In all honesty I don't know - I could never get to speak to Alison to clarify and my partner had a voice mail left with the info as below. Many people donated to Binfield for their kindness and that money will be put towards neutering and vaccinating their rescue dogs. They stepped up to support Bruno as well but he got rehomed at the last minute.
Hudsondog1
Thank you Bo. I'll contact my friend and let him know. Does this mean there was never actually a forever home offered? Pauline
Bo
Pauline - My partner had a voice mail left by Alison the DW today and she said he'd gone to a foster home at the last moment as he was very stressed and she had a last minute offer. You can try to contact her on the number as above and if she's not there the staff will give you her email address. Binfield offered Bruno the lurcher a spot today if he needs it because of the kindness of donations towards BJ.

Thank you Bo. I'll wait to hear. Pauline
Bo
I've tried to speak to Alison for a few days and emailed her but I know she's really busy so no reply yet. The info I had was from Binfield rescue directly. I will update as soon as I have spoken to her directly and update you ASAP Hudsondog. It was Binfield who said Alison had said that he was rehomed.
Hudsondog1
Is Blackjack's new home a definite? I have just had a call from someone who would have been interested if he was still available.
allimac
oh my he has a home!!!! Yippee. Will still send my donation to Binfield (envelope still sitting on my desk due to craziness happening here over the last 5 days). But am so pleased for this lovely boy. Please have a lovely, fabulous life! And if the new owner felt like sending us a photo....
:)

Bo
I heard from the rescue today (via email) that just before he was due to arrive on Friday (delayed from Thursday as Alison was dealing with a dangerous breed situation) Alison said Blackjack had found a home! Fabulous news. I shall try and speak to Alison tomorrow for details. Binfield are very grateful for their donations and I said next time we have a PTS case, I shall be straight on the phone to them.
Hudsondog1
Sorry Gilly. Smart and O'Connor are hudsondog1. Thanks to all who worked so hard for this lovely boy. Pauline

We got our Saluki X from Binfield Dog rescue back in the 70's, last time I went a couple of years back, they had quite a few Staffies then so pleased he is sorted.
Bo
Pleasure Alli - sorry to hear about your dog passing to the bridge as a youngster.
Max - yes that's the one - details here http://binfield.dogrescues.org/Last edited: 2014-03-31 17:42:51 by Bo

brilliant, thanks. Oh I am so pleased, absolutely bawling my eyes out. He really reminds me of my previous dog, who died too young.
Will check through and find email when can see straight again. :)
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
I want to make sure I get the right place so I can donate directly to them.
Is it Binfield dog rescue on Maidenhead road? I won't put on full details, just in case it is the wrong one & people skip read!!
Bo
Allimac - The DW at Swindon is a huge dog lover. When these dogs come in she starts straight away trying to secure places for them as she knows they will be an issue to save if they aren't reclaimed. She's worked on getting Blackjack a space since he came into their care about 10 days ago and is absolutely fully supportive of Binfield's kind offer if the foster home isn't available. She is even going to drive him there herself. Thank you ref your kind offer towards a donation. If he goes there then I will let you all know tomorrow and you can donate directly to them or via GillyP as below. Thanks again. X
allimac
Oh I am SO HAPPY I could scream! FANTASTIC. Just logged on to say I had another "no" only to see this BRILLIANT news.
I take it the dog warden has been notified and has agreed? I am also happy to make a donation - how - where - who to? Direct to Binfield or what??
Bo
Either fine Max. If straight to them then probably worth annotating the donation to say towards Blackjacks rescue space so they know. That's kind of you - thank you x
surbgirl31
You're most welcome. My friend gets involved in a lot of dog rescue stuff and has appropriate transport since she has lots of dogs of her own! Glad all sorted for dear Jack; I'm so thankful. Good luck. Best wishes, Petra.
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
What absolutely fantastic news, just logged on after having m-i-l round for a delayed Mothers day lunch, & trying to chase up rescues, can't believe it! SO HAPPY.
Will the donation go straight to Binfield or GillyP?
Bo
Ok - update and its all good, no make that AMAZING news. The lovely DW from Swindon ( Alison ) may have a foster space for Blackjack and will know in the morning. If not then she will take Blackjack to Brian at Binfield herself - I will update tomorrow when I know which option its going to be and just to say a big thank you to all that helped. Terrier lady - I said to Gilly to email you with whats occurring and let you know if the donation was still needed if he goes to Binfield - thank you for your generosity - bit overwhelmed with all of todays events. Xx
Surbgirl31 a that was a really kind offer ref transport - Alison is happy to transport him but really appreciate the backup option you mentioned. XLast edited: 2014-03-31 17:14:40 by Bo

