Been following this all morning. Congratulations to those eagle eyed people who did this for Maisie. Now looking forward VERY MUCH to the news of the arrest and prosecution details. (thinking of he siamese kitten found under a bush, kept and then sold - arrested and prosecuted, and the buyer got their money back!)
Ellie
Amazing news. So pleased. Well done everyone involved. Looking forward to seeing Maisie in the blue!

Sorry for the somewhat garbled email.....I was a little excited :)

Maisie was advertised for sale on Gumtree. The advertisement was crossposted to Cocker Spaniels Needing Homes by Patricia (admin) and she picked up on comments by Dawn Clough and Debby Cunliffe, on "Lost Missing and Found Spaniels Nationwide" about the similarity to Maisie. A member saw the advertisement and decided to respond and travelled over from Devon this morning to buy the dog. In the meantime, another member, who has a Halo, offered to meet up with her and scan the dog. She is microchipped and the lady that scanned was able to call Maisie's owner and confirm that the chip number matched Maisie's.
Maisie is now with the lady that scanned her and is on her way back to that lady's home in readiness for her owners to collect her.

Thanks must go to the lady that bought Maisie from the seller. She is understandably a bit shocked by the whole experience. I look forward to an update when Maisie is reunited.

I hope that this gives hope to those that are still missing their wonderful dogs. There are so many people still looking for lost/stolen pets xxxLast edited: 2015-01-11 17:58:54

Thaks Angus, Also glad to see plenty of posters up in the Mere area. Maintaining and raising awareness all the time. Keep up the good work everyone - we need to ensure she is too hot to handle and the Countryman's Weekly is one of the ways to do that.
Spindle
Hopefully Countrymans Weekly will lead to calls re Maisie. She should be at home with her family.
Wonderous
Such a cute little girl, she should be home with her mum and dad. So upsetting to hear about so many little friends being taken. Indeed tougher penalties it has to be to stop this. I do so hope she is home soon.
DogLostAngus
Featured in todays Countrymans Weekly Magazine - I hope it brings some news
BBKM
So sad Maisie is still missing. Hope she will be found soon and back home safe with her family x

We really need severe/harsh punishments to be given to dog/pet thieves!

Please can anyone going to the Westcountry Game Fare at Shepton Mallet this weekend go armed with posters.
Spindle
Another article in today blackmore vale, saying how still missing. Come on we need this girl home.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Nominated for Countryman's Weekly hopefully will go in there in the coming weeks. As Easter is approaching would be a good time to go out and check the posters are all OK and visible. Also, get over to Stourhead and talk to the volunteers at the weekend as people come from far and wide to visit Stourhead.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Thank you all for the support and advice you are giving to Maisie's owner, it is good to see that the word is spreading far and wide. She cannot stay hidden forever. I would be cautious of any organisation which charges for the same service as we provide with no guaranteed result though. It is such a difficult decision to make.
Spindle
Thank you Seeks will suggest to owner.
Seeks
Spindle she is so like our Pup it means I have been tweeting and sharing her poster every where regularly. Please see if the owners know about S&S in my last post.

Our girl was swallowed by the ether.... I really don't want it to get Maisie too. Hang in there and pass on my hopes and a hug to the owners as I so know how they feel x
Spindle
Maisie is now on Wiltshire police page, horsewatch and farmwatch facebook pages.
Spindle
Maisies owner are working tirelessly to find her. Publicity is high on this dog, lots of posters up in all sorts of areas. If you are in the south west and can print her poster off, please do so. In fact any area would be good. May also be great idea to put in your cars. Young family are desperate to get their dog home where she should be.
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Featured in the BVM today - hope it brings some news - but please keep a look out for Maisie wherever you are as she could be anywhere.

Good Luck. Wishing Maisie home.

I don't know how you feel about this but we recently contacted Stole and Strays pet recovery org, they have been great but did say it would have been easier f we had done it sooner.

I so hope you will have this beautiful girl home x

Thanks Lilybear.
Thanks Aud40 - but Stourton is very small just a few houses, a pub and a National Trust Property, even nearest town is quite small. Good idea about the radio though and owner might like to consider that idea. Anything you can do is great as she could be ANYWHERE?

Sorry to hear that your dog Maisie has been stolen, have you thought of contacting the local radio they will normally announce on air her details ,we have used them in our area and got good leads from doing so.If there are any shops supermarkets around the area ask them if they will let you put posters in their windows. I will put Maisie poster on my Facebook and all doggy sites that I am a member off.I am sorry I can't do any thing else to help as being so far from you but will keep looking on line for Maisie .Do hope you soon get some news.x x

So sorry to read of Maisie's theft. Please try and get posters up at Stourhead and leave a message for Georgie in the office for Monday morning to let all estate workers know. There is a chance they might have seen something suspicious or if Maisie tries to make her way home they can keep a look out for her.
Spindle
If anyone is near this area please can you poster. Owners would like some assistance in this. Given some advice to them.
