I am incredibly sorry. I know no words can help you - its like your heart has been shattered. And it has. Please, please hang in there for Penny - she needs you carry on until it is your turn to go to heaven and be with her again. We each have our paths to follow, but love never dies. Please know that it would have been very quick and without suffering. Penny is now safe in the arms of God until you meet again, this time never to be apart ever again. God bless you, you precious little soul, always. To your family, I pray that one day their hearts will again know peace. You have earnt your little wings, sweetest Penny. xxx

Oh no, how absolutely heartbreaking. Yet another lost to the railways. I am so very sorry, and my thoughts are with the family at this devastating time, but who do now have closure, and able to bring her home, and lay her to rest. Run free at the bridge, beautiful Penny, where my two black labs will be waiting to play xxxx

Thankyou everyone for all the support, it has been endlessly appreciated by our family.
Penny had a wonderful short life surrounded by people who loved her dearly.
Her life was taken by a passing train. She will respectfully be buried at her home.
May she rest in peace.

We've had a surprising amount of people calling to say they've spotted a black labrador without an owner. These areas were:
-Stayton Hall housing estate, Selby
-Flaxley road and hempbridge road, selby
-in the fields at Crosshills road, Great Heck, Goole
-in the fields behind hemingbrough, as well as glimpses in people's gardens at hemingbrough

We have searched all these areas. However the problem with all these sightings is that the collar has not been reported as a strong red, like in the picture. We've had very dark maroon, plum, and even black collars reported. The nearest to penny's description was at Stayton hall, but we've been around there twice and no luck. I've also been told that black labradors are extremely common in Yorkshire, so really i could be chasing any old dog. We've put up some posters, but really we're waiting for a sighting closer to the time, as most of the reports have been hours in advance in which we've seemingly been far to late to the scene. Nobody has managed to catch any of these dogs yet.

Possible SIGHTING of Penny tonight at about 5.30 pm about a mile from where she went missing from.
Images of a black Labrador have been picked up there by CCTV cameras and people are searching the area for her.
Have briefly advised with regard scenting and setting up a feeding station if she isn't caught tonight .
Hoping Penny is back home again very soon x x

We searched for a few hours, but again no sign - not even passersby had seen her this time. I've got posters up but really we're back to square one. I've still got hope though.

Unfortunately the one found in harrogate is not Penny, but thankyou so much.
However, a black female Labrador has been seen running around Howden, a town several miles away from where she went missing but she is very frightened and has run away from 2 people who have tried to get a look at her collar - my dog is very easily scared, and she is probably starving so hopefully this is her. We've searched the town twice with no luck but we're going to look again tomorrow morning. Thankyou everyone for the support, hopes up!
