You sound so happy to have your dog back, how lucky you were that the Vets and his new owners did the right int. The poor owner of Tobias is probably going through hell right now because another vets and Tobias new owners did not.....http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=103284#.WFzgA-vfWrU I suspect there may be much going on behind the scenes with this one....Last edited: 2016-12-23 08:33:57 by Skywalker99

Dazandcharlie81.. As your daughter is understandably still devastated, poerhaps she can choose a dog from a rescue centre; maybe the sane breed It wont be Puggy i know but it will help heal her heartbreak for you alll. including your other dogs. Thus you will be giving a rescue dog the home it is looking for. Take careLast edited: 2016-12-04 21:24:01
Dazandcharlie81
Right just to put a line under this, Puggy is back where he belongs and we are all happy if he is happy. We are glad to have played a part in his reunion and wish him the best with his humans. Love you little man xx
wensmum
I think the prayer of all of us with long-term missing dogs is that they eventually arrive with someone like Dazandcharlie who have the heart and courage to contact us and let them come home, even though they hurt themselves in doing it; you heal those with the missing ones.
Thank you all, for giving us hope.......
wensmum
I think all you folk are amazing. My lass has been missing over 5 years. There is honestly nothing worse - missing never heals. But I have also taken in rescues, and lived in fear and trembling until they have been scanned and proved to be unchipped (my vets understand how paranoid I am and scan with 4 different vets with 5 different scanners), because the second worst thing would be having a dog you saved and made whole after a bad experience be found to belong to someone else.
You must all feel totally flayed by your experiences.
puggy
THANK GOD FOR DOGLOST IM STILL SHOCKED
puggy
If anyone buying a dog pls ask owner if ok too take local vet for quick chip scan
WILL SAVE LOTS OF MISSERY
puggy
I would firstly like too say MY dog is called puggy and my last 2 Xmas were no good as I lost one of my baby's, 2 year nine month of stress and updating sites,
I would like too say I only got my dog back due too dog lost as it was there scanner which returned her too me, I was advised that the dog was in the same vet in last 3 month but failed too scan chip ? Also told that since was stolen also been too other vets chip NOT SCANNED, I don't no why people falling out,
THANK YOU DOG LOST
Dazandcharlie81
Thank you for your kind words, I'm sorry if I was short yesterday, the emotions were and still are raw. We are all absolutely devestated and feel like we are grieving, our other two dogs are also really hurting as they have lost a member of their small pack and don't understand.
My daughter is still inconsolable and I can't seem to placate her, this has truely ruined Christmas for her and us...what are we to do? Always an innocent party
Belle
Dazandcharlie81. You are good people. What a horrible thing to happen to everyone involved because of greedy thieves. Best wishes to your family.
Unknown
Dazandcharlie81. I do know how you must be feeling 100%
When i was not much older than your daughter, we had to rehome the family dog for family illness etc. We had him from a puppy (Not stolen) for TWO YEARS. So the pain of having to part wth him was devastating for the whole family. We had some photos of him at the time, which I still have. And would never part with them . He would be long at the bridge now. In time the pain will lessen, even though you will never forget him. Perhaps you could adopt another dog from a rescue centre. I know it wont be Doug but will help ease your heartache If anyone is to blame here it is the theif that took Puggy in the first place. These people cause so much heartbreak to dog owners. They are just out to make a "Quick buck" (((((HUGS))))) to you, and your familyLast edited: 2016-12-04 17:39:16

MillysMum: I've just read your post twice and I really don't think it is at all patronising. I think poor Dazandcharlie81 is/are feeling very fragile, poor things. It must be a very painful time for them (as you have recognised in your post).
DogLostNina
Millys Mum ...I to will join in in saying doglost needs you and the valuable work you do. The reason that Puggy went missing is one of the reasons why doglost needs all of its helpers to combat the wrong doings we all know about. Puggy welcome home.Last edited: 2016-12-04 10:36:52 by Nina
BUBBLES
Millys mum, last thing this site needs is a DL coordinator and helper giving up on something she is so good at. Misunderstandings are rife but that is all they are. xx
Turtle
Dazandcharlie81, so sorry that you too have suffered from this horrendous crime.
Millys Mum
Oh dear - you have COMPLETELY misunderstood me and my post. As I don't know you, I couldn't be more specific (obviously couldn't have guessed that you had given homes to rescue dogs in the past). I was just trying to be helpful and supportive from afar. I've been a DL coordinator and Helper for many years and so I suppose it might be best if I don't post again on the site lest my message is taken as being patronising.
Heth
Not going to patronise you, but you are amazing people with a massive heart to get this lovely boy home to his family.😇😇
Heth

Dazandcharlie81
We had him scanned the day after we bought him during his health check to check for this exact situation and nothing was raised which is upsetting as we could have brought him back to you sooner and saved us a bit of heartache ( nothing compared to yours ) . I'm so glad he is back with you and to have assisted in his return however convoluted it may have been. For anyone who may like to throw their pennies woCan you turn the rice down to 6 please xxrth in on adoption, we are fully conversant in adoption and have rehomed a few times so don't really need patronising during this hard time. We are actually puggys 2nd owner since his unfortunate taking and despite a massive emotional impact during this short time, I think we have behaved entirely rational and understanding. I don't think it can be underestimated how in love we are with doug and a massive hole is left.
I join in everybody's happiness that he has been reunited with his original family but please do not patronise during this time xxxx
Esther
Well said Millys mum. It is so brilliant that Puggy is home he must have been through so much as has all the humans involved. There are so many beautiful dogs in rescue that so deserve a good home and by taking one of these into your home you also help in there being a space for another dog to be rescued.
puggy
Drop me a txt if like Dazandcharlie81

