Thank you Big Soppy Animal Lover, posters would be good. I am a friend of the family and haven't stopped looking for Lottie. I put a couple of posters up on the way out to Much Hadham but I think they blew down or were taken down. Thank you to all who keep sharing but please keep sharing everywhere. She is out there somewhere.x

I was up at Green Tye, Perry Green, Much Hadham again .... no posters up still - in fact I have never seen any. People won't know or will forget. Lanes are ideal as a short cut. I am back in the Spring so will put some up if I remember.Last edited: 2015-11-17 13:24:58 by Lesley (ID84584)

I have my Dog Today mag ... so sorry to see she is still missing. I live in Norfolk but visit Hadham and PG as we have family there and always keep an eye out. Can you put a poster up by the cemetry to catch traffic from Hadham, Widford, PG and if coming from Standon and Stortford? I've never seen any posters up though. If she has been taken in, perhaps they do not know missing and assume dumped. O rsimply have fallen for her. Easy to field walk rather than the lanes. I know PG is a small community. Hope to hear more news soon.

Could a Lottie person please take a look at GSD Sams Reunited page ID74509. Sheila Savage post 24/9 10.59 says a big dog was reported on the level crossing at Roydon whcih is 6 miles from where Lottie went missing. Yesterday we found out it wasn't Sam. Today I wondered if there was any chance it could be Lottie. There is no description of dog and it may have belonged to a local or a boat owner ( River Stort runs right by the crossing ). Just thought it may be worth further investigation. phoned 01279 897419 and spoke to Hookhart. EDIT Sadly the Roydon dog is at Rainbow bridge and owners aware. Well done to everyone for their staying power. If you find any links to dogs found in Kent or even Norfolk, do not disregard. Dogs from this area do often head that way as we have retrieved some in the past. The fact that Lottie is spayed is really good news because she cannot be used for breeding. If she gets loose from wherever she is and found, she will most likely get scanned. So, hopefully if Peter did the Highways and Council cleansing dept checks, and everything else we asked him to do at the start, then other things should also be ruled out. So it leaves the possibility that she is with someone. She won't get scanned unless Vet sees a reason to do so. It might be worth physically going into the vets in the surrounding areas and asking if they will scan all new client dogs? Most will not. So, you may need to plead with them and ask them to check if a dog fitting Lottie's details has been registered. They won't tell you, but they make start to think and who knows? Even if Lottie was sitting under her poster in the vets, many vets will still not scan. You could ask them to promise they will scan all new dogs coming in. Keep chipping away. Worth a try. You are all so fantastic. You should all be proud of yourselves and once Lottie is home, we will all be elated. x

Today have been to Stansted and met the lady who back in June sighted a couple with a somewhat dirty labradoodle. Posted the area where seen and also large estate nearby, the local pub Kings Arms very kindly took a poster to display and cards for their information table. Also put a poster up in Birchanger. The above lady is going to raise awareness in the Stansted area as she has many contacts. Cards given out to dog walkers in the area who all knew about Lottie which is great!Last edited: 2014-07-25 19:10:54 by Tracy

The sighting of a labradoodle in Hay Street near Braughing turned out to be a spaniel poodle cross and was male. Posters and cards put up anyway in the area and given to local pub, the Axe and Compass.

Googled map of possible sighting, sounds good to me. It isn't too far away either, perhaps a menu of bunny is getting boring and the cooking smells attracted the sighted dog. Anymore foody places around? Fingers crossed.

Don't know how, but found a site " keep it local Waltham Abbey" is it worth putting Lottie on there?

I notice on the Lottie page above the reward of £750 is not mentioned, please can this be added Lisa?

Just heard from a neighbour some workmen at her house saw the poster of Lottie and said they thought they saw a dog like her bolt across the road alone. This was near The Catherine Wheel, Pelham Rd, Gravesend, Albury Ware, Herts, SG11 2LW. I am going to leave a Lottie card with the pub and put a poster in the area. Anyone who lives that way please keep looking. This dog was seen a week ago so not recent but anything is worth following up. Not giving up on you Lottie.Last edited: 2014-07-21 17:04:55 by Tracy

