- Max, it happens all the time by mistake. Sometimes when people are using ipads etc they catch the report this button by mistake. It has happened to me and I am sure you did not say anything wrong at all.

- I am sure you have but just in case you have not - have you reported to Battersea Lost Dogs line? This was how my friend got his dog back. The owners might have reported him missing to them. 020 7627 9245 Open seven days a week 8am to 8pm.
I have also shared on twitter, I hope he is reunited soon.

Please ensure that you notify your local Dog Warden and the local Police Station - in Scotland you MUST inform your local Police Station and if possible contact the Dog Warden also.
The found dog may have a Microchip or a Tattoo - please have the dog scanned and checked for a tattoo at a vet's so that owners may be contacted as soon as possible.