How sad for you to lose the new loved member of your family; we do quickly bond with our pets, and they with us. It must have seemed nothing short of a miracle and so overwhelming for his owner to be told his little dog had been found after all this time.
puggy
Also big thanx too the vets 😀
Millys Mum
Although it was obviously good news that Puggy has been reunited with his original owner, I, like many others on this site really feel for you and, especially your daughter who must be so sad after loosing her furry friend. Of course we don't know how you became Puggy's new family, but hope that you can find another dog from a registered dog rescue, or even contact pug or small dog rescue kennels. But please don't buy pets online or via Gumtree, Preloved, Pets4Home, etc as many dogs advertised on these sites have been stolen. You should have some really good rescue centres in your area (I expect others on DogLost may be able to assist in locating a reputable kennel). And yes, you are right when you say that the horrible thieves that steal dogs (and cats) couldn't care less about the grief and upset they cause. Good Luck in finding a truly homeless dog who is hoping to find a new and loving family like you.
puggy
Thank you very much the dog remembered me after nearly 3 years
I feel REALY down for you too lose him but I've hunted for nearly 3 years
Thanks sgain
DogLostOwl
What a lovely thoughtful message. Thank you. I am sure that all of us at Doglost wish you and your family the very best for the future.
Dazandcharlie81
Hi there, we have been the loving owners to puggy (doug to us) for 2 months and although we are absolutely devastated, most of all my 12 year old daughter to have lost doug in such swift and hurtful circumstances, we are happy to see him reunited with his original family.
I think it is lost on people how these horrible thieves not only reek havoc on the pooches themselves and their humans but the families that follow on from these actions. Although we are pragmatic and can see the bigger picture, we are suffering in a totally different light and have to move on.
We love you with all our hearts doug (puggy) and wish you the very best xxxxx

Oh, wow, what a lovely reunited photo. Just look at Puggy's body language, his happy expression and those 'slick backed' back ears relaxed ears. Just so very happy for Maurice and Puggy. We've had a good number of 'long-termers' being reunited and so long may it continue. But finally, welcome home Puggy and please stay close and safe.

Reunited!
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Owner on his way....great joy for him...sad for the recent owner who had bought the dog in good faith and contacted the vets since my first post....Thankfully owner and new owner are talking to each other....this is what dog thieves do...not just one victim but sadly when sold on....two victims....No judgement needed here....Lets hope for a good outcome for both...and especially for Puggy...who will probably be one confused little dog...

still no news of my much missed puggy,
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Dear Puggy....you must never give up, we will never give up and look regularly on sites looking for what are very distinguished forehead marks..someone will slip up, have to walk him, take him to the vets.....you must make sure you poster far and wide from vets, pet shops, pet groomers, social venues, shops, post offices, websites, local papers and ask the police to appeal via their Twitter/ website site, especially as this was a burglary it is in the publics interest to find the criminals....keep going ....we will make him hot and it will happen....and so will you ...put on your fighting spirit and don't let these heartless thieves ever win the day...we need you strong...big hug xx
charlie
Don't ever give up puggy. On here there's so many people that cross check dog's to try and get them reunited. Get him on all the missing pet sites too. Keep him to hot.

DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
Does Puggy have any marks on either side of his head?.....I have noticed that a number of pug photos are taken from the side so you cannot see their top forehead and as you know.every forehead pattern is unique and the absolute giveaway. http://www.friday-ad.co.uk/rochdale/pets/dogs-and-puppies-for-sale/pug/pets-age-KV0421139 x

bad day today stressed with it all I think I will never know if the siteing on the net was puggy. I still think the person selling the dog is need of police investigating as offered me a girl for 1000, he ties dogs up and puts in sheds, this cant be a dog lover and who would sell a pug for 250
puggy
reward now £1000 as im selling some un needed things too up reward, it may bring something out, a nabour or a friend somewhere knows where my puggy is. I would like everyone too know that the £1000 will be given no questions asked for the return, the cash is already to be given. you can go buy a legal dog with papers and still have change. I would like to say thanx again to everyone for help
DogLostSherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
I think best to advise the police of your findings/concerns as they will be able to investigate what you have as well as history records on gumtree. It is a well know fact that criminals use gumtree to sell stolen goods so they will be well aware of the procedures. We are all still looking for your baby. If they have sold on, make sure vets in the area know about your boy....at some point they will need to take him to a vet and may not even know they have stolen goods! keep us all updated x
puggy
lots of messages today from different people ads on gumtree prloved and facebook about a pug boy, the prices changed £650, £400 £250 ?????????????? I rang and he says dog sold buttoffered a girl, is this man selling stiolen dogs, was this my much loved and missed puggy he has sold ? I have photos of him copy of his adds too what do I do
