- So pleased this lovely girl is back with her family x

- Really pleased to see this beautiful girl back with her owners. They have been extremely lucky this time and it only cost them money and in my area its £80. I really do hope that they do get her chipped and it maybe that this girl is trying to tell them something that she needs more stimulation and longer walks than she may be getting as these are working dogs even though we have them as pets! Many grateful thanks to Felicia and her: friends for keeping her safe. XLast edited: 2014-04-09 16:31:10 by ClaireC

- I'm just glad she's safe and back with her owners (for now) Hopefully they'll chip her and put a collar on. It's not expensive to do these two things and it can make all the difference. She could have easily been stolen and whisked away!
Thanks for everyone's help on here :) I'd be devastated if my collie x lab went missing! X - 2014-04-09 14:09 Nina
- The owners got off light with having to pay £60 They could have been fined I beleive up to £5000 for the dog not wearing or having any ID.

- So pleased to see she is home so quickly, such a beauty! Could be irresponsible owners, but if they didn't know she had been escaping then maybe not. Hopefully they will make sure she is more secure now. We had a collie who went walkabout (he had excellent road-sense, always got out of the way of traffic) every evening when we got home from work. We would go chasing around the village looking for him only to return to find him back home. This happened every day for a week, then when we went to the pub at the weekend the landlord said "oh you've decided to come with him then!" Apparently he went straight there (4 mins.walk for us)sat and watched their cat for a while then came home - he always liked cat-watching! Anyway we put a stop to that.

- If it cost the owners £60 then all well and good if it makes them take better care of her. No sympathy except for Fliss x

- Great news...over to blue for you...

- Good she has been reunited, she does look gorgeous. Many thanks to Felicia and her work friends who showed such concern for her. Maybe, as there were offers of homes for her, the people concerned may think of rehoming another lost, lonely dog. Many of whom who are lovely dogs who end up being PTS through absolutely no fault of there own, and only want a loving home. Sorry appeal over !!! Well done to all of you who helped this lovely collieLast edited: 2014-04-09 12:39:18 by Esther

- UPDATE: My friend messaged me this.
'Hi Fliss. The dog has been claimed. She escaped each day and returned home before her owners got back from work so they never knew. It cost them 60 pounds to get her back'
Irresponsible owners in my opinion. I hope the kennels urged them to get her a collar and to get chipped as she might not be so lucky next time.
Does this thread need to be moved to the Reunited section? First time using Doglost so I've no idea what to do now.

- Has anyone put any posters up in the area where she was found? Owner may not be aware of doglost and we all know that they can be "missed" if timing is wrong when ringing kennels. Also, maybe local vets (Matlock?) would recognise her & they may put posters up too.

- Thanks Felicia for keeping us updated. X

- Not sure which kennels but they can still call the number above (01629 734411) and speak to a Matthew Wareham who will point them in the right direction. :)

- It sounds as though if no owner comes forward she will have a choice of homes! Do please keep us updated. Just for the record but what kennels is she being boarded at and who does an owner contact should they be looking for her on doglost? X

- Latest reply: She's in kennels now. The dog pound insisted on it. They are nice boarding kennels though. If she isn't claimed in a week then we get her back and all of the girls at work want her. She will be well looked after. The warden knows we would have her back.

- This is what he told me:
''She's going for photos at the dog pound and to register that we have her at work''
This is all I know at the moment I'm afraid. Been in touch again so I'm waiting on a reply. - 2014-04-08 18:10 ClaireC
- Hi Felicia i read that your friend had taken this dog to the pound! So has your friend been allowed to take her home in the interim and wait to see if an owner comes forward?
- 2014-04-08 18:01 Felicia Goodwin
- Thanks guys. I've passed on the info to the person who has the dog. I assume they've already been in touch with the dog warden. She is a beautiful dog and I just don't want her to be put down when unclaimed after so many days/weeks. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens and if someone comes for her. Fingers crossed.

- I would definitely let the dog warden know if you would be interested in giving her a home. I missed a dog as I waited 6 days before enquiring, in the hope she was reunited with her owner. Fortunately the dog was ok, but Claire is right to suggest you speak up now.

- Hi Felicia at least with a dog warden the owner will usually check with them as well. Could belong to a family and off school child could have left door or gate open as often happens on school hols! You could check with pound/dog warden as to what happens if no owner comes forward at what stage they go up for rehoming. I would suggest you make this known to them now if you are interested in rehoming this stunning girl. Ive got a black and white Merle BC.

- I hope the owners do make an effort to find her and get in touch with vets, dog wardens etc. What happens when someone doesn't come forward for a dog?

- Oh I definitely would ask for proof of ownership and my friend knows this also. Yes, she's apparently in very good condition - and very friendly! It's just such a shame she isn't chipped or wearing a collar! Surely someone is missing her. I just don't want anyone to take her in because she's not chipped and to keep as their own. They can't do that right? All I know is that she's been taken to the pound and a few photos have been taken. I do know she's in good hands at the moment and safe and warm.
- 2014-04-08 16:18 ClaireC
- Have to add that she is in too good condition to be a stray!
- 2014-04-08 16:17 ClaireC
- Stunning dog. I personally would ask for proof of ownership before letting her go to possibly just anyone!

- I believe she is. She was found by my friend this morning in Bonsal, Derbyshire. Really hope someone comes forward for her. Last edited: 2014-04-08 14:43:10 by Felicia Goodwin
