Dylan was finally trapped (third time lucky) in a reinforced cage. Beware trappers - dog warden's cages aren't always up to it. So many thanks to all who helped / encouraged / advised, especially to Poppy and most especially to Gerry, Colin & Stephen. Without their feeding and concern Dylan would not be with us
Esther
BRILLIANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So pleased. Made my day. What wonderful news

Esther
How is it going Mark
Esther
Fingers crossed it will be soon
allimac
That sounds encouraging. Glad he is eating, and that you are seeing him, which must be so pleasing after this long wait. Come on Dylan, time to go home!
MarkFoster
What a brave boy. Last night he ate his tea from bowl outside cage, then hoovered up biscuits / sausage in cage. He even took an old sock of mine away for a keepsake. Maybe sooner than we thought for a second chance of trapping him.
Kinsally
Oh Dylan please trust them they are trying so hard to help you sweetheart xx
allimac
oh my! How frustrating/ heart-breaking!!!
Well done for your long persistence, and everything crossed for you.
MarkFoster
Managed to trap Dylan on Sunday night / Monday morning. However, before we could get him out safely he broke free. Wiggled head between side of cage and door, which he pulled back into cage and ran off. Heart-breaking. Obviously in shock, he didn't eat on Monday night and we thought we had lost him again, but he came back last night and ate his tea. Now we have to start over again, but we will get him back I'm sure.Last edited: 2014-04-02 11:27:49 by MarkFoster
Esther
How is it going now ?
allimac
Hope he is caught soon, and a happy reunion follows.
BBKM
Keep up the brilliant work you are all doing... I am sure it won't be too long before he is in the trap and back home safe with you. Good luck x Sausages and sardines are irresistible, try doing a fishy trail to the trap from where he was last seen ;-) :-)

Come on lovely Dylan - time to go home xxx

At least he smelt the sausages, so is likely to come back to try again

Tx for update Mark.

Dylan is being regularly fed. I have been down with Dylan's best friend Jude to spread our scent around. He was very interested in sausages in dog trap last night - but unfortunately the wind had shut the trap before he got there. It may take some time but I am cautiously optimistic that he will be caught and come home.
Kinsally
Keep checking for any news on this poor boy, come on Dylan you need to come home now sweetheart for lots of tlc xxx
Esther

Dylans owner has been out and seen the dog and it is DYLAN! very nervous dog but owner has his other dog with him and local dogwarden is bringing over a dogtrap...may we request as the dog is now being fed that people keep away from the area so as not too frighten Dylan away..tx
Esther
Everything crossed

Yes finders have set up a feeding station...and have just emailed to say its a dog...so obviously coming forward a bit more....
Kinsally
This poor dog looks pitifully thin, is anyone in the area trying to set up a feeding station & trying catch him/her? It's very sad that this dog looks like it's been straying for a long time :( I hope someone can give it some food x
