- I've only just seen this as Di has told me about Noodles and Sarah DW. This is amazing! Well done the pair of you! If you ever needed proof that what you do is amazing, just look at this little girl. Its all very much worth it! God bless. x

- Great to read this, if only they could talk.

- I'm so pleased to hear that she is doing well. Thank you for the update love and best wishes nic x
- 2014-06-14 08:16 Di
- Aaw, thanks for asking, Nic ... I'm very happy to say that health-wise, she now has all her fur as normal (no more rat-tail !), she's not on any medication and the only itchiness is first thing in the morning - she is now 4.2 Kg - still a bit bony, but filling out gradually. Personality-wise she is a little live-wire (just as a JR should be !) - she's very young & puppy-like but eager to please. Her past life is just making training much more awkward and time-consuming, but we’ll get there.
She still shys away from being picked up easily, but that will all take time, but I rarely see instances now where she is scared (let alone terrified as she was at first). We've still to go out in the big world as I've been waiting for her health to be better before vaccination & vet handling. Her previous life must be getting a distant memory now - I don't always see how far she has come, but other people are amazed at how she seems now, so it must be good.
She's gradually becoming a lovely little terrier - full of beans & now racing around like a loony with my naughty lot - it's like a little animal sanctuary here now (good job I've got good neighbours !!).
I’d hate to think how she’d have turned out if she’d not been rescued by Sarah and put on DogLost – well, I doubt she’d even still be alive. She’s very loveable & I get an added bonus of a face-wash from her every morning & the best welcome home greeting if I’ve been out. Little Noodle has done so well, she’s been really brave and is a very happy now.
Thank you all for caring ... Noodle sends her DogLost followers a big face-wash ! x x x

- So pleased for you all, it's lovely to see her personality emerging. She sounds a bight little girl especially as she was so poorly. I'm sure she'll return your love and care a 100 times over, thanks for update, and for caring and sharing.XX

- Noodle is doing absolutely brilliantly ! (Although I'm cream-crackered !!)
Her skin is looking pink rather than red, her hair is growing back slowly and she's not quite as itchy. Her meds will finish today, so I hope this all continues. She is very gradually gaining a little weight.
The biggest thing is how much progress she is making within herself. She is so happy and not so scared. I'll bore you with how much she wants to please ... she has learnt sit and lie down - she has been clean indoors for over 2 days. She is getting more and more trustful and is starting to enjoy a bit of stroking and fuss. With a little encouragement, she now likes the scary garden. She really responds well to watching my other dogs as examples to teach her everything including manners.
Something happened that I was oblivious to last night (maybe on the tv ?) and she reverted to being the scared little girl – it was like switching the light switch, but she’s back to normal today :’( .... Another thing that I’ve noticed is that she sits the other side of an open kiddy-gate as if she’s used to being “behind bars”. It’s only there to keep them safe if the front door is opened.
Noodle’s new family are 4 other JR crosses and a chi (all rescues, each with their own issues) and 2 rescue cats and she gets on very well with them all (although my dogs are a tad jealous, but are helping greatly) – yes 2 dogs were supposed to be my limit !
Me & my girl – I think you are right – she can be quite full of herself, and I’m sure she’ll be a little live wire (but I like that !)
The speed of her progress is quite astonishing and to see her happy and playful is so touching. She’s not only brave, she’s inspirational.
I think she has received all the vibes from everyone here wishing her well and is responding. Thank you all for caring xxx - 2014-05-11 12:22 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- How is Noodle doing, begining to settle I hope. She looks a real little sweetie, but bet there's a bit of a live wire waiting to emerge.

- Absolutely loving this update. Sarah you know I think your the bees knees as it is! Di I cannot express how great that is for me to read that you not only opened your home up for Noodles but also your heart. What a wonderful person you are! I'm glad Noodles is now safe and feeling the love she should have felt from day 1 of her precious life. Thank you! From one terrier lover to obviously another ;-)

- When I got my retd. greyhound I cured her fear of fireworks using Bach Rescue Remedy, and a Rescue male dobies fear of dark places and gunshot using it. Sadly it doesn't do anything for storms but I think that's to do with air pressure.Last edited: 2014-05-09 17:59:30 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

- I have just seen you mention Sudocrem and I would like to second that. I used to use it on my little girl (sadly now deceased) when she used to get rashes from some particular plants that didn't agree with her. Sudocrem worked wonders and I used it for many years on her!

