Hi, this is Coryn from Rochdale Dog Rescue. The family have been in contact with us about the dog that is currently in the pound and they are going to see him tomorrow. Our dog does not have a lump under his chin but fingers crossed!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just spoken to family member to alert them to the dog at Rochdale. Also emailed Rochdale to ask whether dog in pound has a lump under chin. This dog and 3 others only have days left if no rescue place found for them! Asked owner to post with outcome. Fingers crossed xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

we havent had a sighting for weeks now. we are still in contact with the rescue and the understanding that we have is that if he turns up and they hear about it first they will be in contact immediately. the lady who runs the centre has said that if he turns up she is more than happy for him to come back to us. we are beginning to feel now however that somebody has probably found him and decided to keep him but obviously we cannot be sure. I feel that there is some facts missing for this case. Whats happening with the rescue centre are you in contact with them are they trying to find charlie? Have you got proof of ownership as i understand that because Charlie was signed over to the rescue then he is now legally theirs, and proof will come in handy when he is found. I'm sorry and don't want to offend anybody but this is all a little bit strange. After being up into eccleston again today i think you should maybe think about widening your search there are so many fields in the area he may of wondered further afield. Have you had any sightings of him? Hope this boy is found soon xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

it was not charlie today in nottingham. it is my sister who was bought charlie as a present, but when she split up with her fiancee it was not possible for him to come with her to live back at home, as we have an older german shepherd who was not well at the time, the understanding with my sisters ex was that as soon as our dog, zack, was well enough, charlie was going to come here to live with us. the ex agreed to this. it was only on the day that charlie was taken to the rescue in eccleston that zack received the all clear from our vet, but by this time it was too late, charlie had escaped. it is me who jazzi spoke to on the phone, my mum and myself initiated the search for charlie as my sister was on holiday when he went missing.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am getting quiet concerned about the facts surrounding the 'disappearance' of Charlie, there seem to be some conflicting stories. I made a call to the 'owner' on 31st July, and spoke to another relative (sister???). I was told that after a relationship breakdown, 'owner' left the home, leaving Charlie behind with the ex-partner. Ex-partner couldnt cope cos of working long hours, so after several weeks of trying he surrendered Charlie to a rescue. 'Owner' was on holiday at the time and wasnt told of Charlie going to rescue. I dont believe the ex-partner did this to be vindictive at all, he was doing what was best for the dog. Im not sure legally where "ownership" lies, it could be the ex-partner because he actually purchased Charlie. Im going to be straight to the point here, IF he is missing ok fine we will continue to search for Charlie but if he isnt and he is still with the rescue- OUR MEMBERS ARE PRINTING OUT POSTERS AND GOING OUT POSTERING, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE THEIR MONEY AND TIME! Sorry but I feel that this post is necessary and its not an attack on any one person.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Really hope this is Charlie have not been online for a while. I'm still alittle confused by all this though as when i last checked doglost for progress on charlie his page was nowhere to be seen so my fiancee phoned the contact mobile number and was told that you believed you knew where he was (With the breeder) and it was now a case of an issue over the ownership of charlie. Come home soon charlie.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

charlie has not been found yet. it was another dog that doglost took a call about. we have however had a call about a dog that was picked up by the dog warden in luton and we are going to see him tomorrow in nottingham. the kennels that have this dog are confident that it may be charlie as nobody else has come forward to claim it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have been informed the dog is safe-so helpers can stop looking- there appears to be an issue with ownership-which is something doglost does not get involved with as we are just a lost and found site We thank all helpers who have been looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I'm at hillcrest vets tomorrow so will put a poster up. Also has anyone been and put posters up at the carrington centre in Eccleston and the local post office? Carrington centre is local shopping centre and it also has an italian resturant on there.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

we're just worried now that someone has taken him in and decided to keep him. but there is always the worry that he has now gone further afield either as a stray or with someone but either way we stand less chance of getting him back.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Don't give up hope Keely he's out there somewhere...probably found the food store of a good restaurant (knowing labs as I do!) Keep in touch with the dog wardens and, if not already, actually go to the nearest sanctuaries and check for yourself. If you know the area or know someone who does, ask if there are any childrens clubs, they are the best dog finders! Also, again if not already, put poster in nearest sorting office. Fingers crossed another hit may do it xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

thank u sandra. we went up to eccleston where he was lost today and put up some posters and knocked on several doors. we had 2 reported sightings of charlie but nothing came of it, as these were from 2 days ago. it is difficult because we do not live near the area but i would happily spend more time in the area looking. unfortunately the area is largely open fields and so he could be anywhere. could anyone else with any help or suggestions please get in touch.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
