finding Breeze.

- Suffolk Greyhound and Lurcher Support Group are having a meet and greet at Bury St Edmunds Garden Centre tomorrow (15th march)...this would be a great opportunity to raise awareness of Breeze.
I can drive that way today and will leave posters 'for the attention of' the group.

- Huge thank you Serenity Pets, I don't feel quite so guilty :o/
I'll do Debden/Wickhambrook side tomorrow, I had already put one near Chedburgh bus stop so might put a couple more round and Debden farm shop.

- Posters up around Chevington and a couple Chevington end of Ickworth park along the woodland footpaths.
Not pathetic Abe babe, rural areas are a nightmare on petrol which isn't cheap! I can't get out that way today but will hit Barrow & Gt Saxham tomorrow on the way into Bury. - 2014-03-08 13:21 Abe babe
- Iceni....do you know, what sort of site is(on left) on the Bury side of Wickhambrook just as you leave village on main road A143...lots of caravans tucked right up end of track..it seems to have happened in the last year? (where they sell Xmas wreaths each year)Last edited: 2014-03-08 13:38:12 by Abe babe

- Agree Serenity Pets re other areas... if you can help that would be great, (ashamed to sound pathetic but I'm spending a fortune on petrol...often the case with rural searching/postering).
I'm wonder also about local lorry parks, considering Chevington Rex's strange reappearance. (In Rex's case IMHO it might have proved informative checking CCTV of that day at Woolpit - if they have them)
I've never forgotten or given up on Maisie who also vanished from Chevington and believe she too may have been picked up.Last edited: 2014-03-08 13:35:50 by Abe babe - 2014-03-08 08:25 SerenityPets
- I didn't manage to get out last night, but I'll pop a few more posters up today as I noticed the footpath at the far end of Old Post Office Rd doesn't have a poster, I'll also get one up at the Greyhound.
Apparently she's from the New Road area of the village, backing onto Ickworth park so it might be worth looking at Barrow and possibly Great Saxham area as they're the neighbouring villages on that side of Chevington and definitely worth speaking to the NT staff at IckworthLast edited: 2014-03-08 10:06:30 by SerenityPets - 2014-03-08 07:11 Abe babe
- Is Chevington covered for posters now does anyone know? I'll try and get some out in other areas but it's all so spread out round there it would be helpful for news of where has been postered.
Even if she was taken someone who saw something may be alerted by the posters.
Owners, has this been reported as a crime now? if so her page could be updated as such.Last edited: 2014-03-08 07:14:02 by Abe babe - 2014-03-07 14:49 Abe babe
- I managed a few posters as I whizzed through this morning and spoke to some locals.
The greyhound pub would be a good idea if someone can pop in there.
Serenity Pets, good idea re NT, I meant to mention that to owner.
Iceni, would that pub landlady (when Max was taken) be a good person to inform? - 2014-03-07 11:22 SerenityPets
- Couldn't access my emails yesterday so missed this, but can head out for a bit of searching/postering this evening after work. Do we know roughly where in the village Breeze went missing from? (Gives an idea of which direction to start searching in)
Probably worth getting the owners to ask NT staff at Ickworth to keep an eye out for her if they haven't already done so. - 2014-03-07 10:46 Riverlady

- Had a chat with owners and it's looking very suspicious...
Can we make her too hot to handle please....
The GSD who went missing from same village last week suspiciously traveled 17 miles in a short time so it's very possible thieves are about. - 2014-03-07 09:28 Abe babe
- I'm stretched for time but will try and get posters out....
I'm still on Bertie's (Boxted) case today as couldn't go out to do extra postering yesterday.
Owners, I will try and find time to call you and get more details of location lost and where home is...if that's ok. - 2014-03-06 22:50 Iceni
- As your Breeze is a lurcher, she might well have been stolen for illegal hare coursing purposes. It's the perfect season as hares will be mating and clearly visible as they box each other in the fi4lds.
My sister's lurcher vanished without trace several years ago and the police advised her that hare coursers were probably to blame. If anyone knows where hares are about, it might be worth paying the area a visit - early mornings and dusk is the usual time this practice takes place and look out for parked cars in remote areas down tracks - take down the number of the vehicle and check whether the landowner is aware.
Something to bear in mind.