I cannot believe the e mail I have received from Terrierlady. You are an amazing lady and more than generous. Thank you. PS Bo is crying!!Last edited: 2014-03-31 16:00:22
Bo
Thanks Terrierlady - when I rang Brian who runs the rescue I was like "blah blah blah" expecting the usual answer and he said "yes no problem I will take him", I was silent for 10 seconds... "Er, pardon?" Brain says - "yes no problem just email the address on the website and say I have approved him and get him to us".... Me "REALLY!!!".... Bo then dissolves into emotional state of messy disbelief.....
GillyP - donation inbound from me as I type. I have rung Alison as above and waiting for her to call me back now. GillyP is collecting funds - her email

Just been asked to post by Bo that Binfield have accepted him, but we need transportation and funding. They are based in Berkshire. We have told them we would raise £300 to support him. They said he could have space for however long it takes. Is anyone able to collect monies. I have the Puhi fund.

Just been told about this Senior Staffie Club

I've got him a space with Binfield rescue. We need to raise some funds and also get him there. Brian who runs the rescue accepted him and just need to sort admin now. Tried to call Alison but not in xx
Unknown
Can someone give Epsom Canine Rescue a call. We could offer to pay boarding for hinm if we have enough cash. They were full but worth a go. Cant do it myself as at work and got meetings :-(
Shelagh
Added all blue crosses to list, don't know if done already
Ollie's Mum
If a emergency foster home was found would any rescue be able to offer backup in case of any problems.
Shelagh
I have emailed teckels, sadly they have one the same as blackjack who needs a home so can't help this time
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Terrierlady, sadly, I think to try & trace the owners thru' police will be impossible. One has to have either a surname or crime ref number to access any database. I know it is Greater Manchester police who cover this area So unless we have a surname on admin here it will be virtually impossible to trace owner.
Edited to say also the crime records will now probably be on microfishe (if that still exists!)
Bo
Great ideas by everyone - if possible can you contact them directly as although I'm happy to do as many as possible, I'm at work and people are starting to think I'm a bit weird as running off to the loo with my iPad in hand every 30 minutes. XLast edited: 2014-03-31 14:21:12 by Bo

Message for Bo who is doing a great job.

animallifelineuk.org has been missed off the list

Has this boy earned a few days grace or is he still at risk on Thursday?

Don’t suppose it’s worth asking Battersea DH?
terrierlady
Has the dog warden been contacted by any of the rescues below - Thinking if any of the rescues with a waiting list could take him it maybe time to set up a fund to place him in private kennels until he has a space - i am willing to give a substantial donation but not experienced with anything like this so wouldnt be able to set it up. Other contacts of mine have also promised donations
terrierlady
Mobile number does not appear to be live either - have sent text asking to contact me urgently but dont hold out much hope - not my area so wondering if anyone could contact the dog warden /police covering this area just to see if theft was registered and there could be a name at least

I emailed Cane Corso as below last night and waiting for a reply. In liaison with Shelagh, i emailed Stokenchurchdogrescue rescue just now. If folk could pro actively contact their local rescues then we can cover more options. Rather 10 requests arrive than non at all - That would be much appreciated.
I've contacted sbtreacue - no reply, Charleynathan - lovely reply but they've got too many in with 17 waiting for a place so cannot help, blue cross - no reply. Carla Lane - too many staffy cross already with Liverpool pound dogs due PTS needing their help. Last edited: 2014-03-30 07:46:32 by Bo

