- Did anyone ever find this dog>?
- 2014-04-16 23:28 AlisonH
- Hi Debbie I only listed the dog so have not seen it. I looked at dog ID64835 and I suppose it could be that dog but the lady who witnessed the accident said it looked fit and well cared for and the dog you refer to has been on the run since February so would look a bit worse for wear by now.

43 miles away he went missing - 2014-04-13 21:51 Willow Dood
- I do hope that he is not on his own. I would come over to help you search Clare, but I am away on holiday. There are more houses on the south side of the road. Is it Old Bracknell Lane? He may have come from there. He sounds like he is quite a distinctive dog, so someone must know him, I would have thought. I do hope you can find out something positive soon.

- This is exactly what i was wondering although there are only a handfull of houses there. I knocked on some doors but no answer. Checked in the woods as well. Its very quite around there as everything is closed until tomorrow. So hoping he is ok I cant bear to think of him lying injured somewhere.

- I wonder if this dog has actually run home. From memory there are some houses around the fire station. If this is the case, then the owner will not be looking at this site. Perhaps it would be a good idea to contact local vets, to see if he has been brought in.

- I drove back this way at 3am on my way home from work to have another look but no luck. I will go back shortly and look again. Such a busy main road though. There are so many places locked up for the weekend behind the fire station that he could have got under the gates. Ill see if i can find any security guards today. No sign of anyone yesterday. I think ill knock on a few doors in case anyone knows him. Not many houses here mainly businesses. I will alert a few local vets tomorrow as well. Thanks for all the tips.

- Poor dog, hope he or she is found safe and is ok. It will be in shock and will have lay down somewhere it feels safe. Anyone out searching check under hedges, bushes etc and any used or unused outbuildings, barns, sheds, stables.
As for the driver who hit it I hope there is cctv footage and they will be found and charged. It is against the law to drive off and not report to the police that you have hit a dog. Can't understand how anyone can drive away, so cruel and irresponsible, makes me angry grrrrr!

- Keep searching please xxx

- This dog will be in hiding close by.
If anyone is searching this dog will be metres away.
Shock would make him /her run but then would lay down.
A good while ago I saw a staffie running the midde of the road screaming.
How this dog ran I have not a clue but did collapse and could not get up.
So I had to carry him.
This dog had a badly broken leg.
So please anyone searching he wont have gone far behind that
Fire station
Good luck wish I was nearer - 2014-04-12 22:09 Unknown

- You could possibly alert the fire station to ask if they could keep an eye and an ear open as well. Even perhaps a fairly local Vet Practice , just in case an owner goes into them to ask if they have seen/heard or treated one.Last edited: 2014-04-12 19:46:55 by ClaireC

- Thank you for searching Clare. As you say the dog is probably hiding up and in shock. Hopefully it will be found soon.

- I drove around for an hour. Went into all the side roads behind the fire station. Lots of places locked up for the weekend. I asked anyone i saw there but no sightings. There are lots of woods on the opposite side of the road he/she could be hiding in but on a plus side nice weather so lots of people out walking dogs etc so hope he/she will be spotted soon.

- Who hits a dog and doesn't stop for gods sake! Don't suppose there's any cctv footage of this charmer as it's against the law to hit a dog and not report it. Are people able to go looking for the poor dog? He will probably have gone to ground and won't be easily visible so a nightmare to find him.Last edited: 2014-04-12 15:50:34 by fionap58

- The driver of the car did not even stop but a lady who witnessed the accident searched for ages but couldn't find the dog.