That is great Tracy, you have been busy. Yes Lisa, I have got Lotties microchip number, do want me to email the photo of it? Peter has spoken to the microchip company, they are aware. I am in the process of getting all the vets email addresses that I can find in and out of the area so I can contact them. I have even contacted councils way out of the area but I will be contacting more through the next weeks. The EHDC animal warden has been most helpful and has said if we get info and suspect somebody is keeping Lottie, she has no problem taking a police officer or pcso to scan that dog which is great news. Just need sightings or somebody to let us know they have seen Lottie at large or with somebody.x
Tracy
Today BRAND NEW posters with reward of £750 stated, have been put up in the villages of Eastwick, including farm shop, Hunsdon, Widford, Standon, Little Hadham, new posters in Much Hadham but more needed! and one taken to kindly be displayed in the village of Puckeridge. Post offices and shops have taken small cards as well. Wherever you live, please keep looking. If anyone wants posters and cards to print themselves, please say and we will send them to you. COME ON LOTTIE WHERE ARE YOU!!!
Lisa Baker
Hi Karen, I was always told that there are to types of microchips & not all vet scanners can read both. Some dogs will not even flag up they are chipped when they are! I have shared Lotties status on every National page & website I can find & the Doodle Trust are also scaring nationwide. I agree that she is probably way out of the area by now & with someone. If she had fallen into water & the worst has happened, I would have though someone would have found her by now? Did you get her microchip number from Peter & also, has Peter notified the microchip company that she is missing? x
Hookart1
Just to let you know Lottie's lost page and info on twitter has been retweeted 12,500 times. Hopefully somebody will see her. FB around 200 shares n the last couple of days. Some pubs in surroundings areas now have Lottie's details and some are printing ofd and putting up Lottie posters. Tracy and Dawn are kindly putting up more posters. As soon as my back is better I will be back out looking and putting posters up. Thank you to everyone helping. Keep looking everyone. She is out there somewhere. x

In the absence of any recent sightings I think Lottie is out of the area you are searching in. I've seen it suggested on DL that some lost dogs move in a triangle, how big that triangle is I've no idea, perhaps somebody can let you know about that. I've also read that some dogs follow rivers and streams of which there seem to be a lot in the area. I think I read that there was a possible sighting at Braughing. On the river theme have Inland Waterways? been contacted. I've looked at navigable rivers in Herts, The Stort joins The Lee near Hoddesdon, would it be possible to poster some of the locks along both rivers. Looking at maps I can see why there possibly haven't been any sightings. she could travel up to Cambridge 28 miles away without hardly passing a house. I've tried to find how far a lost dog can travel on its own but no luck. Don't come back to me on this post I'm just trying to spark a few thoughts in what must fast becoming overstretched brains. Perhaps admin could send out alerts further afield.Last edited: 2014-07-03 16:16:40 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

Hi Lisa, I was told by a vet and by the animal warden that only the new chip scanners (halo) say if the pet is registered lost otherwise they just come up with a number and say they are chipped. I have asked Peter for the number so I can write to all the vets with it and Lottie's photo to ask them to scan any dogs of her breed to check. I feel somebody has her and will have to eventually take her to the vets. The animal warden said it would be advisable to widen out search area so I have contacted some councils further afield too. My son suggested doing something for Youtube. Can anyone sing or have any really good editing skills to make a film?
Lisa Baker
Thanks for doing that Karen. I did contact all of the animal wardens in Hertforshire (there's a lot of different councils) when she first went missing & they said that they would keep a record - they obviously don;t keep them for very long then! I also contacted the British Transport Police & the Highways agency so they have her details should she be found involved in an accident. I'm not around Friday-Sunday but will keep checking what I can, when I can. Tracey, I know local vets have been made aware but we are, as you say relying on them actually scanning! I have shared lot ties poster & FB page nationwide to missing dogs pages on FB incase someone has stolen her & taken her further a field… WIll not give up until we find her & thanks for all your help & support. Lisa x
Hookart1
Hi an update for you all. I have contacted some more councils and registered Lottie as lost with their animal wardens (as advised by EHDC animal warden). If you want a list of councils/people I have contacted please let me know. Lottie has NOT been reported as being hurt or killed on the road, so with this encouraging news please everyone keep looking, posting, FB, twitter and every other method of keeping the message out there!Let's find Lottie!!!!
Hookart1
I have been busy on twitter and FB spreading the word with everyone who will retweet/share. Tracey I will text you later. x
Tracy
Hi would people consider checking in with their own vets, wherever you are in the country (it must be worth now looking further afield) in case anyone who has acquired an adult female labradoodle and also the vets policy on scanning microchips, particularly if its a new animal registered with them. I have heard that sometimes they are not scanned and the animals can take a lot longer to be reuinited with their owners. Hope on Thursday we can think of any other way we can help to bring Lottie home......
Hookart1
Hi Lisa, Yes there are posters up around the area but I think people are used to sseeing them.I think they need changing. I might try and put some up in Bishops Stortford as well. I asked Sam if she would go on BBC breakfast if I can get them to run the story. Trying to get hold of somebody at the BBC now (I had to come home from work - I hurt my back this morning of all things to happen!!!). If you can keep up with the good work of web searching, I can try other things up here. x
Lisa Baker
Lottie is a lot more silver than the dog listed at Wanderers Haven. I'm in Surrey Karen (with five of my owe) otherwise I would come up & help. I'm still trawling all the rescue pages, sanctuaries etc. on a daily basis but am wondering if Lottie could have been taken further a field? Are there still lots of posters up in the area? x
Hookart1
Hi me n my girl. The family went to see the dog, sadly it wasn't Lottie. Well done for spotting it though. If anyone is free Thursday, I propse a get together to work out a plan of action. I think a round of door knocking in Much Hadham and some new poster. Anyone free Thursday? Karen x

Brown standard poodle found on A127 between Cranham and M25 in a poor condition, matted fur overgrown claws, fleas, ticks and dried on poo. She is being cared for by Wanderers Haven (on FB ). I have rung Lotties home phone no. with this info so they can take a look.

