- This is absolutely brilliant news!!! I'm so glad you have found Daisy, I knew you would! We were very unlucky to have never found our Oscar and still to this day his disappearance remains a mystery but we will never give up hope. Our dogs are part of the family and losing them is one of the most emotional life changing experiences. DogLost are amazing and I don't know what we would do without them. I am so happy that you have got your girl back. Welcome home Daisy!Last edited: 2014-05-26 09:26:16 by LucyL

- BMdevon, thank you and we will heed to your advice. We have been very up and down here today and I think in part that's down to the reunion but also tiredness. You really can't prepare for the amount of time and effort it takes. I am so so grateful to all of you for your fabulous posts and good wishes throughout this whole episode.

- Absolutely fantastic. I hope you two have had a great day today after all the emotion yesterday. Quick word of advice - cry if you need to. I cried for an hour after I was reunited with my dog and then bottled it up, but its a sort of shock your body goes into and it takes time to get your emotions back in balance. As I say, I bottled it up and then about two weeks down the line had a complete day of horribly dribbly snotty (sorry!) sobbing having imagined all the other possibly endings, worrying about how I could have made sure it hadn't happened in the first place and coming on here and seeing the desperation of those people whose dogs were still out there! Be kind to yourself in the next week or so!

This is one happy ending I'll never forget. God bless and stay safe. With love, Kim x

- I've got her!!!!! I've actually got her. Emotional doesn't even get close.
I found her on the field were we were looking on last night at 5:50am this morning amongst the thunder and lightning having been out since 4am and wondering where the hell is she? Has she run again, did she get hit .......
I couldn't sit still so I got back in my car and did the route, the only route I could think of but nothing.
Pouring with rain and lightening cracking over head all that was going through my mind was she's gone she'll be scared stiff, what do I do, what next??? Then I saw her at a field entrance, I slowly reversed up, jumped out if the car and she came straight over to me wet, muddy and clearly very happy to see me!
While I write this and whilst it's a happy ending I can't help but feel a pang of sadness for everyone else who hasn't had a similar ending.
I might seem strange to write a story about this at this time but as I said it's been emotional and I wanted to share my feelings
You guys on Dog Lost have well and truly reaffirmed my faith in human kind. I can't thank you all enough and of course I will be making a donation to the group.
Can I mention a special thanks to Kimmybear who has kept me sane throughout this saga and to Tracey who I called last night and made me laugh.

- YES!!!!!!!! I am so pleased! It's Daisy! Row, this is absolutely correct! (You have not offended at all). In fact, leave food and water, an old blanket or jumper from home right there where she was seen, in her "safe" place. Morning & night, same place same time leave it there. Watch from a distance, crouch or sit on floor, let her come to you. Call quietly. Or just walk around the area chatting to each other and she will recognise your voices eventually and come over. Give her time to process. If you sit there and she comes along, gently throw food her way. But, for all we know, once she sees its you she may well just charge over. You never can tell! I am over the moon. Almost there. Come on Daisy, come home to Mum & Dad. xxx

- Right, quick update as I need some rest. Daisy has been spotted 3 times tonight 1/2 a mile away from Hoggs Farm in Foster street, where the church that has been renovated sits. We have been out since 4pm and have had 6 people helping us to find her. She is really scared and won't come to anyone, having said that my wife and I have not had eye to eye contact with her ourselves. I am going to back out at sun up and just sit in the field behind the houses graveyard side which is where she was last spotted, with food and drink for her. I have been advised not to make eye contact and to only speak quietly to her if she comes up to me. Until now I've been shouting for her so will apply this tactic then. She has been running up and down the road from the motorway bridge at Hobbs Cross to the church so at least I have a smaller area to work in. Please if anyone sees her can you let me know on 07702083037 but please don't try to catch her as she will just run off and I'm worried about the M11 being so close.
The last person to see her said she looked very tired and was panting heavily but otherwise looked fine. I am going to get her back tomorrow if it's the last thing I do.
I don't mean to offend but just feel it's the right thing to do. If anyone thinks I'm doing the wrong thing please let me know.
Thank you.xxx

- Nothing yet. If it isn't Daisy, I do feel we need a search party starting at the area she disappeared from which would be the Common where Church Langley joins Potter St at the M11 bridge. Across to Foster St and Mill Lane area. I have no idea how or why Daisy would have left the farm unless someone spooked her or maybe someone tried to nab her and she legged it and got lost? Remember dogs come out of hiding dawn & dusk, so always a good idea to look then. What we need to remember is that if Daisy is out there wandering, she would not be on the part of the Common that she knows, she would be somewhere else trying to get back. Unless she's injured and is lying low until strong enough (as does happen as these fur babies are so resilient). If she had crossed the bridge and doesn't know that area, then maybe that's a place to start if you're driving around or looking. Remember she would need to find a water source, so if there are streams or ponds along Foster St side, that may good to check. The Common pond, I think she'd get back from there as very close. Row, any news? Poor owners must be exhausted. x

