- Just noticed the address of the pub didn't copy properly. It's Fox and Goose Inn Pudding Pie Hill, Wigley, Chesterfield, S42 7JJ.
- 2015-07-09 10:17 Weeone
- Hi, I found a black labrador at the Fox and Goose Inn last night wearing a black collar with bones on it. He was bigger than the dog in your photos but could have grown as I see he's been lost a year. He didn't have an ID badge. His collar had a metal lead attachment clip on it so it looked like at some point he's slipped a lead. It didn't like he'd eaten much. He was entire and didn't get on well with my bitch who although is spayed didn't like his advances. I know it's a long shot but I guess there is a small chance that he is yours. I tried ringing the dog warden but they were closed (it was 7pm). People in the pub said he'd been hanging around for a few weeks and as I was watching him it was clear he was using the pub as a food source -running around the tables outside. I rang the rspca but they don't come for strays. I rang the out of hours council line and they couldn't help. I even rang the non emergency police line. I had no space in my car to bring him home. When I left there was a lady in the pub stating that she was going to take him home and hand him in to the dog warden today. You might want to ring the pub and either see if he's still there or see if someone did indeed take him and check with the chesterfield Dog Warden. I don't want to get your hopes up as he was substantially stockier than the dog in your photos but the only identifying feature is the collar and it sounds like yours matches. Please know that I tried everything I could and was very upset to have to leave him there. He was wearing a black collar with multicolour bones on it. I didn't notice if his ear was up - to be honest both ears were up most of the time as he was having such a lovely time with my dog! Good luck.

- Black Lab boy found up Rivington this week & handed to dog warden. Not sure which Dog Warden covers that area, but looking at the pic posted on facebook by finder it does look to have a black collar. Please don't rely on the microchip to reunite him, they get missed & sometimes stop working. Hope he's home soon. xx

- Hi. There is a summer fair type thing in Edenfield this weekend, think its on Saturday. If Max hasn't turned up by then. It would be a good place to hand out leaflets for Max. It gets very busy and something may come of it. I know exactly what you are going through as I went through it with a Bleakholt dog last May, it's the hardest thing not knowing. I think of Max everyday and hope to see that he's safe when I check on your posts.. Good luck and I keep an eye out for him whilst walking my Lab in the Edenfield area.. Mark

- Sorry I live a bit far to help you search today, was thinking about you. I agree Christine, its a good idea to check the local vets and kennels. Though would hope he is scanned you never know.
Funnily enough there is a picture of a Black Lab in Aspen Kennels they have called "Jet" worth checking xx http://www.hyndburnstraydogsinneed.co.uk/index.php?menu=lost - 2014-05-25 17:19 christine
- Helped search along the side of bypass with the owners 2 daughters. No joy. Undergrowth very thick in places and too close to the traffic to let my dog off lead to search. Details are a bit sketchy as too whether he was actually hit. Have advised owner to contact Glencoe and Aspen kennels as he may have been picked up and taken there, also the units on the industrial estate on the side of the bypass need postering when they open up after the Bank Holiday.

- Hoping Max is found safe and well. This found is on the Animal Wardens website maybe worth checking even though says small and a few miles away x

- Hi I am max owner he went missing yesterday afternoon and I was told last night that he had been run over on the A56 on the way to McDonald's. I spoke to the highways agency and they say that they have not found a body they have been out last night and this morning. I was out til late last night and early today and then also this afternoon he still has not been sighted or found, so until somebody can prove to me that he has passed away I am now presuming that he is alive thank you for posting this on here and also for all the kind messages x

- I have been talking within the last hour via facebook with Max's owner. He is NOT confirmed as being at Rainbow Bridge, she has been out looking for him again today and intends on going out again tonight after she has rested. A direct quote from her on my IM when I asked about the information on here is "As far as I know he is alive has the highways agency have not found the body so yes it's likely the information is wrong xx"Last edited: 2014-05-24 19:28:10 by Suzanne

- Sorry to see that MAX MISSING FOR THREE YEARS is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (69338)

- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