Hookart1 I read about the sighting on the facebook site for Lottie if you are asking me where I read it. If it was more of a comment, I know what you mean. If she likes the water she could have followed any number of streams and rivers I've seen on the map. Will keep looking on sites and rescues. Hi me and my girl. Lottie would bark when people were walking by the house and when she was excited she had a funny high pitched bark/squeel. I contacted all the dog walkers, groomers and pet shops in Bishops Stortford, Much Hadham and Ware and all the wardens and councils last week. I have even contacted Hillside because they get dogs from all over. I phoned a couple of vets and emailed/FB vets, pets at home and even Coleen Nolan via twitter and got about 100 retweets form that. My I told a gardening client today and she has asked her friend whyo jogs at Much Hadham to keep an eye open and my daughter has asked a few people at Welcome Break (she works there) and they already know about Lottie. Can the sighting be clarified? Who saw what and exactly where? Thanks x
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Think there was a possible earlier sighting in Stanstead area, perhaps contact vets and groomers in the area if you haven't done so already. Is Lottie a barker and howler, the labradoodle over our park is very quiet.
Lisa Baker
Thanks so much Hookart1, I saw the log photo on your fb page & yes, I had to look twice! Am waiting for the dog walker to update me…..
Hookart1
Hi I have had a scout around that area this evening (in the pouring rain - yes I am tat daft. No sign but I saw a log that fooled me (see my facebook page) it really looked like a dog. Keep looking.
Lisa Baker
Just to update you, yes Lottie is registered as missing with Battersea.

This morning Lotties Dog walker has posted on the 'Lottie the missing Labradoodle' FB page the following post -

there has been barking heard at around 12.30 am each evening for a few days, the lady who reported it says it sounds like its in the stanstead hill- bluebell wood area. I have been down but heard nothing. Myself and Amy are going there this evening…. could anyone just let us know if they think its their dog as this would rule Lottie out.

If anyone is near this area, do they know of any dogs that howl late at night? Thanks Lisa xLast edited: 2014-06-23 14:49:28 by Lisa Baker

I think you're right Kimmybear about all dogs being taken to Godmanchester. I'm not suggesting Lottie would worry livestock but if a Farmer shoots a dog, is he required by law to report it? Could she be stuck in a badger sett or is she too big?
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Well done everyone. This is really odd that we've had no sightings. Someone may well have her but where? WGAS has connected database and dogs all go to Godmanchester as far as I'm aware. Cats go to Heydon & Wood Green. x
Hookart1
Hi me n my girl, yes I phoned Woodgreen too. They haven't had any Labradoodles handed in. I don't know if all their different areas are connected on one database so if somebody else could call the Woodgreen in London? I don't know if any one has contacted Battersea Dogs Home? Just in case?
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
How about Wood Green? I don't know any smaller shelters that way, trouble is there have been a few failed chips lately, and I wouldn't think Lottie would stay in one for too long. Me again. I had a phone round the animal shelters and the wardens sadly no luck.
Hookart1
Hi, there is also other for sale sites that I have joined to keep an eye out for Lottie.I will be going out again soon to have another look for her but I think it might be a case of us all looking in dog walking areas in Bishops Stortford, Widford,Ware and Much Hadham etc to see if she turns up with somebody walking her. I feel she would have been seen again if she was still lost out in the field/woods etc there are so many people about but if somebody has her they will have take her out at some point. I noticed today going to Perry Green that the posters are dissappearing. I will try and print some new ones but I am really busy this time of year so if anyone can lend a hand I would be grateful? Thanks
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
You're probably aware of FB site "pets for sale in and around hertfordshire". I stumbled on it but didn't see Lottie. May be worth a look now and again.
Hookart1
Hi I have been tweeting and sending messages via facebook as much as possible today. Keep it going everyone, she is out there somewhere. A post earlier that a dog was found after 4 1/2 years of being missing which is great the the dogs are back with their owners but lets get Lottie back sooner than that! Keep looking everyone.
Detheo Photography
Hi Peter,
Please can you confirm some details which appear to be confusing or unknown and which we hope will assist us in our search. The second and more recent photograph of Lottie - when was this image taken? What was happening at exactly the time Lottie disappeared? was there some kind of scuffle and she ran? What time was it?

There was a report of a sighting on the same day and apparently a lady tried to take hold of Lottie but she slipped her collar, where is the collar now? What time was this and who was this lady? How did she know that Lottie was missing?

It is really important that we get these answers so we can establish clarity on the possible sightings etc.

Laura from Pawfect Friends and I have been continuing to search. We have printed and laminated many more posters and Laura has placed these in Stansted and in some of the walks close to your home which appeared not to have been done already.

We all are still actively doing as much as possible and praying she is found soon.