- Wow what a difference !!! Well done !
- 2014-05-08 18:12 Clare

- It breaks my heart when I hear what some animals have to go through. Humans are the only 'animals' that are cruel to another species, not out of necessity but just because they are evil or uncaring. Its very easy to become down about it knowing that you cant help all those animals in need but to even rescue and give love to just one of these poor angels is a major achievement and to know that there are many others out there doing the same gives you a little hope that we might beat this evil in the future.

- Thank you everyone for your good wishes ... I know she will be very happy here. We have a lot of work to do to get her to "normal", but wow - she is improving each day. She was so whacked-out last night from garden potty-training that I even managed to gently cut her talons ! Yes ... all of them ! She had her medicated bath & is looking better, but still itchy. Me & my girl - thank you for your tips - I already have Rescue Remedy but didn't think to use it - I will definitely try the Sudocrem.
Noodle is getting so much braver and less terrified and that is heartwarming.
She went to my vets yesterday for a weigh-in & registration & allowed the vet nurse to stroke her - just wary of hands by her head.
I sometimes am ashamed to be a human, when I see dogs like Noodle - thank goodness there are some good people about to pick up the pieces.
Sarah (Basildon Dog Warden) said she didn't think Noodle was going to make it when she was errrrm "found" ..... so Noodle was a lucky girl.
Noodle's future happy life is down to DogLost mostly (and of course Sarah - naughty cunning lady !) and I thank everyone who has posted beneath with your kind offers of help and your support .... Noodle thanks you too xxx
I shall attempt to get a photo on (not sure how yet) if she stays still long enough ... wish I could show one of her playful moments - you'd all well up to see her happy & carefree after such a poor start ! - 2014-05-07 22:08 Unknown
- Brilliant! Have a great life together the both of you:-)xxx

- 2014-05-07 12:23 Basildon DW
- This was not the plan from the start at all ;) So pleased Di is keeping her, Noodle has come on so well and she looked a different dog when I visited yesterday. It was meant to be.

