So very sorry - according to his FB group a report was made by driver of a dog being hit the day he was killed but his owners were only notified yesterday - despite reporting to Network Rail ""We only found out yesterday that a report had been put in by a train driver that a dog had been struck on the evening of Wednesday the 26th of March, the evening billy went missing. Why it has taken this long is beyond me, as Chris and his wife Jan rightly made Network Rail one of their first contacts"" https://www.facebook.com/groups/1405079639762764/

Billy sadly went to Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday 26th March the day he went missing. He was hit by a train near the Holy in Caldicot hidden out of sight. They have had to wait until today to recover the body and identify it. My condolences to Chris and his family and a huge thank you to the local community and the thousands of people who have helped in the search for Billy.

Beagle now at Deerness Kennels 0191 3780439 appears to have identical face and legs. Don't know what sex,but has to be worth a look

For anyone following Billy who isnt on Facebook, there was a possible sighting of him at Dewstow golf course on Wednesday. So fingers crossed he is still in the area and will be found soon.

I'm not on Facebook, have there been any sightings? I am around the Magor and second severn crossing area tomorrow and also Caldicot will keep my eyes open for the lovely Billy.

There has been a Facebook post that basically suggests might have been tracked near the 2nd Severn Crossing, if that is the case might be worth sending alerts out to communities the other side such as Severn Beach and along. Might be worth doing even if that's not the case as it's not far - I am not sure he would make it over without being spotted but as people living in the Severn Beach / Avonmouth area often cross over for work etc, would probably be useful anyway.

I have been down Blackrock Portskewett this afternoon walked down to St Pierre yacht club and back up to Sudbrook with our dogs (beagle & beagle basset), also mentioned to 2 other dog walkers. Also drove around Portskewett and to Caldicot pill. No sightings.