Maria x
Tracy
Lisa - this site was mentioned by another person on Dog Lost www.stolenandstray.co.uk they do make a charge but might be worth a look.....they can widen the search UK wide as well
Tracy
I put a new laminated poster at the Little Hadham lights and mentioned the reward......is there still a possibility of doing a massive search with lots of people?
Lisa Baker
4 weeks today since Lottie's disappearance & no more sightings. We are continually checking dog wardens & rescue centres but nothing so far. Please keep a look out for her - she has to be out there somewhere… x
Lisa Baker
Local rescues all have been contacted. PDSA, RSPCA, Battersea, Dog Trust & local vets all have her details as do local equestrian centres - Someone must have her! I'm checking all the pages I've added her to regularly & her Facebook page has reached over 25,000 people this week alone! Let's make her too hot to handle xx
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Thanks Hookhart, the only other thing I can think of is contact local schools and rescues.
Hookart1
Hi me n my girl, sadly neither of the dogs on the found page you mention look like Lottie. She has quite destinctive eyes, they are a goldish colour if that helps with identification on the found pages?
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Thoughts. With the aid of google, Much Hadham cycling club, Much Hadham golf and tennis club, Ash Valley golf club, Tharbies private fishing club opposite Gt Hadham golf and country club. Are there any allotments around. Nursing or residential care homes as dogs have been hiding in the grounds of these before. Has anybody had a look at the two dogs I mentioned in my post 9/6? The trouble is she could have moved out of the area but which way. Has anybody contacted the dog wardens in surrounding areas?
Tracy
I just wondered if it is worth adding the reward and amount to Lotties poster? Even people who are not particularly dog minded might then be interested enough to join the search......? Spreading the word to other people too and new dog walkers I meet.......
Hookart1
Today I have contacted as many dog groomers and walkers as possible and made them aware of our little missing Lottie. Any more ideas anyone? Who else can we contact to spread the word - keep it going, keep people talking about her, make her too hot to handle and get her returned!
Gino
Tx Hookart1 !
Hookart1
Following the last post, I have sent messages via FB to the UK Ramblers, RSPCA, RSPB (twitchers are out and about and might spot something). The Girl Guides, the Scouts (you never know) the Young Farmers Hertfordshire, National Trust and if I think of any other organisations that might have people who go out and about I will contact them too. I think it might be worth contacting the local schools too. The more people that know Lottie is missing, the better the chance of getting her spotted and getting her back. Thoughts. Have you contacted dog wardens in all surrounding areas, not just your own. Did Lottie go missing from garden, if she did she could have been stolen. Did you get the collar back and if not what colour was it? Could there be anything wrong with chip information?ie telephone no. changed or put on incorrectly? I searched DL for any dog resembling a labradoodle, please have a quick look, found ID 69783 and 69805, wrong colour? I know but clutching at straws, both wearing pink collars and one called LOTTIE ! Other possible contacts ramblers clubs, wildlife trusts, fishing clubs and RSPB reserves if there are any in extended areas. You are all working so hard and it would be lovely if the girlie would give you a bit of help, but as you know you've got to be in the right place at the right time.Last edited: 2014-06-09 15:54:57 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

Hi All
Re last post. yes we checked that one. Sadly its not her. Its over 3 weeks now and though we're remaining positive we are beginning to wonder whether she has been taken in. With so many people looking I'm just surprised we haven't found her as she is so friendly I can't believe she would go to ground.
I can tell you that she is famous in the immediate area now.Posters everywhere, everyone knows of our plight.
Maybe the reward will help...?? Hopefully.
Come on Lottie. Come home we all miss you tons!!!xx

There is a brown labradoodle adult girl for sale online with pets4homes, dunmow, essex, posted today. I think it looks too brown to be Lottie but thought I should post on here in case....I so hope Lottie is found soon. I have been following Lotties story and really hope she is back with you soon xx

You people are amazing! I was so worried we wouldn't be able to find helpers out there as its semi rural, but you have all stepped forward for Lottie & Sam. Absolutely well done! I do keep wondering if we are missing something here, as its unusual not to have sightings, or if Lottie went close to home why has she not come back. I believe there are, luckily, less dangers that way than there could be. Even a pup would not stay away if she could help it unless she went too far and did get herself lost. Dogs are very resilient. I don't know the area and you all know this much better than I, but I'm just pondering it all. If she had been lost a way from home, it would make more sense. A mystery. Come on Lottie, let us know where you are. x

I have also read somewhere on this site that it may also help to EMPTY YOUR DUSTBIN BAG in the area the Dog may be - they certainly have strong sense of smell & home - Hoping Lottie is soon back Home x

Has anyone tried leaving a bit of the owner's well-worn clothing, some water and perhaps a crate near to the place where she was last seen? I've heard this sometimes works. If it was in a reasonably exposed place you could leave a note on the items asking for them not to be moved. Hopefully Lottie would then be tempted by her owner's scent and waiting for you. Good luck x

Just another thought, could everyone check their local newsagents for sale boards. It might just be possible that if somebody has Lottie, they may just put an ad up in their local news agent and avoid the web altogether.

