- Interesting comments going on. I have dred dogs for 25 years and I do give my postcode , phone numbers on the web BUT I personally would not put prospective buyers of my puppies through what Cavalannie does but what I do is ,Any prospective buyers are asked for phone number, name etc , If emailed I request phone number When they visit they always park in my drive and someone notes the car details. If anyone asks when can they visit ,it is always explained to them that any time as someone is always here and there IS always someone here! They are shown the puppies indoors and told that is where they are kept, I do not show them outside runs, If someone leaves a deposit then all details are taken and I always explain that I do not accept Cheques, Touch wood I have timewasters but have not fallen foul of crooks . Breeders have to be very careful to make it more difficult for these awful people out there, ChrisxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Cavalannie, you would be surprised how many people advertise litters of pups on the net giving full address with postal code, landline and mobile. Hows that for a "here they are come and pinch them" sign. It wouldnt take a thief long to work out when they are at home and when they are not!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I cant believe the nerve people have to just help themselves to a nursing mum and her tiny pups. scum. hope fizz is returned soon and the pups are too. Cavalannie, if only all breeders were as diligent as you. x Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- I breed the occasional litter....on my puppy leaflet, I don't print my address, when people phone I ask for their address and phone number, has to be a land-line.....I phone that number back at some point the next day....then I ask for their car make, colour etc and registration number....................eventually they get the leaflet and my locality, make an appointment to view and at the right time, I walk along the road, recognise the car. Photograph the car, escort the people back to my house, photograph them and ask to see some form of identity. I never advertise in newspapers etc. It tells them all this in my puppy leaflet. People who have nothing to hide accept it, anyone who doesn't like it, wouldn't get a puppy or my address. And hopefully it would put deter people who are intent on evil. It's a sad world but incidents such as this, just highlight how paranoid we now have to be. I feel so sorry for these breeders, suppose this mail hasn't a great deal to do with this case but hope it might give people so ideas as to steps to take to protect their babies.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- How terrible ! No more news since then? What have the police done about it ? Surely there are 2 crimes here, breaking and entering, and stealing. Well, I have to say that was 2 years ago and the law still has not improved for dog stealing. When is this country going to wake up and see what is going on right under their noses. It really makes my blood boil. Ok,I have said my bit. I really hope you can get Fizz back. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- OMG what a damn cheek! Maybe any pups for sale should be viewed away from where they live.... just a thought if the thieving scum are prepared to do this! Really hope Fizz and her babies are safe. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

- Owners placed ad in Admag advertising this litter of puppies. A lady responded to the ad, made appointment to view the litter. She turned up with 2 young (teenage) lads, a baby and another woman. The lady placed a reserve on the red pup and said she would return the following day with the deposit. Only the lads returned at 3am and smashed their way into the kennels removing Fizz and her 5 pups. A new black estate vehicle was used as a getaway unfortunately the number plate or make was not taken. Thieves had the gall to return a week later to try and take the remaining bitch but was chased off by the owner. This theft took place just over 2 years ago.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
