- Just had this email fm Wilson's owner who is moving house at the moment..it's so encouraging when we get thanks like this! Also good to have someone join us after such an experience!
>>> We are so relieved to have Wilson back at home. Our dogs are treated like our little girl so we were all distraught including our daughter who at 18 months is completely obsessed with Wilson. She calls him 'sons'!!
The man that found Wilson was foreign so didn't take him to get his microchip checked unfortunately as the while thing would have been a lot quicker. He was a lovely man who refused to accept the reward that we had offered, and wouldn't even let us pay him for what it had cost him to feed Wilson for 3 days. It really does restore your faith in humanity.
Can I just say what a wonderful job you all do! Dog lost is a wonderful website. Springermad - was indeed helping and her relations. The offers of help was overwhelming! I had phone calls from people in Yalding, Tunbridge wells and even further offering to come and help. With out Doglost I don't think word would have spread so quickly.
I would like to offer to help when other people in the area lose their dogs.
One again, I can not express how much your and everyone else's help really did encourage me to stay positive when at day 3 I was beginning to think he wasn't coming home!! - 2014-03-22 12:58 lesleyjane

- Oh what a lovely surprise to see this page in blue when I got home from work! Am so very relieved for you Victoria .. I'm so glad that all your hard work postering paid off!
How kind of the lorry driver to take care of him and equally lovely that Wilson enjoyed his holiday by the sea!
I would also like to say a very big thank you to the many people who went out and helped search and poster for Wilson.. I know there were quite a lot of you.

No more holidays without your mum's permission now Wilson! - 2014-03-21 10:07 Victoria85
- Wilson has been found!!!
Thank you everyone for your help, I'm over the moon to be getting my boy back.
He was picked up by a lorry driver on Tuesday morning and he took him back to his house in Eastbourne to look after him. He saw my poster when he was doing his deliveries in mayfield at 5am this morning and called me straight away!
So by all accounts Wilson has had a lovely holiday by the sea side and has made a new friend in the form of a beautiful long haired German shepherd.
Thank you all so very much. - 2014-03-21 09:33 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex

- Have just checked animalwarden site again. The one listed as found in Mayfield TN20 is still saying a male but listed under 'retriever'. There is one listed as 'labrador' female found in Uckfield TN22. May be worth another call to them from owner incase they only looked at records for 'labrador' when she called them and therefore it only showed as the found female?

- So sorry to hear about the loss of your oldie. Now with Wilson going walkabout it must be very distressing.
You have done brilliantly today with all the postering and leaflet dropping. I really hope you get a sighting of your boy soon. Hopefully he'll be home very shortly. I am working over the weekend but If he is still missing after the weekend, I'll come over to help. Fingers crossed he will be back home well before then x - 2014-03-20 18:59 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- Thanks for commenting Victoria.
I have got your email and first of all I would just like to say how sorry I was to hear that you have just lost your oldie. I really feel for you and we will do all we can to get Wilson home.
I am just going to add some of the info for our helpers to see.
"Wilson went missing from Love Lane, Mayfield at 10:30pm on Tuesday night. We have had to very recently 2 weeks ago have our 11 year old Labrador put to sleep. She was all he had ever known and had been down in the dumps and a little off since she's been gone. I have put up posters and between my self and my friends we hve managed to leaflet drop nearly the entire village"
Sounds as though you are doing absolutely everything that you can to find Wilson. Dogs will usually come back to the place that they went missing from so I'm hoping he will be home with you very soon.

- Thank you to everyone who is helping to search for Wilson. He is still not home. I have been leafleting and putting posters up all day. As of yet not one sighting. So the last time he was seen was at 10:30pm on Tuesday evening. He escaped from our garden - something he has never done before.

- Thanks Springermad .. The dog found at the Rose and Crown was apparently last week or before .. so not Wilson, but they are aware of Wilson and have his poster.
I have sent email advice and asked Wilson's owner to contact me when she is able to.Last edited: 2014-03-20 16:45:58 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2014-03-20 16:32 SpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
- Clarkey, just heard from my family in Mayfield that the animal wardens one is in fact a female, although clearly listed as male on their site. There has been alot of searching today. Will update when I hear some more.

- Unfortunately Wilson has not been found yet. I am trying to find out a little more about how and exactly where he went missing. I understand that there was a dog found at the Rose and Crown in Mayfield but I am not sure whether that is the one that was on the animalwardens site.
If there is anyone in the area who would be able to help search or put posters up it would be most appreciated.
Wilson's owner is out postering at the moment.Last edited: 2014-03-20 16:11:49 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2014-03-20 11:56 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
