- Very confusing as there now appears to have been 2 different dogs sighted in the Bruton area. 3-4 weeks ago one very similar to Duke was seen in a garden, the most recent appears to be a different dog, possibly ID 71125. I am bumping Duke's page in the hope that there will be more sightings.

- A similar dog has been reported as a stray ( not yet caught) living rough for a month between Batcombe and Bruton. I am trying to find out more, there is a post about him on a Mendip Facebook group but do not have the link yet.

- What a shame. Let's hope Duke turns up soon. And let's hope the microchip on the found lab helps to get him home.

- Thanks Maggie, Ive only just got in, I texted owner earlier but sadly the microchip of the found lab showed it wasn't Duke.

- I was at Croome & caught the dog. He didn't have a collar at that time. If he had one later someone at Croome must have put it on. The manager at Croome took responsibility for the dog, I know he has dogs himself & maybe he had a spare collar with him. Hopefully the dog warden will scan & the owner will check regardless - we all know microchips can be missed or move.

- Owner has just rung me. He escaped out of garden. There have been some sightings, the last one was Thursday at Kemerton church . I will email advice sheets. owner has been postering the area .Re the dog at Croome, he has a different colour collar, but Ive told her , this is not a reason not to see the dog, as he may have been taken in , collar changed and possibly escaped

- There was a yellow Lab running loose at Croome Court yesterday. We caught the dog (not difficult - he was very friendly). The manager at Croome took charge of the dog. I've checked with Croome today and they apparently handed him to the dog warden. I've contacted the owner & given her the details. Don't know whether she will get hold of anyone today, but fingers crossed this is Duke. What a pity I didn't know about him yesterday, but he was only added last night.
Kemerton is a few miles away but a healthy lab wouldn't have any problem with distance. Let's hope it's Duke. - 2014-03-23 07:24 Mollychops
- I will contact owner