- Also, as a note to the East Herts dog Warden, I cannot thank her enough. She had a day off today and has just told me she's walked from Moorhall Lane to Sheering along the M11. She spoke to a highways warden and someone from Essex council as well, compared to other dog wardens she is fantastic

- I've just realised there are 2 dogs missing not too far apart. Daisy, and Lottie from Much Hadham in Herts postcode SG10. The distance "as the crow flies" is 6 miles. Lottie is a female chocolate brown labradoodle who was lost 16/5. Could people looking for Daisy also keep their eyes open for Lottie. May also be worth contacting Dog Wardens in all surrounding areas as I don't think they all communicate with each other, sorry I can't help with that. I will post on Lotties page ID68963 the same as I've posted on here. Hope you find Daisy soon.Last edited: 2014-05-23 16:27:17 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

- Hi LucyL, thank you for the advice. I have printed off loads more tonight and do loads more again tomorrow....... We are quite canny with Travellers and have never trusted one so would never part with cash until I've seen her and have her in my hand. Thank you again and if we don't find her your help would be really appreciated. X
- 2014-05-23 14:42 LucyL
- Hi there, I'm a helper on here and live just down the road from you at Herds Farm, Threshers Bush. We also lost our dog back in 2011 so I know the panic you must be feeling right now! Unfortunately 3 years on and we are still feeling that panic as despite years of searching we have never found our Oscar. I'm sure you will find Daisy though. The most important thing to do first is to get those posters up everywhere! I have been passing the word around about Daisy and sharing on facebook and am keeping my eye out for her. Unfortunately I am not around this weekend to help with the search but if Daisy still isn't home next week (I'm sure she will be though) and you need my help then just let me know. As Kimmybear has told you, please be aware as you are very likely to get a call from the travellers saying they have your dog and asking you for money. DO NOT hand over any money unless you see your dog first. We got caught out here and I know a few others who have too. Good luck and I hope Daisy is home soon. x
- 2014-05-23 13:51 BordercollieX
- I'm sure I would be in panic mode too, but please hang on in there. Many dogs have been safely reunited after weeks or months running loose. Can I suggest you might take posters to as many local businesses as possible as it means that all their employees will be aware.
- 2014-05-23 13:17 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Need posters other side of M11 in case she's over there.
- 2014-05-23 13:16 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- All loving owners have major panic attacks, that is why we are here on DogLost - for you! Row, black & white photocopies as opposed to home computer printers, are the best! They don't run in the damp or rain. Just sellotape them on. But any kind of ink or poster will help get word out now and that's what we need. Well done. I've got a few laminated colour ones for specific locations. If my bearings are correct, Hoggs Farm is very close to M11? So that sighting could have been Daisy despite the other one getting home. So HELPERS we are still looking in similar place as well as others as per Row's thoughts below. This will be part of Daisy's triangle so if she crossed motorway, she will be back so may even get home herself to the farm. Row, we're out there now. x
- 2014-05-23 12:31 Row
- We have asked the larger farms in the area if they can check their barns etc as well. This does include Kitchen Hall on the Common but they are very old there so may not have felt the gravity of the situation, but I may being unfair by saying that...... Does everyone get flits of panic at this time????? Or is just me???? :(
- 2014-05-23 12:29 Row
- HI Guys, I have printed of a load of posters, unfortunately in black and white as no more colour ink and work have their reservations about using their ink! If anyone wants poster please do let me know and I'll pop some over to anyone who wants them. I think the car posters is a great idea and will be doing this myself. I can ask for help from our close friends if you do want to carry out a group search, let me know how to coordinate this and I'll get onto it but it may not be until this evening after work.... The area was at Hoggs Farm, Harlow Common for info. Daisy doesn't have a collar on so won't be caught up on anything because of that.
- 2014-05-23 10:58 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- I've just copied this from owner's info that was on poster. I have place it here as I'm going to amend the wording for posters. "Daisy is a non working spayed family pet in need of medication, very timid and possibly will run from anyone trying to catch her, she will not bite. She may have run into the Church Langley area or possibly trying to find her way home to Old Road, Old Harlow. Reward offered for safe return, no questions asked".
- 2014-05-23 10:56 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Can we print a poster and pop it in our car windows? Not only can we identify each other but it gets word out where we go. x
- 2014-05-23 10:52 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Row, also as a thought, maybe check closer to home so to speak - in the place she was lost from. Check bushes and ditches, shrubs, any streams going through, any machinery she could have caught her collar on, any barns she could be locked in? That type of thing. Any one in area with swimming pools, sheds etc. This all must be checked as well. If other sightings were other dog, we may need to start at the beginning once more. We can put search party up on here and see who is free to search the ground like the police do, end to end in the area she went missing from. I'm not too sure exactly where it was, so unsure of the land area. x
- 2014-05-23 10:46 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Search party would be good - the only time it would scare her is if we saw her and all moved fast towards her. I am going over soon. If anyone is free, please join me. Not sure exactly where to look but I will go on owner's instinct and walk/drive Churchgate St and the Matching Tye area. Also I don't know if we have enough posters up as not been there yet - I really feel we need loads in case she's seen or if anyone knows anything. It's a little awkward now people know about another black dog being reunited as they may think its Daisy, so we need posters to say this one is still missing. I will amend our poster attached to that effect. We need to get the word out that Daisy is still out there. As a note, are we certain the found dog was really not Daisy. Does anyone know who the owners are of the other dog? Just need to be sure. Thank you. x
- 2014-05-23 10:38 Kenna
- Would it not help to arrange a search party or would that just scare her away?
- 2014-05-23 09:33 nic12
- Walked round Harlow Common this morning went across the M11 bridge and down just past the pub no sign of Daisy. Will use the Sheering road to go to and from work later. Maybe contact cab firms in Harlow, Old Harlow and Sheering and ask if they can alert their drivers as they are on the roads all the time they may spot her.
- 2014-05-23 08:22 Row
- Thank you nic12
- 2014-05-23 08:21 Row
- A black dog was rescued yesterday from Sheering, The Street, which is the main road that runs through there, this was not Daisy and the dog has thankfully been reunited with its owner.
This doesn't mean though that Daisy is not in this location. I still think Daisy is in this location although its just a gut feeling. I have been out again this morning and scented in areas that I feel are safe. One is at Hubbards Hall which is off the bottom of Churchgate Street and the other is in the Moulsham Tye area near to Matching Tye. Once I finish work (not sure I can concentrate enough to do any work!) I will be back out walking the section between Moorhall Road along the M11 to Sheering.
Please, if any spots her call me 07702083037 - 2014-05-22 23:08 nic12
- Have just taken a drive out through Sheering and back (I'm in Church Langley) no sighting of her I'm afraid. Will share on my facebook page and keep looking out for her
- 2014-05-22 21:46 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- From the sound of info coming in, it sounds extremely likely that is Daisy. Can we have people watching Sheering and the M11. We need to keep Daisy away from the motorway. Have advised Row to scent this side of motorway land and lead back to farm. Also, Row, scent the High Street. Smother the area with posters and I do mean every lamp post and telepgraoh pole. You need as many calls as you can get so you can get there instantly. Remember Daisy may be in survival mode now, so don't shout or chase, call quietly and let her come to you if you see her. She needs time to process who you are. Oh my gosh! We really need to find this girl. Everyone remember do NOT chase! She is a timid girl anyway and we don't want to chase her off, but we do need you to look for her and stay back when you seen her and call owner. Come on Daisy girl, keep safe precious. Follow Daddy's scent back home. x
- 2014-05-22 20:37 Row
- Theres a possibility that Daisy is running around in Sheering high street, I think it's called The Street as we have had two sightings today. One was from someone who saw a black dog run across the M11 towards Sheering and another tonight saying a dog was seen in Sheering running around in the street stopping traffic, so if anyone knows anyone, please get in touch

