- I think there will be a lot like it. People need to check details!!
- 2014-06-17 22:13 sidewater
- Guess what! checked the details of 2 of my dogs on petlog to-day and one they had changed his id number, why they did not know. but his chip number no longer related to my address! so he has been running around for 4yrs will a chip that means nothing! promised me to sort it and e-mail new number but no mail yet.
- 2014-06-09 12:52 sidewater
- That's reassuring!, I will check my dogs details later when I have time, IF I can get into their site
- 2014-06-09 09:24 Debz
- I normally have my dogs Tattooed but I decided to get my pup chipped. He's a breed often stolen! I got a confirmation email back from Petlog and I upgraded to Premium. My details were then 'accidently' sent to someone else and I got someone else's details. When I rang to find out what was going on they said that they were sending out reminders to all, to make sure their details were correct but that they had got a problem with their system and a lot had gone to the wrong people!!Last edited: 2014-06-09 09:25:36 by Debz

- Sidewater that was how we got their attention over the unregistered chip thing they did to our girl the min she was stolen x
Richard contact Angel Scanners as petlog listen to them...with us they would not take what we were saying at all and I even got told I might be a dog thief. I had the chips paperwork as oddly enough the thief didn't have!! ... Our dog had been stolen yet they told me that!!! Talk to Angel as they have a better understanding of petlog x - 2014-06-06 18:28 Bobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
- The Petlog thing is outrageous. I don't do facebook at all, but Sidewater perhaps a few people who use it could follow your lead and get something done? You've rattled their cage x
- 2014-06-06 16:56 sidewater
- Oh! dear, Petlog are jumping about because I have put some comment on the Public Facebook page, want to talk about it privately, Go to their facebook page Richin and ask for an explanation when you have time.
- 2014-06-06 16:48 Richinroom101
- She has just been reunited with her sister and mum and it was fantastic to see them all play so happily

- Brilliant that Bonnie is home where she belongs. Stay close now Bonnie:-)xxx

- Richard your letter doesn't surprise me actually as what they did to Pup was equally outrageous when she was first stolen.
It does worry me though as they did assure us that making Pup unregistered would prevent anyone getting her details changed....
We ended u talking to the kind folk at Halo (Angel Scanners) and THEY got petlog to change Pup to what she should have been immediately ie stolen...... It was a break in and we do have from the start a crime number.
Don't leave it like this as they are not complying with their own regulations with that letter...... We ran headlong at petlog by the end and when that didn't work we went public...That got their attention yet even then they insisted they were right to have de-registered Pup's chip...It was Angel Scanners (Nick Smith actually) who got them to see sense.
Don't get cross, don't get upset just calmly ask them what point are chips?!? Then talk to Angel Scanners to see if they can help x - 2014-06-06 12:36 allimac
- VERY pleased you have her back. Well done. I am absolutely horrified about petlog. This issue needs some publicity and scrutiny. What is the point of it otherwise????
- 2014-06-06 11:08 Richinroom101
- Had a letter from petlog this morning telling me, regardless of me reporting her missing and blocking her micro chip, they were going to automatically change her details over to the people that had her, they are going to get a piece of my mind in a bit when i ring them, how redicoulous can they be. Thankyou once again for everyone who has helped in the return of bonnie, she slept like a log last night and is back to her normal self today
- 2014-06-06 08:45 sidewater
- So glad you got her back, take care with her and a new baby.Would be interested in the name and address of the people who have been holding her.

- So pleased to see that Bonnie is home where she belongs and is obviosly delighted to be there :) Please, now she is home and safe pass on all the information so that the police can do their job.
- 2014-06-06 00:15 Seeks
- Really glad you got her home Richard but feel for you hiving to buy her back. I know we have been told that if Pup is with some people she will cost us a fair bit and that the police don't always go get then...as well as chips not being deemed proof of ownership so get why you paid for her totally.
She looks very pleased to be home bless her :-) x
Sadly CJ and Bobble chips really are not held to be proof of legal owner and deffra are happy it stays that way and publicly said so when the scanning petition reached over 10,000 it then sadly failed to get enough signatures to hope for a debate on it all.
Oddly though they will be proof of ownership if a dog is behaving dangerously just not for any other dog x - 2014-06-05 22:24 HELEN BROWN
- yes woo hoo

- Thanks CJ.
This dog is clearly being held to ransom and the Police should and can help. She is microchip and microchip registered to legal owner.
Please get the Police involved, ensure there is a third party with you when you deal with these criminals and get the Police to deal with this. - 2014-06-05 13:50 Bo

- How can police say this is a civil matter? Have they asked these people for proof of ownership?? have they asked how long they have had her and where they got her from? Take your proof of ownership to police and ask they record this as THEFT and not a missing dog. If this was a car and it was picked up on ANPR would they say its a civil dispute?? I cannot see what the difference is as both are in eyes of law 'property'. therefore your property which you can prove is yours is being held and as they are asking money it is now ransom.
Get back to police speak to a sergeant and ask in a polite but firm way that this is listed as a crime- say they are now asking for money- why would they do that if genuinely their dog??
Then ask they attend with a scanner and get your dog back.
if they state 'bought in good faith' then ask the state where from as they have bought her from the person that stole her- unless of course they are just stating that in order to cover up their own crime! - 2014-06-05 12:11 Bo
- If she was bought in good faith then as previously stated, this would be a civil matter which would cost a great deal more than £200. Pleased that she's going home and well done Gilly for contributing to the amount required.
- 2014-06-05 11:31 Unknown
- Bonnie coming home tonight (Richinroom101 has promised me a pic asap) Good luck!
- 2014-06-05 11:24 Richinroom101
- As soon as i get her home i will take legal action, i just want her back quickly and cant have anymore delays, we miss her so much
- 2014-06-05 11:17 Unknown
- Agreed Dilliondog. Another word for it is black mail!. If you can prove she is legally yours the police must take action. x
- 2014-06-05 11:14 dillondog
- Isn't this theft by finding? Maybe DogLost can give further advice? I'd go back to the police and insist they take action. Bonnie is legally yours.
- 2014-06-05 11:13 Richinroom101