Hi All, did a circular walk this morning in Much Hadham and sadly as everyone else, no sign of poor LotLots, also put some posters up in Stansted Mountfitchit in the area where a lady saw a Lottie lookalike and had a chat with the vets there. They have put her poster up and will circulate between all their branches. If you go out on your regular walks please could you print some posters and replace the old photo one with her new one as she is so much more silvery, I only had the old ones today also. Keep looking and if anyone is in town tomorrow please ask shops to put the poster up not everyone is on Facebook or the web. Keeping hope love Laura x

I have been following Lotties disappearance on Facebook and on here every day, I am a dog owner myself, live locally and am heartbroken for the owners that Lottie is missing - this is only a thought but has anyone contacted the golf club - there is plenty of scraps to be had up there and places to shelter (ask to speak to the chefs)? (I used to work there) I also wonder if you have checked the old stone shelters at the back of jobbers wood and around there? I am sure you will have already done all of this but if not I hope it helps. I will keep my eyes open as many people are - if you set up a wide area search party, we will be happy to join in.Last edited: 2014-06-06 12:36:28 by jules3762

Adding to earlier comment - Bill took dogs through the stream parallel to Danebridge Lane - lots of brambles etc but no sign of Lottie - will continue to think of places for him to search! x

Hi Lisa - quite prepared to volunteer my husband for search duty ...will try and fit in with your plans -
I am on FB and will keep up to date via Laura/Maria etc. x

This is a great idea and one we were talking about last night, if a large number of people could comb the area at the same time we might just find Lottie! Lisa will text you my email as not on FB. Away for a week from 14th but will help in any way I can
Hookart1
Hi Lisa, I am willing to help with the co-ordinated search. I do work in the day and I am not avaialble 11th, 12th or 13th but after that I can be free during the evening or early morning if that helps?

Thanks Tracy & Marianne. I am trying to co-ordinate a meeting of anyone willing to help in the search for Lottie so we can share all the areas that have been covered etc. & try & formulate a plan of action moving forward. If anyone is willing, please let me know xxx

Sadly just returned from a 2 hour search around ford, woods and Henry Moore area and not seen or heard anything. Also found the feeding shed and legs throbbing with stings! We wont give up.

I've added Lottie to Alfies lost dogs website as well & the Equestrian Centre in Stanstead have also added her to their page so more horse riders will be keeping an eye out. I know Peter (Sams husband) has posted an update & a thank you but I feel I need to add to this as having been away, he is somewhat out of the loop. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved behind the scenes in the search for Lotte - particularly Tina, Laura & Maria who are tirelessly involved out of the kindness of their hearts. xxx

Ouch. Poor you!

Yes the old feeding shelter is the one laura and i found. In cannot begin to tell you just how many nettle stings i ended up with that night, but needless to say, it was painful.

ID69888 sadly doesn't look like Lottie, too light and the eyes are the wrong colour and the face is a different shape (even given the fact she would be thinner now). When I was out looking yesterday I heard barking and howling and it sounded like it was coming from the woods next to Winding Hill Road however there were a lot of people in that area and it could quite easily have been somebody elses does barking at me yelling Lotties name across the field. I couldn't see anything and the barking/howling stopped despite me calling out more. It was getting dark and I was on my own so I couldn't investigate any more. I have told Tracy so hopefully she will be able to investigate that area when she goes out this evening. I also search the footpaths along the side of Danesbridge Road and found an old feeding shed which had the grass pushed down as a track going upto it, has anyone else been there that is searching? It might be places like this Lottie is going to at night to stay dry/warm. I can't go out again until Saturday. I spoke to some people on bikes and they had reported a lone dog seen in Braughing that matched Lotties size/colour, any one know of this report? Good luck to everyone going out, don't give up. She is out there somewhere.

Hi Maria, I know Lotties bark and howl really well (I do Sam and Peters garden and she let people know she was there). I don't know if she would come to me in survival mode but I would really hope so. Lottie knows lots of people so hopefully she will come to somebody. I have ordered some night vision gear so that might help in the dim light in the woods. On my way out now for another scout round. Karen x

Hi All
Just a quick family update. We all got back from half term break and we've been out looking for Lottie every night.
The girls and Sam are really missing her so a massive thank you for enormous support that you have all showed us.It really is overwhelming. We've had so many friends out and I see posters wherever I drive. I really think I can say that's shes famous locally.
As you can see I've put up a reward of £750 for her return. I hope that if someone has taken her in that they might be tempted to hand her over anonymously.
Some of you have been kind enough to enquire about Sam. I have to say that she is the most remarkably determined lady. Her life has cruelly changed forever but she practices her physio and speech therapy everyday without fail and is absolutely determined to get her life back as soon as possible. Her walking is improving but she really struggles on any form of uneven ground. Her arm is really stubborn and we've not seen real signs of too much improvement yet. However Sam is having Botox in her arm on Friday to release the spasticity which should then help her work on her arm muscle balance. You know it really is one of the cruelest things I've seen happen and through it all Lottie didn't leave her side. She followed her absolutely everywhere.
Thank you to Lisa and KimmyBear who are working tirelessly to co-ordinate efforts and make sure we stand the best possible chance of getting her back. When we find her we will have a BBQ to thank everyone who has helped out.
Love from us all.xxx
Lisa Baker
Hi there, I have added another photo of Lottie that I've been sent. It was taken just minutes before she disappeared & as you can see, she is not as chocolate as she was! There is also now a £750 reward for Lotties' safe return. I have updated Lotties fb page with the photo so please could people start circulating again. Thanks so much to everyone that is helping in the search for Lottie - the kindness of strangers is overwhelming & I can't thank you enough - Lisa xLast edited: 2014-06-04 13:51:47 by Lisa Baker