I am willing to donate also - Just a thought could one of the rescues in another part of the country take him and any funds promised could pay for his transport - maybe try the following http://www.adoptadognortheast.co.uk, http://www.threecountiesdogrescue.org
http://www.bulliesinneed
and if he is cane corso x they have a rescue and website http://www.canecorsoukmolosserrescue.com
His story needs to be publicised as far across the country as possible - could someone put on Durham Dog Theft Awareness FB page as i dont do facebook - they are good at raising publicity for dogs needing homes in the NE and would likely put his dogs lost poster up.Last edited: 2014-03-29 22:17:02 by terrierlady

Also added to safe and sound and dogs watch. Hope they will take him
Shelagh
Have sent his details to mastiff rescue and giant breed rescue. This was suggested by dog warden as she felt a lot of staffie rescues would be put off by his size. Apparently he is a big boy strong and playful
DogLostMax - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
Have sent details to a friend on FB who is 'sharing' him around, hopefully there will be some positive results.
I too am willing to donate if we can find him kennels.
Clare
I will contribute as well. Fingers crossed someone can give him a loving home. He cant be PTS.
Unknown
Me too. Paws xd.
allimac
I am also up for contributing to his board. Don't know what sort of amount is needed to help him get a space? I can't bear the thought of him just being put to "sleep". SO hope a rescue space can be found. Wish I could take on another large dog!
Unknown
Me too. Just like my Memphis x
Bo
Great thanks Shelagh - I am happy to pay towards boarding as required.
Shelagh
Yes the warden was very nice she said she trying hard to get him a home. Said if a rescue was promised she will negotiate a couple of extra days. I will go the route of mastiff rescue due to his size. He is OK there for a few days so we still have time
Bo
I've sent his details to Woodside RSPCA centre and offered £100 towards his care if they will offer him a rescue space.
Bo
If its kennels paid for then keeping him near to Swindon in kennels would be easier to coordinate in order to buy some time - Swindon seem to care about their stray dogs in danger of PTS.
Chris63
Westendfarm kennels in Suffolk seem to have a lot of Staffies for rehoming, maybe they can help. X
Chris63
Could we not buy this lovely boy some time by paying for him in Crystalvale kennels? I am willing to donate. X
Bo
Shelagh - Gilly emailed Graham directly this morning about BlackJack and Sassy.
They aren't a rescue themselves but have some rescue dogs there via rescue agencies. He's not replied and I think the beat way forward to ask would be through pro dog (as you mentioned) or one of the others. They did us a huge favour with Puhi but we are paying for him on a rescue basis.
Shelagh
Crystal vale kennels not accept e-mail. They gave me a number for pro dogs. The person was actually quite rude. I do not have a number for graham and am hoping somebody who is in contact with him could mention blackjack
Shelagh
Have emailed them waiting for replies. He has until next Thursday. I am going to try the mastiff rescues as dog warden said he is very big and boisterous.

Have you tried Rescue Remedies? They are good at homing staffies.

Would call myself but these are the rescues Graham works with. Graham is the owner of Crystalvale kennels where Puhi is staying. Cant call from work but Graham might be worth a try or these on his page. Jsut hope Blackjack is saved. http://www.crystalvalekennels.co.uk/rescue_dogs.htm

What about the Dogs Trust? Maybe they could help with a rescue space? I don't know any of them, but they do say they never put a healthy dog down? It is horrible how many beautiful, lovely, loving dogs are never claimed. I can't believe it.

NNOOOO. No, they can't do that!! Shared him, but, oh my, they can't just let him die! :(Last edited: 2014-03-27 20:39:20 by allimac

Copied from email sent in to admin.

3974 - "Jack" is a NEUTERED male, staff x bull mastiff (x pony...). He is a big gentle dopey dog, very friendly with people and been good towards other dogs too. He is a fairly bouncy boy and strong on the lead but with no malice in him at all, just wags continuously and loves fuss and attention. Jack has been checked by the police and considered to NOT be of type. He is out of time and will be PTS next week if a rescue space cannot be found.
allimac
how was he found?
allimac
he is lovely.

Yes he is brindle all over. Must be some confusion due to his name :)