- 2014-06-05 09:56 Unknown
- You should ask Petlog for some help, they need to take some responsbility. I can do some but not £200.00. Perhaps others might be willing to help you too.x
- 2014-06-05 09:43 Richinroom101
- If you can help with £200 then that would be great, other than that i am out of options x
- 2014-06-05 07:47 Unknown
- Richinroom101, can we help? I am willing to help you out to get her back xxxx
- 2014-06-04 19:20 Richinroom101
- yea police say they cant intervine because its a civil matter so just gonna have to try and magic £200 up
- 2014-06-04 18:58 sidewater
- Have you phoned the Police with that information? seek advice from Dogs lost.
- 2014-06-04 18:44 Richinroom101
- well not out the ropes yet, they want £200 to give the dog back so now i have to try and magic up £200 out of thin air to try and get her back
- 2014-06-04 17:54 sidewater
- Great news! well done, tell us latter how you got her back, we all need to know. Incase the same happens to us. Also need an explanation from petlog. I have 2 dogs chipped with them. and if a local vet scanned her an explanation from them too. will call off my facebook friends who are looking.

- Looked more as if he was walking from the beach towards houses facing Blenheim park, should not have been in park, dogs Banned. dogs banned on beach to. he realised I was looking at the dog when I slowed down beside him. I then drove to where I had put a poster up to get your number and have another look at photo. Does she usually carry her tail down?
- 2014-06-03 18:12 Richinroom101
- thankyou i will be out on the search in that area, was he walking past blenheim gardens or did it look like that was where they had come from?

- I have seen a man walking a dog in Minehead, which looks like this one, can not be many dogs with a blaze twisting around to the right. Was not going to Challenge man, but am trying to leave message with dogslost, have left 2 messages on owners phone.
- 2014-06-03 13:21 sidewater
- But surly the Finder of the dog must have taken it to a local vet and had it scanned in order to know it is a petlog chip? Vet should have known it is a lost dog? This dog must be with someone around here!

CJ knows her stuff and your in good hand so hang in there xx
I dread this with our Pup but wont say how much and why I feel a microchip, yet again, has let the RIGHTFUL owner down...... - 2014-06-02 19:29 Jayne - Founder Doglost.

- It would be very helpful if you could search for the dog, she was attacked in sidmouth by a greyhound and a staffy and since then she flares up as soon as she gets scared and runs away, previously in sidmouth a husky wanted to play with her and she ran away but luckily she ran home, unfortunately this time wen it happened we were away from home
- 2014-06-01 09:51 Sarah
- This is from the group below. They do have some great successes and there is no charge, just great training for their dogs! You just need an initial sighting.
Sam Farlap Www.k9searchdog.org have a handler team that live close to there if you can alert owner and ssuggest ttheyget in touch when a sighting is reported. Our team have a lot of experience with dog nervous "misdogs" and are trained to act accordingly in such circumstances - 2014-05-31 12:45 sidewater
- i will put some posters in The Parks area then.out of interest was she attacked by another dog in Periton Lane, and if so can you describe it and or it's owner?
- 2014-05-31 10:26 Richinroom101
- yea i am in constant contact with the vets etc, i am also ringing all the taxi companies to keep an eye out for her on there travels. She headed down towards the town
- 2014-05-31 09:25 sidewater
- Rich, keep phoning White Lodge Vets, they take in stray dogs because of the lack of council services. which direction did she run off in, down towards the town or up towards Grabbist Hill?.

- Richinroom 101, please read and use the adivice I sent you :) Will be a good ide if you phone, email vets in that area. I will email you a list of contact details.
Bumping page due to reward.
Someone somewhere must know something? - 2014-05-30 20:59 Richinroom101
- I have spoken with West Somerset Council Dog Warden Service a couple of times now, I rang around all the local vets in the area and reported her aswel as all the pet shops, Does that vets now know she is missing?
- 2014-05-30 20:00 sidewater
- where have you spoken to a dog warden? there isn't one here!Try phoning pitleigh kennels 01643 841122 they take strays in. or Rspca West Hatch, but they are not good at answering the phone, or St Giles Kennels Taunton. Also when I spoke to local vets they did not know you had lost one, and they keep a record of lost and found dogs.
- 2014-05-30 18:41 Richinroom101
- Still no sign of bonnie, if everyone can please keep an eye out for her please its been 4 days now and we really need her back, the police are involved aswel and council dog wardens are helping with the search, its very difficult for us to get to minehead all the time to look for her as we live in Sidmouth and my partner is 9 and half months pregnant but we are getting up there as much as we can to help with the search, if anyone sees her then please ring me or the council dog wardens and if anyone is to find bonnie plese keep hold of her for me until i get to minehead, if bonnie is seen with someone please contact me or the dog warden or take her and keep her safe until i arrive. I am now issuing a £50 reward if bonnie is found and if she kept safe until i collect her

Please be aware if anyone sees her whilst dog walking that she is afraid of other dogs, note where you saw her and phone owner/post on here ASAP. - 2014-05-29 23:23 saz75

- For some reason I can not get the posters printing well. Have spoken to local vet but she has not been taken there. Tried to phone kennels the dog warden uses but only left a message. going to poster local car park now.
