- Dear Ruediger,
thank you for your message.
DogLost is a free service organization and does not normally operate outside the UK but we do what we can to help anyone who is in need. Kim contacted us and we did what we could by spreading the alerts to whoever could hear or see us! We are happy that Tuuli has been found safe and well and remain available for any future emergency in the UK or anywhere in the world! We will explore your Tasso site to see if we can learn something from others, we thank you for your availability and will not hesitate to look for you if something goes missing around your area.
Regards

- Excellent! Thank you Kim for letting us know! Well I'd like to know a
bit more about how you found Tuuli and the conditions it was found. I
will update the LostDog website and tell everyone about the good news!
Gino
Of course! Not a problem.
For 19 days we and friends have plastered the area with flyers, posters, facebook posts and gone everyday to look.
Last night, I received a call from an area resident who had just seen our dog Tuuli go into a wooded area. 15 minutes later, 4 of us went into the woods to call and look for her. It is a large wooded area with wide trails, but we each basically took a side and walked and called.
Two people made enough noise to where she came my way. I called her and eventually she came up the path right to me. She wasn't wild or scared of me. She didn't want food, just ready to go home. She still wouldn't go near anyone else as she is quite timid.
Her attached leash was broken (maybe chewed off) which was the biggest concern that she would be caught and stuck on something. The area has lots of water around, but she hasn't really eaten. Covered in ticks and lost about 10 of her 60 pounds. And very, very tired.
I am waiting for a vet appointment today for her to be checked out. But overall, she looks pretty good to have been on her own for 19 days. The picture is her after bath # 1 and about 60 ticks removed.
Moral of the story - don't give up and trust your dog as you probably know their personality best.
Does that help?