Hi all - I can be free on Thursday from around 2 p.m. till the evening to join a search? My sense of direction is hopeless so would rather go out with someone, at least the first time.....can someone let me know if this is of use? I have some fairly good binoculars, used for spotting wolves and bears in trees on holiday so can bring them
Detheo Photography
Hookart1 - the howling that we heard was very hard to locate in terms of exact location. And to be fair, we had to contend with sheep noises, aeroplanes and god knows what else. To make matters even more confusing there are a number of dogs who appear to be spending most of their time outside. Because of this there is often barking.

When we went back out to check we could not hear any whining. As you will see form the map link below, we covered a vast amount of ground.

This map highlights in green the route we took on Sunday evening and the green X marks the spot we stopped and fried sausages in an attempt to draw Lottie over. The red area is where we thing the whining was coming from. As you will also see the blue area is the one we covered yesterday. There was no whining and nothing to really report so it may not have been Lottie whining on Sunday, who knows. Hope this map helps.

Hi Kimmybear - I can't go out tonight (Tuesday) I didn't finished work until ten minutes ago (Its now 7:50pm) So I will try and go out tomorrow night. I don't go alone, my (grown up) children come with me and my family know where we are going. Thank you anyway, I wouldn't want anyone to get lost down there in the woods and fields. I would like to know where the howling was heard, can anyone put a map up where they were when they heard the howling. We have been out round the sheep field loads of times but not heard anything (other than sheep). I have ordered a night vision monocular. It should be delivered soon. Hopefully she will be found before the night vision stuff arrives but as soon as it does we will be able to see amongst the trees in low light. I dont fancy being there in complete darkness! Keep looking everyone, Lottie is there somewhere. x

Detheo, Laura, Hookart1 & all others who are helping - thank you! Lottie really, really needs you. Hookart1 I am told the area is vast, so do not go alone as we don't want to have to search for our helpers as well :-). I was going to do this myself but we need pairs at least. If anyone can please meet up and help search and plan action with Lisa, this will be great. Lottie is young and recall not brilliant, so in this instance I will say do call her name. BUT, remember she may not recognise her name whilst in survival mode - but she may. I am told there is no danger from cars as fields, so do call her and see what happens. Anyone got night goggles? Anyone who knows a kind fireman who could lend them to us? We just need a sighting and then we can work on it. If you do see her that is when you need to tread carefully so as not to be threatening and see if she will come to you. Do NOT chase. The previous sightings may or may not have been Lottie as there are other dogs in area. We have to hope it was. But we need to locate the source of crying and howling asap. Thank you. x
Detheo Photography
Laura, myself and a lady who works with Laura covered this highlighted area on the map today. We called and used the whistle but sadly nothing. We did meet a man we know who thought he saw something brown running off into the trees and his dogs (who are very friendly) did seem quite excited by whatever it was, but he could not say if it was a dog or not so this cannot really be classed as a sighting as it could have been anything including a different dog altogether. Sorry for the short post but will keep updating as and when we can.

Can you tell me which field people have heard the howling? Is it the one by the Henry Moore statue on the mound? Im going tomorrow evening (Tuesday) for another look for Lottie. If people have heard her howling (or another dog) it is worth checking out.
Lisa Baker
I've had a message on Lotties fb page to say that someone heard a dog howling last night when they where out searching & called her name. They said it was difficult to work out where it was coming from as the sheep are quite noisy! They also said that someone else had confirmed they heard howling when calling for Lottie last week - can anyone speak to the farmers in the area if they see them & get them to check barns, storage buildings etc. use incase she is locked in somewhere please. We know that if Lottie is still in the location then she has access to water & can probably feed off the food that the farmers have out for the lambs - other than that, no further updates I'm afraid x
Detheo Photography
The area itself has many water sources which Lottie will easily be drinking from. It is however like searching for a needle in a haystack as the fields are vast and surrounded by areas of woodland.
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Just looked at Danebridge road on google map and there appears to be a couple of streams, perhaps Lottie is using these for a source of water.

Update:

Tonight we carried out a search for about 3 hours looking for Lottie around the area she has been seen in - we took a camping ring and cooked up some sausages but sadly no sighting 😔

Our last search session on Tuesday we left the area at 8.40pm, unbeknown to us she had been sighted about 60/100m away from where we were and, we truly believe she was trying to find us, it's just seems too coincidental and so naturally are quite disappointed we left.

So whilst no sighting tonight, we still hold lots of hope for Lottie as I'm sure we all do.