- Ah! What a lovely ending! Well done to all concerned! Have a lovely life together with Noodle. Bless her little heart.
- 2014-05-07 08:31 Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
- Ah, congratulations. Sounds like it's back to "poopy training". Bach Rescue Remedy might help with her nervousness and Sudocrem was better than stuff vet gave us for our JRT flea exczema.
- 2014-05-07 05:57 Bo
- So happy for you both x
- 2014-05-06 21:19 Di
- Ha-ha, Bo - not sure you'd be so envious if you saw my poopy-piddly carpet !
(But she does have cutsie appealing eyes that you can forgive !)
I'm happy to have her moved "in the blue" if DogLost are - she now has a forever home & I'm sure she would like to thank everyone who has posted here for caring xLast edited: 2014-05-06 22:01:31 by Di - 2014-05-06 20:05 Bo
- Di - oh that's great news she's started to be a normal noisy Jack Russell. Let us know what happens and if she tumbles into the blue with you! I'm having Noodle envy.
- 2014-05-06 19:47 Di
- Bas DW - there are no words I can express to say just how dedicated you have been here.
I wish I could have taken a video clip of her progress - tonight, this skin-and-bone, scared and scabby little braveheart went flying down my scary garden with my rowdy, barking lot just like a Jack Russell type should ... it was so heartwarming to see and I wanted to share that image with the people caring for her well-being. She is visually chuffed when I tell her she is a "good girl".
Today, I packed her bags for Sarah to pick her up, and just welled right up when she looked at me. She is very, very happy here and it shows - I have really wrangled over this littluns very poor start and what a way she still has to go, but hey ... what is one more little wonky one !
I may be wrong, but I somehow guess no-one will be looking for her and I have checked her to all the missing females on DogLost(just in case she was stolen) but can find no match ....... but she has a forever home here, so not sure if little Noodle will be moved to the blue. She is such a brave girl x - 2014-05-05 17:29 Bo
- Noodle suits her - as does the shortened version. Looking forward to updates as to how she gets on. As others have said, let us know if she needs anything as fully available to help. Hopeful she can avoid going into kennels with you and Sarah on the case. X
- 2014-05-05 17:00 Di
- Hi Bo - Sarah has named her Noodle - unfortunately I'm one of those people that shorten & unfortunately keep calling out "Noo-Noo" !
She will become a very lovely dog if she is matched carefully in a very special, understanding home. Lovely temperament, but scared ... I know in the right hands that can be helped over time. She now does a very worthy sit, so she is trying hard too. I know she will become better and better with each day - she has it in her (even just the faintest hint of playful yesterday). I don't know anything further than tomorrow, when Sarah is back. I once had a dog on foster before that was hit and kept in a single room without going out - no manners or training in any form ... he turned into the most special, one-in-amillion, eager-to please sweetheart & is here forever !
Thank you everyone for caring for this poor littlun x - 2014-05-05 15:13 Bo
- Di - Have you or Sarah given her a name? Is she staying with you in foster for a while :)
- 2014-05-04 20:23 Chris63
- Poor little thing, thank god for such kind people to give her some tlc. Hope her skin condition soon heals. X
- 2014-05-04 18:54 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- She sounds so scared, poor thing. I am sure though Di, that she will soon respond to your kindness. Hope her itchy skin soon heals, as this must be making her miserable. Gentle hugs from me xx
- 2014-05-04 15:15 Clare
- Poor little girl. It sounds like she was found by the best people to care for her. Hope she recovers enough to be rehomed and get all the love and care she deserves x
- 2014-05-04 01:01 Sherlock- Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - Avon & South Gloucestersh
- Oh poor baby girl....wish her lots of healing hugs and gentle kisses xx
- 2014-05-03 11:37 Debs
- Great to hear she finally knows what love and affection is, clearly this is all new to her. Thank you lovely ladies for showing compassion for this much needed dog x
- 2014-05-03 09:49 Di
- 2014-05-03 09:14 Bo
- Awwww - lucky Di! I'm a bit envious to be honest as she's as cute as a button. Does she need a nice new collar and lead? A warm coat? I have a nice one that is too big for my Jack Russell's she can have... Let me know.
- 2014-05-02 17:44 Basildon DW
- Thanks for the offers or help. She is responding really well to treatment at the moment. She is much more comfortable and starting to relax a little. She is enjoying the help from canine friends and Di is taking care of her this weekend so I think she will come on leaps and bounds this weekend.
- 2014-04-29 18:46 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- Thanks for the info. Will keep her on my follow list & keep watching in case you need funds.
- 2014-04-28 23:54 Carol
- Oh my god poor little girl, if you do need help with vet fees just shout and I will def donate give her a cuddle from me xxxx
- 2014-04-28 22:04 Basildon DW
- Thank you max but at the moment we are covering the vet bills, we hope that we get everything under control she wont need any major tests or treatments. She was able to have her first bath today and given another course of steroids, she is scratching away like crazy but hopefully it will calm down and she will get a good nights sleep.
- 2014-04-28 17:26 Max - Area Co-ordinator - Cornwall & Area Volunteer - Durham & Ireland
- She looks so unhappy. Does she need help with vet bills?
- 2014-04-28 15:28 Basildon DW
- She was in agony. She is still rather poorly and skin is not as raw now but its going to take a while to figure out whats causing this. She is very scared of everything and does not like being handled or stroked, she is getting better with this and relying on my dogs heavily to help her. She is laying next to us now and allowing tickles under her chin and a belly rub now and again. My dogs will sort out her fear and trust issues soon enough, they are very good at that.
- 2014-04-28 15:21 Bo
- Oh gosh that looks so sore - no wonder she was tearing at her skin :(
- 2014-04-28 14:56 Unknown
- So sorry to see this about this poor girl. At least she is safe now, and I hope she can make a full recovery. Sending her healing vibes for her health problems. And a gentle (HUG) Keep us posted please.
