We have found our dog!
So many thanks to Sam who found her on the chevin tangled up in barbed wire in deep undergrowth far from any path. We had to use wire cutters to free her and then carry her half way up the chevin to the car and straight to the vet. She appears to have been lucky and the barbs had gone between the bones in her lower back leg, causing only soft tissue damage, however having her leg stuck for 8 hours at a peculiar angle for this time has strained her leg. She will now hopefully recover ok.
We searched as much of the chevin (and Danefield) as we could for 6 hours without any success, but luckily Sam decided to take her dogs where there were no paths and found her. Both Rebecca and I had searched that area, probably within 100m of where she was.
We would both like to say a big thank you to Sam and her dogs, as well as everybody who has shared my post on FB and sent messages of help. We are very moved by the huge response from everybody.
