hi just a suggestion, there's a dog pound kennels in crynant neath, I would think the dog has been put there as its in the area, I know the wardens cant get back to you til tomorrow, so here's the number of the farm house who run the kennels 01639 750894 keep ringing them!! x

To add to the confusion RSPCA Llys Nini published on their Facebook page that owner should contact 0300 1234 999 (Cruelty line)!

As far as I can see the RSPCA handing out CAPITA's answer phone service has caused the delays... I know for fact that before the owner called on Thursday that her ex boyfriend also called the CAPITA phone number, yet RSPCA procedures has resulted in Rolo not being reunited... The CAPITA staff admit they haven't got a clue where the dog is, RSPCA Cyrmu suggested looking on PetsLocated.Com - which hasn't got any details of Rolo. While I think the member of staff who rescued Rolo must have done a great job, the poor dog has been badly let down once entering the RSPCA/CAPITA system.

Lots of cross wires here. RSPCA Inspector risked self and saved dog from ledge and placed it in a place of safety not Llys Nini this time. Spoke to Inspector concerned yesterday who had left messages for owner and was waiting for return call.

Would I be right in thinking, from what I've read below, that the owner knows the RSPCA has her dog and and the owner has contacted them, that the owner and dog still haven't been reunited because the RSPCA don't know where it is???

On talking with RSPCA Cymru trying locate Rolo they said they recommended http://www.petslocated.com which didn't even have Rolo listed on! They also charge owners £12 to list lost dogs. I told them to check out the great work that doglost does. No comparison.

Yes, owner is Natasha dog is Rolo. We identified the dog quite quickly, with an ex-boyfriend phoning the 0300 123 8018 and leaving a message, Natasha the owner then also "left a message" too with no response back at all yesterday. I noticed that RSPCA Llys Nini was detailed on the found report so I have given their details to them too in the hope that Rolo is located there? Didn't realise that RSPCA employee CAPITA to take phone messages. The 0300 123 8018 is not even in Wales! It's a central number that they hand out for any location...

This poor little dog was found balanced on a ledge 15 feet above the River Neath. Hope you've managed to find his owner Doggy Boutique. Please keep us updated. Thanks x

Doing research tonight it looks like they have handed out a call centre number run by CAPITA (nick named Crapita after many cock-ups and loss of contracts).

Don't think the RSPCA procedure of phoning a National (not in cost but location) number to "leave a message" is the best solution to reuniting a dog quickly? A message has been left...

200 miles away I spotted this on Twitter, publicised to my friends from my home town and I've got a success!

His name is Rolo, owned by Natasha Joseph.
