- I find this heartbreaking for dog and owner but am disgusted that a vet wouldn't see it fit to check and report to the owner about the dog...vet's are always going on about us having our dogs microchipped....for what? if they are not going to be checked it's pointless...just a waste of money. I have already signed the online petition re this.

- I have been given information by way of an email to LostDogs-Scotland from SSPCA The information further down the page is incorrect and has now been confirmed by owner's relative.
" Hi there, We noted on your Facebook page the very sad story about Glen. There are a couple of posts on the thread which suggest that the Scottish SPCA put Glen to sleep. We would like to clarify that Glen was not taken into our care and was not put to sleep by the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA). We do not tend to post on other Facebook pages and wonder if you would be able to clarify this on this thread? It may be that Glen's owner will pass on what occurred and how and why Glen was put to sleep. Again we would like to stress that Glen was not put to sleep by the Scottish SPCA " ----------

- Why oh why is the scanning not done as should be? Makes a mockery of actually having a pet chipped if we have no confidence in this procedure being carried out, without fail.

- Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

- He was chipped so why wasn't he scanned on arrival at the dogs home? the outcome may well have been the same but at least his devoted owner could have said goodbye & held him as he left for the Bridge! my thoughts are with Glen's owner & family. Run free Glen in the knowledge you were loved dearly x

- This has been posted on fb by relative of owner:
Hi everyone.....thankyou so much to each & every person who has shared, PMd me, txt me.....unfortunately it's not good news I'm afraid!!! I received a txt in the early hours of this morning saying that a dog matching glens description had been handed into Clydebank police station, they thought he had been run over therefore they transferred him to the cat & dog home where subsequently they put him to sleep!!! If it hadn't been for the person who txt me we may have never known what happened to Glen,
I still don't know the full story as I'm not with my uncle @ the moment, he's @ the cat & dog home & is too distraught to speak!!!
This is not the outcome we'd hoped for but at least we know now.
I'll let everyone know the full story as soon as I do!!
Thankyou again, it's with a heavy heart & tears I write this , you have all been wonderful x - 2014-04-16 12:07 Tiana
