an up to date microchip made this happy ending possible. please please would all dog owners make sure their dogs have up to date chips. an id tag on collar of course can be removed but only by thieves.......... the rest of us finding a dog could look at id tag and ring immediately

Buster was found in Liverpool - very well looked after ... whoever had him may not know he was missing .... need to keep a look out for any missing posts so they can at least be made aware that he is safe and the circumstances x

There is a SBT in at Wirral dog kennels chipped to Buster but not sure colour is described the same. Worth looking at the photo though.

FOUND IN CROSBY, has been hit by a car and taken to the vets. This boy has white on his toes which i cannot see on Buster and also NO chip was found when scanned but posting here for confirmation from Buster's owners.

Family have visited LDCH today and checked the kennels and BUSTER is not there. There was a FOUND in the kennels which helpers were alerting to and it has been confirmed it is not BUSTER.

Great to see media coverage in this weeks St Helen's Star. There has been a very good success rate of dogs being found when they have been in the Star.

Family have also posted on fb re a POSSIBLE SIGHTING today (12.4.14). I've updated details and photo/s to show up on his poster (you may need to refresh the page).

A £500 reward is being offered for the return of a family’s much-loved pet.

Haresfinch groundworker and father-of-two xxxx xxxxx has covered countless miles in his unceasing quest to find Buster, the family’s six year-old Staffordshire bull terrier.

Taking time to search for Buster cost xxxx his job and his quest resulted in him finding another bull terrier in the Carr Mill area which he reunited with its owner at Moss Bank.

His mum, xxxxx, from Billinge told the Star: "Buster is a lovely dog and my grandsons xxxxx, who is five, and four year-old xxxxxxx, think the world of him. xxxxxxx says Buster is his ‘best friend’.

"He became lost a fortnight ago when xxxx took him for a late evening walk around Carr Mill Dam. The whole family is pining for him.”

The neutered dog, which is fawn with blue markings on its back, has cost devoted owner xxxx and his wife, xxxxxxxx, a fortune since he bought it as a tiny puppy.

Buster was only a few weeks old when he jumped up and broke his back leg. That was operated on and soon after he did it again and broke the other leg. It has cost thousands to repair the damage.