We also put up about another 10 posters in the area so hopefully they'll help get her home too.

Thinking of Lottie & her family ❤️

Lisa, you put it on here for us. Thank you. I know its tough but remember that often dogs are still out there, just elusive. She could be walking her triangle so gone to another place for a bit and then will return. Sometimes dogs do a few metres or a couple of miles, other times they do 6 or 7 miles, or more! Maybe we need a few posters further out, just to cover all our bases? Think about everything that would stop Lottie from coming back and work on those things. Has someone picked her up and is perhaps wary of dog wardens so not reported? Or, do they want to keep her? Or, has she ended up in a vet who hasn't scanned? Or, do the council road people and highways know about her and not informed you? Does the chip company know that Sam is away and can they contact daughter or you? Is there a not so nice farmer out there who won't tell you that he's seen her? Is there a river or stream - she will need access to a water source. Dogs are very resilient, they can and do, survive very well in the wild for months on end, so don't lose hope, okay? Sometimes all you can do is just keep on doing until something comes to light. Hopefully with Lottie at the end of it. Sooner rather than later x
Lisa Baker

Lisa, you are doing marvellous. Look how far you've got! Bumped for sighting. Now, everyone remember that Lottie may be in survival mode - this means you need to only call quietly, calmly, no sudden movements. She may not even recognise family when in this mode - she will again - but her brain is wired to survive right now and that means running. If daughter is there, she needs to keep chatting away, even to herself, acting normally so that Lottie, if in hiding, will hear and start to process the familiar voice. In fact, in the absence of anyone else who knows Lottie, daughter is the only one that can call her name. But if she runs from daughter, do not chase. She will return - she just needs time to process. So remember, keep calm, no yelling and if you do see her call mobile number on poster and get down on the ground so as not to be a threat and watch. If you can entice her to you, okay, but you must wait for her to come over - no one must approach themselves. Thank you everyone - you are doing a grand job! Getting closer now......
Lisa Baker
No news as yet I'm afraid although it does sound like this could be her. Please can everyone in the location of Danebridge Road keep an eye out - I'm in Surrey so I can't get over. I know you are doing all you can and are probably doing all of this too but I want to share what Row and his family did to get Daisy back home. Slightly different as the area Daisy triangulate back to HAD some houses and a road and I believe Lottie was lost in a wood but as there have been no sightings of her she may still be in that area hiding, once disorientated they stick with what they know. They usually come out first light and dusk so you will need to be out there at that time. Row was out at 4am and back out all evening once a sighting had been made and managed to get her at 05:50 this morning. It will have to be you, Daisy would not come to anyone else but as soon as she saw her Dad she knew it was him. Call her as you normally would and if she comes out be gentle and slow with her. I'm sure she is still out there waiting. Also if you have another dog take that with you too. Good luck

I've just realised that there are 2 dogs missing within 6 miles ( as the crow flies ) of each other. The other dog is a female black labrador called Daisy ID 69201, missing from Harlow Common CM17 since 20/5. Hi Lottie's family, Pawfect Friends and our clients have been walking and sniffing in the area shouting out for Lottie, we've just got back and sadly nothing yet :-( (Is she a Lottie or do you have a pet name for her?) Should reach 177 doodle owners and their friends by this evening. Good luck!
Do hope she is found soon.

Just an idea, if Lottie is a foody and likes other dogs, could other dog walkers with calm dogs walk in an extended area away from trap treating their dogs as they walk? Would that draw her out.

Tina needs help to get sightings of Lottie. So please, please, please can people watch and call the numbers above if seen. Thank you. x

Thinking of Lotties family. Such a difficult time. We have shared on face book and will try to visit area and search. Praying she is home safe and well very soon. Maria x

Oh poor Sam! I have just had a double bypass at the age of 47 or I would be out helping with this search. Is it possible for anyone to take a portable barbecue to somewhere near where she was sighted, as the smell of sausages would carry for a long distance and might persuade her to come out of hiding? I so hope she is back with you both soon, Peter. All best.
Peter
Hi everyone. Thanks again for all your amazing help from all of us. I'm absolutely stunned by how people have rallied to help out.
We have had friends walking every night on top of all you amazing volunteers. To give you insight into how crucial it is for us you probably don't know but Sam, Lottie's mum had a major stroke in November at the age of 46. It has had a devastating impact on her life( and ours of course) and she is distraught as she can't lead the search as she can only walk a few yards on level ground. I can tell you that if it wasn't for that she would not have been home since last Friday, Lottie is her baby. We'll be out again tonight. Fingers crossed

Just wanted to let you know we are all thinking of you and Lottie, we are asking all our local clients to keep an eye out and to keep sharing. We are going to walk a pack of dogs in the area tomorrow, who knows she may well join in on the fun or they may sniff her out and at least we can get a sighting, our fingers are crossed for you. Hi, Kim just to let you know, Tina who got Ziggy back has been helping and been doing the feeding stations and has trap up. There have been sightings and the latest sighting matches Lottie so she still in area. Tina has put a blanket with scent down. PLEASE can we ask for anyone near by to go out and keep looking but not to chase and report sightings please. Also feeding stations to be avoided xLast edited: 2014-05-20 22:48:28

Can you let Admin or me know Lottie's chip number? If we register it (only you and we can see it) it will flag up as stolen if she gets scanned. Have you notified the chip company?