- Hi, thanks Kimmybear for all of your advice. We called Harlow & Epping dog wardens straight away and I called Essex CC and the highways agency this am. My wife has been FBing like mad as have I. We have looked everywhere around Church Langley all the way home to old Harlow which is rural so like finding a needle in a haystack. We have approached everyone and anyone we meet so the word is getting out there. I have posters with the above text but someone said to change it to make her sound less desirable. As far as being any use to travellers is concerned once they find out she is spayed and old surely she is no use to them! Do they let them go if no use? To add to this we have had a possible sighting from a friend on FB who has commented on Keep it local Epping/North weald that she saw a lab near Wintry Wood near the boarding kennels. I will be there sun up! Once I re-word the posters I will start putting them out. I have spoken in length with the Herts & Essex dog warden as well and she also advised the scenting process so we will give that a go tomorrow as well. Thank you for everything. I will keep looking.....everywhere!
- 2014-05-21 20:18 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Daisy will try and get back to where you lost her so go back there NOW! Do the scenting as per instructions sent to you in email and leave old jumper/blanket with your scent on at that location too BUT leave it away from the Common slightly towards the houses so she can been seen there - you need to scent from the place you lost her towards a safe place out of sight from the Common, but in sight of the houses. Did you drive? Where did you leave the car? She would go back to it. You need to call the Highways who run M11 and major roads and the council cleansing dept for the local roads (via 446655)and dog warden. Make sure you actually speak to someone in that department - don't just leave a message/enquiry. Stand your ground. Report her to them. Road people do not scan dogs, so please call them. They don't work weekends so call asap. Also, check the lanes by Foster Street etc. Poster, poster, poster. Annette will help - you really do need 100's and then you get calls. We have helpers in Threshers Bush way who will keep a look out too. As a note, there are certain undesirables around the Common who call lost dog posters for fun, or claiming to have your dog and wanting money. Handle it best you can and call us, but NEVER EVER EVER part with money unless your dog is in front of you - because they really do NOT have the dog if not there. Trust us. No matter what they say, okay? This is just because we know this happens at the Common (it happened to me too) so just fore-warning you, that's all. Please read the email. Does Daisy know her way home from there? It is very possible. Keep us posted on here and call us if need be. You can do it! Let's get your baby home! x
