Thanks guys, we have spent the last 3 weeks doing shifts in middle of field and finally! We enlisted help of the farmer and got him into car and safely to vets. Just waiting for an update but I know he is home with owner. Phew! X

Finally Teddy is caught and going home! Thank you to all those that have helped with watching the trap, setting up feeding stations and generally been supportive and positive for the owners. So pleased this boy is home before the bad weather sets in whoooo hooooo!
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
Good. I am pleased to read that. I'm not on Facebook. Hopefully he will be home soon, fingers crossed for my girls too x
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Elaine those were my thoughts, but I found "find teddy!" facebook page and that is what Stacey and helpers are doing, 24 hour stakeouts. He is being quite elusive but looks healthy, storms and mists aren't helping.
Elaine Tinker and Hemps mum
I can't believe what I am reading?? If my two girls Tinker and Hemp had been sighted just once, I would set up camp. Come on Stacey go and get your boy, he deserves to be home x
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Thanks Kimmybear. Just wish people would post whats occuring and if the dog has a Facebook page let everyone know. Might help if owner walked round the fields with friends and their dogs that he knows, not calling just chatting. That's how Paula got Cindy, just might work for Teddy if he's a sociable dog. X She also laced her grub with Bach Rescue Remedy!

Me n my Girl, I don't believe this was a gypsy - from what Stacey told me, it seems it's a loner who was kind to Teddy. But he has not seen Teddy for a while. Teddy has been seen a few times this week, and once by Stacey, and photographed. Stacey appears to be trying to do the right things and has a trap set up and some kind helper called Paula (not Cindy's owner) is trying to lead, from what I can gather from Teddy's FB page. So all is not lost. DogLost has given so much advice - from both myself and Debbie - I hope it now pays off as Stacey seems to be listening. Well done Stacey. However, this poor dog has been wild for three and a half months now. He has done so well, but he must be caught and soon, for his own sake. Come on Teddy, please walk over to Stacey and let her catch you. x

Teddy has a FB page "find teddy!" it seems that is where you need to look to see what is going on as this page has given me the wrong impression due to lack of updates by owner.Last edited: 2014-09-18 13:35:08 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

Stacey Re your post 4/9. Is the gypsy man still feeding Teddy? I kow both the gypsy family and farmers were very helpful when Cindy the greyhound was lost in the same area.Last edited: 2014-09-18 12:58:31 by Me N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer

No no no! Shelagh is right - NO darting! NO drugs. Just the owner!!!!! Where are you Stacey???? I have to admit, this is driving me insane. Teddy is out there waiting for owner to find him. I wish I lived nearer.
Shelagh
No a dart gun is definitely not a good idea. They are only used by specially qualified vets. Also it is illegal to have/be in possession of one. Where does she intend getting one from? Somebody could offer her one and it could kill Teddy! Please try the methods suggested below, they are the tried and tested that will ensure you catch teddy alive.
poppysmum
photographs taken off teddy so a definite sighting, owner is asking for a dart gun, not sure if this is a good idea, please comment
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Think this is where Cindy the greyhound reunited ID 56302 was hanging around for about 4 wks. Think Clarkes Farm greyhound Rescue is nearby they might keep their eyes peeled and make their walkers aware.

Paula Wiseman Been down there spoke to farmer, Teddy was playing on field to left of spinney today, from a fb post. So near but so far....I drove all round fields but field his usually in is being ploughed then farmer doing something else over there today. He said his very fit and healthy. Get that cage back down there x

I will tweet urgent appeal for helpers xx

Thank you for your comments & advice Kimmybear. Hopefully some volunteers will come forward but Stacey needs to ask for help. I'm so worried for a Teddy as he needs to be caught before he moves away from the area.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Spoken with Stacey. Can anyone help her to watch for Teddy at this location. It just means sitting in the bushes, basically and watching. We need some kind of rota. x
Happiness yorkie lover xxx
Hope this lovely boy gets caught soon xxx too long out there by himself x
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Don't know if it would help to read Bellas page who was reunited today ID 74680 and Heidi Reunited ID 61410, read from posts dated 24/12 to 7/1. It just might give Teddy searchers some ideas. Good luck.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Any trap MUST be manned 24/7. You cannot, repeat CANNOT, leave a trap unattended. Its against the law and a danger to the dog, wildlife and cats if a trap is unattended. An animal caught inside will die of stress instantly. If Teddy is in the trap all day, he could die. You cannot check a trap daily - you have to monitor it all the time from a little distance away. Teddy doesn't need a trap. All he needs is for owner to sit there and wait for him for as long as it takes. She needs to offer him food and encourage him to come to her. If she chases him, he'll run as he's in survival mode. This is how you catch your dog. If owner cannot do this, then she will need to get helpers to do a rota 24/7 night and day at the trap and the trap needs to have been tested first and there are a number of things you need to do before you can trap. If it goes wrong, you will lose Teddy as he's never coming back to it. It may only take a day if owner sits there. This has been going on too long. Teddy needs to get home. Is there anyone out there to take charge of this please? I can direct you, as can anyone from DogLost. This dog needs to be caught and soon! Please help him. Thanks for posting Lunasmum, at least we know what's going on a bit more. Thank you. x
lunasmum
Teddy's owner has borrowed a trap & although somebody is able to check it every morning, the lender has said it must not be left unattended. This means Teddy isn't going to be caught. Is there anyone who can lend a trap please.
lunasmum
So near but so far. An animal is eating food left out & even chewed the bowl which is what Teddy always did. The blanket left out had been slept on & was still warm & there was dog poo nearby. All signs that it could be Teddy but he us evading capture
lunasmum
No sign of him last night :(

