Can't find a found lurcher on either of the Many Tears sites, only a darker lurcher who is called Taiya and was handed on on death of owner. Gelertgwynne, please can you help me out here and say where the pic of found one is? Thanks.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Lurcher found, 3 1/2 years approx on the "Many Tears" web page. Hard to tell if the colouring is that of Rhians as unsure due to lighting etc... worth a look!! Fingers crossed, good luck X XLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Bitch in Hereford pound is a young pup so not Rhian who will now be nearly 5.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Rhian is still missing and Bruce is still looking. I don't think it is the bitch in Hereford pound as from the photo she looks to be rough coated with greenish eyes where Rhian is smooth with golden hazel eyes. But it is hard to tell from the pic and I am going to give the DW a call tomorrow to get a description. I know Rhian's markings and distinguishing features very well so can tell by asking a few questions over the phone if this one is a possible match or not. If Rhian does surface in any of the Hereford area pounds she will probably be matched up pdq by Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue who have been keeping an eye out for her ever since she was stolen. Sadly this lovely hound was not Rhian. Rhian has a white tail tip which this one doesn't, and not so much white on chest.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

BC and Owl I have sent you the pictures to compare and blown them up. They are very similar apart from the colour but that could be due to the age difference now. Would be great if it was Rhian we have had some brilliant longterm blues lately. Jan xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Owl just looked at the found picture, the ears, eyes, and white toes on back, looks very much like her, the colour looks different, but its so hard to tell, could be just taken in a different light, wouldnt it be great if it was rhian is the owner going to have a look at her?????????Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Rhian was the start of my involvement with doglost, so she holds a very special place in my heart, i only wish we could get her home. Keelah if you could do an article on rhian that would be great, its about time she had a bit of publicity, come home soon little girl xxxxxxx BCLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Keelah please would you go down thread and find my previous mailing which will clarify everything - the Swansea lurcher definitely wasn't Rhian and it was Oct 04 - this details needs to be removed from description. We are double checking the recentl found lurcher but are assuming she isn't Rhian either - but she is the right age. It is likely that someone has Rhian and has no idea that she was stolen in the first place.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Please will admin remove the bit on the description about being picked up in Swansea as that was a different lurcher, thanks. Have been talking to Rhian's dad on phone, he doesn't think this recently found lurcher is Rhian but isn't 100% sure as he has to compare it with some other pics of Rhian and he can't do that until tomorrow or Friday. The picture is very similar especially around the eyes. We have to double check all identifying markings to be sure. Thank you Jazzi for bringing this up to the top, as we believe Rhian is still likely to be somewhere in Wales or Welsh borders. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We have now found out what happened to the found dog. She was taken to kennels and reunited with her people next day. She was definitely not Rhian but a very close looksalike - she had a bit of a dark mask, which Rhian doesn't. We have NOT given up and are still looking.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I am pleased to say that the lady who picked up the lurcher in Swansea last month has contacted Doglost after seeing a poster. She handed the dog in to the police. She and Bruce are now in contact with each other, and it does seem quite possible that this dog is Rhian. All the markings are correct, and so are the unusual eyes which are Rhian's most striking feature. The police have now given Bruce a reference number - they had said when he contacted them after the sighting on the bridge that no such dog had been handed in! They have recorded that she was passed on to the dogwarden, so hopefully we can find out from the warden tomorrow exactly where she was taken. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

A lurcher who may be Rhian was running loose in Swansea, on Llwca (sp?) Bridge. This was reported to a Swansea vet by a woman who was familar with the poster displayed by this vet. The dog was scrawny and in poor condition. The woman tried to catch her but failed, and saw another woman catch her and take her away. This is not thought to be the dog's owner, but simply another passer-by. Please can anyone in Swansea area watch out for this dog being taken to a warden, police station or vet?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Unfortunately owner had a mini stroke yesterday-I am sure the stress of losing Rhian must have contributed to his stroke.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Great news! After a flurry of sightings early on in search the trail went dead for several weeks. So it is good to know you have more news!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sighting today just south of Church Stretton, Shropshire, on the road to Craven Arms. Previous sightings in Ludlow. A dog resembling Rhian was seen by 2 people driving along the road. They noticed that she had no collar, but thought she might be with a woman with a pushchair who was walking some distance behind her. It is strange that a dog would be on a busy road like that one with no collar. If Rhian was running loose, she would be attracted to anyone with a child as she loves children. The people in the car did not realise this might be Rhian until they went into the pub just up the road and saw the poster with her pic. They went back, but no sign of dog or woman.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