Hi Peter, glad to see you posting here. If Lottie is running wild, she will have gone into survival mode and may run even from people she knows. She needs time to process who you are. The best thing to do is poster and I mean a thousand posters if need be. Someone will see her and call you from the number on the poster. Without a poster in their faces, they won't know who to call. You then plot the sightings. You go to where she was seen and you set up a food and water station. Every day and night. If she has been there once she will be there again. You also need to speak to the farmers - you need them onside. There are sheep around and some farmers act and think later - too late. Speak to Ziggy's owners. Ziggy was missing in Much Hadham and caught only two weeks ago. They will tell you what hard work it was, but they did it and you can too! Where was she seen? Leave an old blanket or jumper of yours at that location. How did she go missing? She will go back to that same place and look for you, if she is able to. ***How did she go missing*** If someone takes her in, they have to get her to a scanner before her chip can be read. Some people don't do that, so you need to make her so famous they have no choice! Let's get your fur baby home! x

Morning. I ran last night for an hour with the dog whistle.
Covered the Phoenix farm, river ash valley then up to and around the back of the Henry Moore foundation. No luck.
Please keep helping us by Looking for her.
Thank you
Peter
Morning all.
Hi I'm Peter one of our dogs owners. Thank you all so much for all of your help.My wife and kids are understandably so worried but its so nice to know that everyone cares so much and is helping from the kindness of their hearts.
I think we've done everything we can now in terms of advising everyone possible. No more up to date news. lets hope that someone can find her and take her in. She is chipped and details are fully up to date.
Love from all of us x

Thank you so much to everyone that is sharing, postering & looking for Lottie! I know my cousin is so so grateful for the kindness of strangers. She is out there somewhere & in my heart I'm feeling positive that it's just a matter of time before she's home. You guys are wonderful xxx
Tracy

Thanks Kimmybear, Tina has been out again tracking this morning but no luck. She's given my cousin instructions for tracking & they're going to be setting up feeding stations later today. Come on Lottie, we know you're out there & we need you home xxx

I added Lottie to Herts DL FB earlier, Lisa. That's okay. Remember, don't chase - she will be in survival mode and just run off. Slowly does it and call quietly and let her come to you - whoever is out there. Repeat - do NOT chase. You need to plot her sightings and you will see a triangle forming - that is what we're looking for. Set up a feeding station. Hazel will have advised, I'm sure. You'll get her. x

Apparantly there have been two sitings of Lottie & one lady tried to grab her but she has now slipped her collar! She has been sited in the Perry Green/Tye Green side of the Ford. People are still out looking for her with a tracker dog - fingers crossed we find her soon - it's starting to get dark…. Thanks to everyone that is helping in the search xx

Lisa - I find it helps to give business-card size details to everyone you meet in the area - that way they have the contact numbers to hand if they come across Lottie (or have other info). I have a template set up - happy to set one up for Lottie and email to your cousin or local helper to print out and cut up. Let me know on here or FB if you'd like me to (and best email address to send PDF to). Good luck. x

Thanks Wizzyvid! Could someone please add her to Hertfordshire dog lost fb page as they seem to have blocked me… x

Hi Kimmybear, the owner is my cousin & the main telephone number above is her home number, the mobile is mine & I am in direct contact with her. I'll re-request the fb page too. My cousin has reported it to the dog warden & are ringing all the kennels & shelters in the area. Thanks so much Tracy & everyone else that is looking & posting. Let's hope she's found asap xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
I'll put you on Herts DL FB, can you request again Lisa? I think it was probably Admin seeing you were not in that area - sometimes we get odd folk trying to join so they were probably too careful. Well done Tracy. I think we are working third hand here with Lisa as opposed to owner, but I know Lisa has forwarded info to owner. Perhaps those searching in area could liaise with Lisa? Or, if owner can provide tel no. they can assist direct? See what Lisa thinks. Ziggy's owner had a long slog but they did it! True. x
Tracy
Just printed off the postie for dear Lottie, will put on the notice board at Little Hadham lights if one not already there. Hope you find the little girl soon, my heart goes out to you. xx
Sue
Might be worth contacting Ziggy's owner (see reunited page ID 67761) she is from the same area and will have advice on searching methods. I am also local and happy to help.Last edited: 2014-05-17 09:32:22 by Sue

Really hope you find her soon and am only sorry I am too far away to be able to help with the search. I have two choc labradoodles myself, one of whom has gone missing before (found within 24 hours thankfully) so I am thinking of you xx

Thanks Kimmybear, I've got your email - I'm a volunteer in the Surrey area but you can use my mobile number- 07775 740549. I've requested to join Hertfordhire Doglost so I can post this there but it won't allow me to be added. Any advice?

Sorry to see that LOTTIE STILL MISSING is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (68963)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