Thanks Debbie. You may well be right. Alerting owner. x

Don't know if this is related just seen a a post on Facebook by Catherine Anne Russell on a page called buy buy sell swap or free tollesbury and surrounding villages...hey people just wondering if anyone is missing a dog, there is one wandering around and looking very scared on Darcy road by the dangerous corner! Tanned in colour. This post was 13 hours ago. I have looked on the map and its not overly far from missing area or sighting area.In fact if I have the right areas the three form a triangle. Wishing you luck finding Teddy, Debbie xx
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Thanks Stacey. I have now messaged you. I have asked Cindy's owner to contact you if she can. Cindy was finally captured in this area. You can get Tedddy now too! I want you to read the email I sent and do the scenting in that area but to a safe place Dogs never forget your scent. I also need you to know that Teddy may not recognise you immediately as he's in survival mode. Cindy's owner was walking around with friends chatting and finally Cindy realised who she was and came flying over. But before then, she completely ignored owner. So don't worry if that happens. You are so close. Be careful and bear in mind what I've told you in the message. If need be we can find a way of trapping Teddy. We just need more sightings so we can plot his course and find a suitable location. Keep us posted. PLEASE. x
staceykey95
Teddy has been seen for the last 2 weeks around the great tottham area by a few people. A traverler man has started to gain Teddy trust by feeding his a short way from his caravan. Its now a waiting game x

Angel .. I think Debs yr area Co-ordinator has already sent that advice (see her psot 15th June) If she has not got it pls email Doglost admin and I'm sure they will send it to you. Teddy seems to be staying in the area so let's hope he follows that trail so he can be home again soon. Good luck.
Angel Sasha (Bella's Angels)
Hi, Teddy has been sighted in Heybridge by a farmer. This is not far from where he went missing! We are ruling out Witham sighting. Stacey (Owner) goes on holiday on Monday so she really needs some urgent scenting advice which she can carry out tomorrow. Can someone either contact Stacey or me and I will pass on info to her? Thank you x

Check out animalwarden.co.uk, they have similar dog found, listed as shar pei, but cannot tell if it is the same.
Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
He is Go to where you heard him in undergrowth, it may well be his den. Put an item of clothing close by so he can get your scent. Also start scenting as well.Put food down twice daily and walk away. (very difficult) If you do see him, lay down and whimper, he will probably approach, have food in your hand to keep him close and avoid eye contact. Good luck.
staceykey95
Another possible sighting.. Down maldon prom by the see wall behind the tip there was a large brown animal walking across there on his own
Debs
Have given owner scenting advice and strategy planning. Bbq's at the ready!!!
staceykey95
Hi, Im Teddys owner. He has been sighted 3 times over the weekend in maldon. Cross roads, fambridge closer and morrisons. Also had possible sighting this evening. Have been down there for a few hours could hear growling and lots of movements in a bush (likely to be ted) possibly very frightened called his name very calmly. Left food treats and water. Can anybody give me any advice? Thank you xLast edited: 2014-06-15 23:21:15 by staceykey95
Angel Sasha (Bella's Angels)
Sighting today near Morrisons Maldon and possibly again behind maldon community centre which is near morrisons. Owner has had to come away from area now but do you think if this is teddy that owner may benefit from some advice re scenting please?? Have given as much advice as I can but scenting is not my area. Have asked owner to contact you directly for advice
Debs
Lots of activity postings on Facebook, one suggested a possible sighting at HEYBRIDGE fishing lake at 6am Sunday morning. Owners please post on here possible sightings and planned searches as not all our members are on Facebook. Your missing a significant amount of people of helping you by not keeping this post up to date
Wuzzy
Details are being circulated to Farmwatch members
Angel Sasha (Bella's Angels)
Have offered same advice re posters as local to area. Have also offered Bella's angels assistance re searching. Just need a sighting that we can focus on
Debs
Have spoken to owner and all advice given. All authorities have been contacted and I've advised to heavily poster the area
